What Are Your Favorite Nirvana Songs

What's your favorite Nirvana song?

Wow I have loads! >.<
Umm I think my top five are (in no particular order)

Plateau (Cover, Unplugged) - Its a greeeeeeat song, when I first heard it I had chills
Lake of fire (Cover, Unplugged) - This along with plateau and "Oh me" squeezed in the middle is just a perfect three song playlist
Love Buzz - Pure untainted nirvana
You know your right - A great song, energetic and the lyrics so obviously about courtney
On a Plain - I love the lyrics!

There is soo many more though. Just FYI to the guy who said Smells like teen spirit is a load of crap and was made for a joke... You are wrong buddy! They actually made that song because they wanted to make a song with a mainstream sound to it with the classic method of "Quiet; loud; Quiet" sequence (Often used by the pixies) They succeeced in making one of the biggest mainstream songs... ever!
Although the band never intended for the song to be that mainstream, this is the way it turned out and yes nirvana did often state that they didn't partically like the attention that song was getting them.... My point is, it wasn't made for a joke >.< In my opinion its still a classic song. Just because it is overplayed alot; doesn't mean its not a good song.

What's your favorite Nirvana songs?

Oh Me, Heart Shaped Box, In Bloom, Territorial Pi$$ings, Pennyroyal Tea (either unplugged live or studio; though live is awesome.) When my brother passed away, my mom chose to play Oh Me, Man Who Sold the World and Jesus...... from Unplugged at the funeral and was creamated wearing his Kurt t-shirt.

I've come to the realization that some people knowadays wouldn't know good music if it slapped them in the face and stole their sisters' pants (cause Emo kids like to wear their sisters' pants.)

fin..............

Cheap shot at Emo FTW!!!!

What your favorite nirvana song?

Their final, and best, was You Know You're Right.
Not only was it like a combination of In Utero grittiness and Nevermind accessibility, but it proved many things of Nirvana's legacy.
1. The song went to #1 on the modern rock charts, showing staying power and devoted fans. also, still beats out the modern bands any day.
2. The original recording was barely touched with production. The production it was given later was minimal (minus the last little "pain"). His vocals on the 2nd "things have never been so swell, i have never failed to fail" were brutal along with the chorus.
3. The 4th studio album could have very well been their creative peak. Chances are, they would've all pitched in on songwriting: something they showed interest in doing. The bassline drums guitar and vocals were some of the best in their career

Whats your favorite nirvana song!?

hmmm..."my girl"

it's simplistic, but chilling at the same time.

i also like their rendition of "jesus don't want me for a sunbeam" off the mtv unplugged cd.

Music Poll: What is your favorite Nirvana song?

Nothing they did was any good, musically. they sucked. They barely knew how to hold their instruments, let alone play them. NOT musicians in any sense of the word. Just hyped up, bogus crap a bunch of idiots bought into.

What's your favorite Nirvana song?

Depends, If your asking my favorite original Nirvana song its "Lithium"

But my favorite song performance, that would be "The Man Who Sold the World"

I like Bowie and his music very much, and I like the original verison alot but after Kurt performed that song, Bowie should have just handed over the rights to the song then and there.

What is your favorite Nirvana Lyrics?

One baby to another says I'm lucky to met you
I don't care watch you're thinkin unless it is about me.
---------------
Really like the opening lyrics to this song, but instrumentally my favorite song is About a Girl.

Best Live performance is definitely the version of Polly that is on the album From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah.

What are your favorite songs?

Hi, I know what you mean about not being able to pick just one favourite. My husband always laughs at me because my #1 spot consists of dozens of songs.
I don't think a bad song was written by the Doors, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Black Sabbath (with Ozzy Osbourne), the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac (with Stevie Nicks) Ozzy Osbourne (solo) and Led Zeppelin so it is very hard to pick the best song from any of those bands.

Here are a couple of my all time favourites
Tiny Dancer - Elton John
Songbird, Seven Wonders, Silver Springs, Sara - Fleetwood Mac
Moonlight Drive, Wild Child - the Doors
The Wall, Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Only Women Bleed - Alice Cooper
Get Off Of My Cloud - Rolling Stones
Man Who Sold the World - David Bowie (and Nirvanas cover)
Space Oddity - David Bowie
Evie (Part 1) - Stevie Wright
Slice of Heaven - Dave Dobbins (from the Footrot Flats soundtrack)
Sleep Now in the Fire - Rage Against the Machine
Don't You Forget about Me - Simple Minds
Cherry Pie - Warrant
Creep - Radiohead

Other bands that I really like are: Cat Stevens, Jimi Hendrix, Carol King, Black Eyed Peas, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Hole, Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters, Pink, Fergie, Powderfinger, ACDC, the Who, KISS, Guns N Roses, Faith No More, Ministry, CCR, Dusty Springfield.

I better leave it at that!
