Okay, this is probably really foolish, but I'm feeling lighthearted. This is a picture I took last night to show my mother my new magnetic false eyelashes. I think they are slightly crooked, but it was a first try;Guys, I know who and what I am. Statements like “you look like a mom”, etc do not hurt my feelings.So, based on a first impression, what is my profession? My educational background? Family situation? My heroes? Have fun!

What does "buy a profile picture" tell me? It tells me: this is a place where I can buy profile pictures. Nothing more. It might persuade me to do so on the spot, but most of the time, I don't want to buy any profile pictures.A good punch line, pitch or slogan speaks to the imagination. You might be selling profile pictures, but that's not the solution you're giving your customers. Why is it said that a first impression is the last impression, but our image regarding someone does change when we get to know them?

This is one of those shifting sand ideas that psychology is full of.My general approach to applying psychology to the real world says that everything, everything, is conditional and contextual. If you are trying to accomplish anything in the presence of other humans, your most important discovery is the relationship between the humans and the context.For example, setting a first impression is extremely important in a conventional interview, where prolonged interaction is unlikely. Arriving on time, making eye contact (in Western culture), firm handshakes, et al. are vitally important.However, first impressions in say, a college classroom, are a little different. While a professor may get an understanding of you from the moment he or she calls your name, that schema can be guided throughout the semester. However, first impressions are notoriously difficult to eradicate completely. Complexity takes over and while the impression can improve over time, the original notion is often still represented.Time, the agents (or people), and the context will create a very crude, but decent framework for analysis.I’m not going to lie, I very rarely worry about making first impressions. I have confidence that I’ve prepared myself for any moment.
