What Are These Mini Blackouts I Have

Why do I have Mini Blackouts ?

The most likely culprit is hypotension...or abnormally low blood pressure. If your blood pressure is below about 100/50, your risk of syncope increases. You may also have an arrhythmia...where the heart doesn't beat in a normal rhythm.

I would suggest seeing a doctor and getting blood pressure readings as well as an EKG...as most causes of fainting are cardiovascular related, as I described above.

Dehydration and heat stroke can cause fainting as well, however, since in your situation it's a regular thing, I don't believe this to be the cause. Another rare cause of fainting is a brain tumor...again, since you've had this problem for years, this isn't causing your fainting either.

Why do i have mini blackouts?

i am 22 and i have mini blackouts but not often the last time i had one was about a month ago or less they last for about one min or less for an example i was sitting at my job and i was thinking of going to the window that’s when i blacked out when my vision came back i was at the window its like ten feet away from were i was sitting

Mini blackouts/ muscle spasm, what is wrong with me?

Does this seem to happen at random times or do you notice a pattern? My anxiety seems to always come when I am in a meeting or being trained on something, for example. If you do notice a pattern and it only happens during certain situations, you are probably like me and have anxiety issues. If it is random, then it may be diabetes, blood sugar, or an inner ear problem.

Mini blackouts when getting up..read on?

yep Your mother is correct. It is correlated with your low BP. picture it like this-> you are sitting down so therefore your heart is working less to pump blood throughout your circulation. Once you get up really FAST. Your heart needs to pump a little harder to circulate your blood since there is greater GRAVITY. So, you blackout because your not getting enough blood circulation to your brain. Simple like that.

Has anyone had an ativan blackout?

I was addicted to this drug for over 5 years and that happened more times than I can remember. Once I woke up on a Saturday morning and I was in a mental hospital. No clue how I got there. Several times I woke up sitting in my back yard in the middle of winter with cigarette burns on my clothes and cigarette butts all around me. Another time I was dating this girl and I sent her a huge long email saying all sorts of crazy stuff and I only knew about it cause she replied to it and I saw that I had written her first. I could go on all day. My brother claims that one night I walked a mile and a half to the store in my underwear at 4am, but I don't remember it. I made a jackass out of myself when I was abusing this drug, but I have learned my lesson and I don't take it anymore.

I have random very short "blackouts" what is causing it?

For about the past 7/8 year have these moments that last no more than about three seconds where it feels like i blacked out. I am still fully functional I will even have them while I'm talking, driving, walking, watching tv. No one even notices when i have them. I call them "mini blackouts" because even thought i may be in the middle of saying a sentence i cant remember what i just said and i feel a little light headed and have no memory of the past two seconds just like if i had passed out, but here lately I have been getting them more and more often they aren't getting longer but more frequent. I don't do drugs and don't drink but one or two days a week. What could be causing it I don't have a lot of money so I can't just walk into the Dr office and have them run a bunch of test like they live to do lol.

What would cause a split second blackout?

This sounds like a Petit Mal seizure- also known as an absence seizure, as they are characterised by a very short (approx 10–20 seconds) lapse in awareness. These seizures can be so brief that to an onlooker it appears the person is merely not paying attention or daydreaming. Sometimes the person may engage in some movement (hands still moving, chewing motion) or they may just appear to be staring into space for a short time. Once the seizure is over there is no real recovery period needed. The person will most likely resume talking or doing whatever it is they were doing, occasionally with a short pause while they regain their bearings.Of course your experience could be caused by something completely different, but if any of the above rings a bell maybe raise it with your doctor. :)

How much alcohol do you have to drink to cause a memory blackout?

Depends from person to person and whether you’re mixing alcohol with other substances (benzodiazepines in particular). Similarly, caffeine and alcohol can easily lead to a blackout. Caffeine makes someone stay awake longer and drink more, and wears off far faster than alcohol does. The old FourLoco drinks were called ‘blackout in a can’ for just that reason.Likewise, it’s easier to overdrink into a blackout if you drink hard liquor instead of beer due to delayed absorption. Think of it like this: It’s much easier to quickly slam down six shots of vodka than to slam down six beers. Not going to get into a discourse about the implications of frequent blackouts.

What is a diabetic blackout and why does it happen?

A diabetic blackout happens when you have either insufficient blood sugar, or WAY too much blood sugar. You black out when your brain cannot get enough fuel, or when your body is working so hard to empty the sugars out that you become extremely dehydrated.Diabetic coma - Symptoms and causesThe insufficient blood sugar version is usually from taking more insulin than you need, or in some cases, not eating enough food, or getting too much exercise. Some diabetes meds can cause your body to pump out more insulin, and if you don’t have enough carbohydrate in your gut being processed into glucose, and not enough stored, then you’ll end up not having enough to KEEP YOUR BRAIN RUNNING.The excess form happens when you have too much blood sugar and your body ends up dumping out ALL the water in your blood, which kills you by causing things like blood clots, strokes, or not getting enough oxygen because the blood is too thick to pump.WARNING:“Dr. Nguyen’s” response below gives all the information about Diabetes as a disease in a 200-miles-overhead kind of view, but then goes on to try to sell you his personal (and probably expensive and/or ineffective) personal treatment plan which he calls “natural” … which is a sales bullshit word that means “we know you don’t know why your medications work so we are going to make you think it’s something simple and easy. That means you’re more likely to buy it.”“The Diabetes Destroyer” — really, no, if you have type 1 diabetes do not even begin to mess with this kind of thing, and if you have type 2 diabetes, AND a good doctor, then maybe try it out with them watching to make sure it’s not actually harming you.For all “miracle cures” — Be careful, be skeptical, and make them prove that it works and that it’s harmless before you spend much money on it. Fraud is easy. Medicine is hard.If there really WAS a simple and easy “natural” way to cure things like this, there’s no way you’d have to find out about it as a “newly discovered” thing.

Why do I blackout, sleep a lot, and have headaches?

Not sure if these all tie together or not but my main concern is blacking out. I get up in the morning and ill walk like 25 feet (to go to the bathroom) and I will start to feel dizzy and pretty much go blind for 7 seconds. Its like a light switch with the knob to adjust the brightness of your light, it slowly gets darker then I completely lose my sight. I get so dizzy to the point I have to sit down or hold myself up so I don't fall (from losing my balance). I sleep a lot too and have headaches often. I am pregnant, but this was happening for almost 6 years now, so being pregnant shouldnt have anything to do with it. I know being tired and the headaches could be caused from that, but the blacking out, I dont think so. I get them about 7 times a day (better now than before cause I was getting them like 30 times a day back 5 years ago. Now Ill get about 7 but theyre literally about 6 times worse. My head feels like it has a ton of pressure in it and Ive been to the doctors before and they just told me to eat more salt, someone help...
