What Are The Three Main Parts Of An Atom

How can you describe the three parts of an atom?

Protons and neutrons are heavier than electrons, and this characteristic causes them to stay in the nucleus, while the electrons exist in a cloud around the nucleus. The cloud has a radius that is 10,000 times larger than the nucleus. The protons and neutrons normally have the same mass but can weigh more than 1,800 electrons. The number of protons, neutrons and electrons will differ from atom to atom. An atom of carbon will not have the same number of these parts as an oxygen atom. Normally, there are the same number of protons as neutrons giving the atom a neutral charge. When an elements neutrons begin to differ in number the atom becomes an isotope of the given element. Each element has a certain number of protons, which are used to give the element an atomic number. All the atoms of one element will have the same atomic number. The chemical symbol, mass number and more information for each element are listed on the periodic table. This table lists all the known base elements in the appropriate periods and groups.

What are the three parts of an atom, and what are their functions?

three main parts of atoms are proton, electron and neutronsproton has positive charge and functionality to made the main body of atom i.e neucleselectron has negative charge and atom make bond with other atoms through electronsneutons are neutral particles which functions to balance charges and made atom remain atom neutral :)

What are three parts of an atom and their charges?

We are doing a school newspaper and i am the "President" of it and we have a science section in it, but i dont know what the answer is, will you please help me!
thank you =]

What are the parts of atoms?

Fudamental parts of an atom areTHE ELECTRON i.e. NEGATIVELY CHARGED MASS- 9.108×10*-31 duscovered by RUTHERFORDTHE PROTON i.e. POSITIVELY CHARGED MASS= 1.672×10*-27discovered by CHADWICKTHE NEUTRON i.e NEGATIVELY CHARGEDMASS =1.675×10*-27discovered by JJ THOMSON

What are three parts of a nucleus?

1.nucleolus -- which contain a high concentration of RNA and protein
2.nuclear membrane--which is similar to the cell membrane in structure and separates the nucleus from the cytoplasm
3.chromosomes--long, thin structures composed of DNA and protein. That's where the genes are.

What are the two main parts of an atom? What are their functions?

If you have to divide an atom into two parts it would be the nucleus and its surrounding electrons. The nucleus has almost all of the mass, and is made of one or more protons and a similar number of neutrons. In an atom without an overall electric charge there will be as many negatively charged electrons as there are positively charged protons in the nucleus.‘Functions’: The number of protons in the nucleus determines what element the atom is. The electrons can be shared with other atoms to allow molecules to form in chemical reactions.

How do the parts of an atom help each other?

“Help each other”? Your question is way to anthropomorphic to answer . Electrons don’t have emotions or intentions. Do you mean, “balance each other,” or, “prevent instability?”

What are the three basic parts of an atom according to the electron cloud model?

The electron cloud model only tells you how the electrons move .. so that wouldnt change the basic elements of the atom... they would be

neutron , proton in the nucleus

electron orbiting it in the cloud..

What are the three basic parts of an atom according to the electron cloud model?

Still protons, neutrons, and electrons.
