What Are The Pros Of The Previous Generation Kindle Fire

The wifi on my 1st generation Kindle Fire won't connect!?

It's been working since I got it 2 years ago with flying colors, the internet was fast, downloading books was easy, and emails were a snap. But, since yesterday the wifi has begun to act erratically. The only way to make it work is to turn off my router and modem, then turn them back on again. Yet after I do that, if I turn my device off it screws up the wifi, and when I turn it back on again I have to go through the whole process again. I've already tried turning off my Kindle, hard-rebooting my Kindle, re-doing all my passwords and making sure they were right, reseting all my passwords, and seeing that there weren't too many devices hooked up to my wifi at one time. Nothing works! I've already looked at the Amazon trouble-shooting website and there's nothing there. I'm very upset about my beloved Kindle, any suggestions?

Will an Ipad mini case fit a kindle fire 1st generation?

Hi. No it wont fit.

So I suggest you select only the cases for Kindle Fire as most of the tablets have difference in size and dimensions.

Here you would be able to find some good cases for Kindle Fire 1st Generation:

What is the best way to root my Kindle Fire 1st Gen?

Ok first, you should NEVER pay to root anything ESPECIALLY something as easy as the kindle fire. If you want to run jelly bean on it, this is totally doable and actually pretty easy. You will need only 2 files to do this. The first is KFU or kindle fire utility. This is what roots the device.

Download this, and then follow the instructions it says here (I know it is for an earlier software version, but it still works just use the KFU link from above.) http://liliputing.com/2012/05/how-to-roo...

Now to get jelly bean on there. I would recommend smoothrom which run on android 4.2.2. This is the one I am using right now, and is my favorite. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthre... you also need to download a file for google apps that it says on this page.

So download this, and go back to KFU. Select the install for FFF and let that work. Now do the same for the option for TWRP.

Now you need to get the rom and the google apps you downloaded to the kindle's sd card. So connect it to a computer/use dropbox or whatever and put it on your sd card. (Not in any folder just on the main sd card) Now shut down your device. Turn it back on and there will be a blue and white kindle fire logo. Hold down the power button until it shows 3 options on the bottom of the screen. Press the power button again until it highlights the choice marked recovery. Wait for a second for it to boot, and click wipe.

WARNING THIS NEXT STEP WILL REMOVE ALL APPS AND DELETE THE KINDLE FIRE OS.

Your documents and everything on the sd card will be fine. Don't mess with the advanced option, just swipe to factory reset. Now hit back and click install. Select the rom and then click select more zips and select the google apps zip. Now you should wait for it to install, then when it's done click reboot system, and there you go! You now have a rooted kindle fire running jelly bean!

DISCLAIMER - THIS METHOD IS 100% WORKING, BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR YOU COULD MESS SOMETHING UP. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ASK ON http://www.xda-developers.com/ AS THEY ARE EXPERTS.

Rooting also voids your warranty, so be aware of that. Good luck, I hope I helped you! Remember I cannot stress this enough, ask on xda if you have any questions. They are super nice and helpful. As for the partitions on the device, I don't know how to do that so sorry :(

Should I bother to root my Kindle Fire?

Even I shared a post to root Kindle Fire and add Google Play app on it b4, I still don't recommend the rooting option since it's not as easy as on ordinary Android device. If you really like to root your kindle Fire, check the detailed instruction here.

Does the first kindle fire have a camera?

No, both Kindle Fire 1st generation and Kindle Fire 2nd generation don't have a camera. The little circle should be the light sensor, to auto adjust screen brightness of the Kindle Fire.

Only the Kindle Fire HD has camera, which can be used for Skype video call or video/photo on other apps:

Hope this helps.
