What Are The Pros And Cons Of Moving To Canada

What are the pros/cons from moving from Ohio to Canada, and how hard is it to move there?

Me and my girlfriend are very interested in moving to Canada after college, and we would like some basic pros/cons about moving there. How is the economy, and how much work is there in the aviation and construction field. And how long would it take to file for citizenship and become official citizens of Canada. Thank you for your time. Happy New Year!!!

What are the pros and cons of living in Canada?

Pros:Good primary education system and highly literate populationHighly diverse population, which has led to a highly tolerant populationStrong legal system and a lot of respect for the law and law enforcementFairly good social services system, although poverty still existsFairly good health care system with very few out-of-pocket expensesFirst rate universities and colleges, which includes the professional schools for law, medicine, dentistry and so forthSolid banking system (there hasn’t been a bank failure since 1983)Specialized financial markets for mature stocks (Toronto), venture stocks (Vancover and Calgary) and derivatives (Montreal).Robust democracy with low campaigning costs (typically about $50 million Canadian at the high end for the major parties for each national election campaign).Cons:Extreme weather of all types. Winter temperatures in some major Canadian cities can drop to -40 Celcius. Summer temperatures in major Canadian cities can climb to +40 Celcius. Heavy rain on the west coast during the winter and major snow on the east coast.Poor intercity transportation. No national limited access highway network. This winter, one broken bridge cut the country’s road system into two pieces. Limited access highways and rail only cover the most densely populated areas, and that’s spotty (Peterborough, population 50,000 and an hour from Toronto, has no rail service).Allows for development of regional political parties like Reform and the Bloc Quebecois at the national level.

Pros and Cons of moving from Wisconsin to Canada?

Well.... Canada is pretty big and diverse maybe you could be a little more specific as to WHERE in Canada. Like what province.

What are the pros and cons of travaling to canada?

As you know, Canada is huge, so unless you have a couple of months, I would recommend you pick an area and do it well. For example, Atlantic Canada offers enough to keep you busy for several weeks. Newfoundland and Labrador would take at least a few weeks and even then you would not do everything. Consider in Newfoundland you should see Lanse aux Meadows (old Viking settlement), Red Bay in Labrador (Basques whaling settlement), Lanse Amour (Archaic Indian burial site in Labrador), Gros Morne National Park (numerous day trips, hikes, boat tours there), the Tablelands, Cape Spear (most easterly point of North America), the Random Passage film set, the Bay of Islands, Cape St. Mary's, the Irish Loop, Bell Island, and many more things before even considering the St. John's area, which would require days in itself. In St. John's we have The Rooms, Signal Hill, the Fluvarium, the Geocenter, old churches, the Ghost Walk, tea at the United (I think) church basement, and a great variety of local culture of all sorts. There are also fishing trips, whalewatching, George Street, and the list goes on and on. And we haven't even really considered Labrador much yet, which is an experience in itself.

So, my advice would be to pick an area and do it well. Otherwise you will be tired from so much travelling and maybe not enjoy your vacation as much as you otherwise might. Whatever you decide, have fun and enjoy Canada.

Pros and Cons about living in Canada vs. America?

If you are wealthy or entrepreneurial the US is the better place. If you don't plan to either start your own business or live off of investment dividends then Canada is the only place where you can get medical care, education, childcare and any kind of retirement pension.
