Is Lila an old fashioned name?
It gorgeous! I dont hikn its old fashioned at all- how many Lily's are there around at the moment, and Lila's just a variation of that. Besides, if its pretty, who cares if its old fashioned! Names like Rose and Kate have been around forever but that doesnt stop them being fresh and perfect for little girls now! Go for it. Lila Rose sounds fabulous, and I'm sure your mum will ocme round. Naming styles change with individuals and with generations, she named you, you get to name your girl! PS I also really like Lila as there was a character with this name in a tv series I really liked (Nearly Famous).

Is the name Hadrian too old fashioned?
Thanks for your opinions, everyone. I am a history/literature geek, and having a love for such names is a big part of who I am. Lucian, Cassius, Ophelia and Adriana (Shakespeare!) are among my favorites, not that I would use all of them. I am not afraid about what others will say or think, and I will make sure my children know the history of their names, as they should. That being said, the history of this particular name does not bother me at all. ;) PS: I adore the name Avery! I have an American writer-pal who has a *female* relative named Avery and I was beside myself at this new idiotic trend!

What is your favorite name? Why?
I'm almost loath to put this on here, but it is my favorite name.JedelhaunIf you Google this name you will get a surprusing result. Sadly with me posting this it may not last longYour search - jedelhaun - did not match any documents. That's because it is highly personal. You see years ago my older brother got a speak and Spell for ChristmasIt had a random letter button on it, and one day I walked in on him hitting this button over and over to aee what it came out with. It came out with Jedelhaun. I think it was some butchered version of it but he sounded it out and said “that's a really cool name”At the time we would play many little games, one of the more popular ones was a fantasy dungeons and dragons style adventure. We would list our gear on a paper and the two of us would go outside, along the river, under the big cotton wood tree, along the trail and through the park go on our adveture slaying orc hords, skeletons and whatnot else that presumed to stop us.But somehow Aaron and Nate didn't quite sound as cool.“Jedelhaun” I sounded it out with an awe like that which King Arthur would have pulling Excalibur from its sheath.“you can have that one” Nate said with overwhelming candor. This is not what big Brothers norally did, and he did it.He found his own name through the Augur of the speak and Spell. And thus we had many a great adveture. He is a great Brother. Recently I had a son, and named him Jed in honor of my brother and the great memories we had.
