What Are The Risks Of Taking My Friends Sleeping Pill

Can you die from taking too many sleeping pills?

Our body is tuned to resist death. Most poisons, therefore, are quickly vomited out, or detoxified in the liver or quickly excreted unchanged. So it really depends whether your body reacts to the drug in this way, thus prolonging life and well...making the overdose a bothersome, if not painful affair.Sleeping pills kill by central nervous system depression, cutting off respiration and circulation. In short, you choke. No asphyxial death is pleasant. Like I said, your body involuntarily protests against death, whether you consciously chose it or not. Then, you could also slip into unconsciousness and/or a coma and die peacefully. But this isn't a fixture. Then, if you survive, that's another ball game. Present day sleeping pills don't kill just as easily and due to improved medical access and facilities, poisoning has fortunately a higher survival rate. Benzodiazepines for instance are far better along the therapeutic index than yesteryear barbiturates like phenobarbitone. They also are metabolized quickly.Still, there is only so much abuse your liver and kidneys can take. This could stay for life.Actually, sleeping pills in combination with alcohol not only are more lethal than alone, but also dull consciousness enough to not feel so much pain. All in all, they are certainly less painful than say, jumping off a cliff or hanging. If you are planning this though, bad idea. Please seek help.Disclaimer: The above is meant solely for discussion purposes and any action resulting out of this information is not to be held against me.

Friend took 4 sleeping pills?

Yes it is too much since that is not the dosage that is recommended. Fortunately, four sleeping pills will not harm your friend. He/she is simply going to sleep for a while and wake up with a terrible headache or hangover type of feeling. The important thing is to find out why your friend took so much. Possibly he or she is depressed and needs to get some help before he or she takes more and really does some harm.

Make sure he/she drinks plenty of liquids when he/she wakes up and eats some breakfast. Then talk to your friend about what is bothering her or him to cause this.

What Would Happen if I put Sleeping Pills in my friend's drink?

Would he fall asleep like in the movies? aand if so would he like wake up if a slapped him or something? and how long would he say asleep? and how many pills would need to be in the drink [he's a strong fat dude & 41 of age or so] and by drink I mean like coke or green-tea, not alcohol. btw I'm going to put him in the front yard or something it's not like I mean to kill him or anything so I need to know if its safe also. he's my good friend after-all =] ((idk if it matters or not but He's also has diabetes.))

My friend took too many sleeping pills and she keeps Snapchatting me that there are faeries and tree men in her room. Is she going to die?

No. She's probably just hallucinating. She's gonna wake up w a hangover though. Pills give you hangovers too.

What would happen if we take 7 sleeping pills?

You’ll either wake up with a groggy hangover, or you’ll have a nice permanent dirt nap. The question can’t be answered (once again), because sleeping pill is a vague term—that needs to be more specific in terms of “type/dosage” of pill along with other factors that pertain to your age, weight and tolerance, etc. What if the person in question, had a friend who had just taken seven sleeping pills (which could have been anything from melatonin to benadryl, and he was trying to assess whether /or how dangerous the situation was? There are a myriad of scenarios that could account for the question. Even the worst case scenario did not anoint you as “censor.” I encourage you to update us when you have made contact along with a clinical and suicidal assessment. As a side note, I take umbrage to people who respond to these types of questions with indignancy, faux concern, moralism and shock (see below). The last thing that this Orwellian society needs is keeping little secrets from individuals—for the sake of showmanship. Whatever, the individual’s intent, no one appointed you to be the gatekeeper of the secret knowledge that only a certain group(psychotherapists) is privy to. If you’re such a concerned humanitarian, why don’t you reach out to the individual privately, and impart some of your brilliant psychotherapeutic assistance—instead of using Quora as a forum to shine. Though , knowing clinicians in general, that would be highly unlikely. Someone who dispensed the wisdom: “And don’t take any sleeping pills,” as the apogee of their intervention, would make me run a thousand miles, even if I was having such a problem.

If your pregnant can you kill your baby by taking sleeping pills?

Well, if it does not kill the baby, then there is a good chance that she can have a baby with serious mental/physical problems. If she happens to kill her child, then there is a chance that her baby will not be miscarried. Then she will have to go in for a procedure called a D&C. Nearly the same procedure as an abortion.

If she wants to terminate her pregnancy, she needs to go see a doctor at a clinic.

By doing what she is doing, she is not only putting the future of a healthy child at jeopardy. Possibly causing life long problems, what will make the child much harder to raise. But, she is also putting her own life at risk.

If a 13 year old takes more then 1 sleeping pill?

Hi. I'm 13. The sleeping medication I take is safe for children above 12. I usally take 1, and taking one sometime scares me because of side effects. So, I was just wondering. If a 13 year old takes 4 sleeping pills, will that put them in a coma.

DON"T WORRY! I"M NOT GONNA DO THIS! I'm smarter then to do that. I"M SCARED TO EVEN TAKE 1 TABLET!!

(this is for health class, I'm a safe child)

Does taking 4 sleeping pills cause any harm to the person?

Did you already take them? If so, call Poison Control (or dial 911 in the US, 999 or 112 in the UK ). If not, read on…Depends. What kind of sleeping pill? OTC (over the counter) or prescription? OTC probably won't kill you if you're a healthy adult, but if it's an antihistamine, the dehydration isn't good. Other OTC things, like melatonin, are likely to give you vivid nightmares.Prescription sleeping pills are another thing entirely, and here you really need to know what you're taking. Whether or not 4 pills is dangerous depends entirely upon which drug, your age, body size, overall health and whether there are other substances in your body that the sleeping pills can react with (such as alcohol.)Another thing, though, is understanding why you wonder about taking 4 pills. Four times the recommended dosage isn't necessarily going to make you fall asleep more quickly or stay asleep longer - that's what effective dosages are all about. If you're thinking of harming yourself, first of all, stop right there. You are a valuable member of humanity. Please call someone - a friend, a relative, the emergency numbers listed above or:1-800-273-8255 National Suicide Prevention Hotline (US)08457 90 90 90 Suicide Prevention Helpline (UK)Hope this helps.
