What is your favourite movie not in the English language?

“This feeling has possessed me, I think, from that day......that day when the stars came falling. It was almost as if......as if it was a scene from a dream. Nothing more, nothing less......than a beautiful view.”From the very beginning, Your Name starts out with a monologue about feeling something is missing in your life, like forgetting a dream and the thing is on the tip of your tongue but you just can’t quite remember, the nostalgia for another time.“The dream I must have had I can never recall. But...But.. the sensation that I've lost something lingers for a longtime after I wake up.”One reason why I love this movie so much is the sheer beauty of it. Live action movies can’t compare to the fact that each frame was drawn with love and precision- making real life, ordinary scenes romantic and special beyond compare.Doesn’t this world seem infinitely more pleasurable to live in then ours? Oh when will I be reborn into this true love anime..And in the middle of the film Mitsuha explores Tokyo- I love this part because it reminds me so much of Hong Kong- but HK drawn in this wonderful style- aND THE LIGHTING!Lastly, the soundtrack by Radwimps is so amazing and can be listened to over and over again. Its diverse too- from the rock and catchiness of Zenzenzense to the melancholy of Nandemonaiya matching with…The funny and upbeat parts of the movie… To the less funny and upbeat parts. The audience all believes in the bond between Taki and Mitsuha- all wants them to find each other. And overall the message is hopeful (unlike your other FILMS MAKOTO)“What is your name?”Both of them will get to know each other again aside from the movie’s happenstances. Both of them found each other, found the person who they were in their dreams, found the ones they were searching for.*cries*

Is Russian popular cinema from the last 10 years worse than the past? Why?

While some movies of the last ten years were exceptionally good, particularly those related to the World War II (Liquidation, Apostle, Saboteur, and such), they are just the exception that support the rule. And the overall quality of the cinematography in Russia  has been gradually diminishing. I would name two major reasons for that: 1. Profit maximization. It leads to minimal settings, poorly designed costumes, historic mistakes, sketchy scenarios, etc. Often it is visible that the movies are made in a hurry with no particular attention to details.2. Corruption. Corruption is a multidimensional phenomena. It led to lowering standards in cinema industry overall  and created a new generation of producers, directors, actors, and play-writers with substandard skill sets. The results of their work is of equally substandard quality. Unfortunately, the whole new generation of movie goers knows nothing better than that.  For them, it is the quality.
