What Are Your Thoughts On Hbo

What are your thoughts on HBO’s Westworld?

AFAIC, HBO’s Westworld (2016) is far, far, better than either the original 1974 Michael Crichton novel and movie adaptation and a better extension of Blade Runner (1982) than Showtime’s sPKD-inspired Total Recall 2070 (1999) or Denis Villanueve’s Blade Runner 2049 (2017).Created by Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher) and Lisa Joy, Westworld is smart television (sometimes too smart) that reliably makes use of Jonah Nolan’s penchant for unreliable narrators (e.g. Memento, 2000) and a cultural historian’s fascination with slightly dated science-fiction.Nolan either wrote or co-wrote most of his brother’s films – Memento (2000) through Interstellar (2014) – and his explorations of illusion, unreliable narrators and identity show up in Nolan’s small-screen work with satisfying regularity.Though Person of Interest (2011-16) ran a little too long and got a little too Matrixy, the show was a 21st c. love-letter to The Prisoner (1967). That’s the kind of creator Jonan Nolan is – a world-builder who enjoys making connected universes.

What are your thoughts about HBO ending their coverage of boxing matches at the end of 2018, and should it be a concern?

Well it's got to be about HBO profits. Showtime kinda kicked their ass when Mayweather negotiated the 6 fight deal and I don't think they ever recovered. If they were making the money they think is right this wouldn't be happening. HBO and Showtime etc are completely about money.I don't like to see it as I wonder who will fill in their spot. Monopolies are never good. Like Dana White and MMA. He has no real competitors and I think it has hurt the game. I don't mean to say I like having a minimum of four organizations with different rules but just one is like a dictatorship. I don't want to see boxing cut down on the big promotion companies that work through the Top Rank and Golden Boys out there.Yes I think it should be a concern unless there's another organization to take it's place. I see it as boxer to promoter to the business that is backing the fight … as in the HBO's of this world. Maybe Hearn will explode into the other weight classes. I don't see a good side.

What are your thoughts on the philosophy of Westworld (HBO) - Season 2?

I absolutely love the philosophy of Westworld (even tough I,myself, might not be understanding it completely). We humans are alone in this world for a reason. We murdered and butchered anything that challenged our primacy- Dr.Robert FordThe very idea of Homo Sapiens is put in such a way that it feels Humans are unconquerable. That nothing can ever surpass us.Evolution forged the entirety of sentient life on this planet using only one tool,The mistake- Dr.Robert FordConsciousness ,is at the core of the show. What is the difference between humans and the AI robots. What is that line which separates? When is it that we can call a robot living? We’ve managed to slip evolution’s leash now, haven’t we? We can cure any disease, keep even the weakest of us alive, and one fine day perhaps we shall even resurrect the dead, call forth Lazarus from his cave. Do you know what that means? It means that we’re done, that this is as good as we’re going to get. -Dr.Robert FordThe show makes us question if we should let go, or hold on? Clearly the next evolution is AI Robots. But what about us then?Even now I am not sure whose side I am on,the hosts or the humans. But the show never fails to disappoint me.Also it explores other philosophical aspects of a Human life, such as -”Who we really are?” People in the show comes to the park as guests and discover who they can be. It is a philosophical question even for us in real life.Spoiler Alert: Last week, the show explored the possibility of resurrecting the dead. And the human mind rejecting reality after being brought from dead. Its an interesting concept where a lot of thought process can be put to work.Lets see where the show gets to with these philosophies and which side it chooses in the end.

What are your thoughts about hbo’s recent release of leaving neverland?

Totally unfair!! There are so MANY other subjects to be addressed!!! Yea, child abuse is the worst, but this man is is in heaven now. Nothing should be televised like this where the alleged abuser has children, be it a celebrity or not. It is heartless, & a crime in itself to broadcast on HBO channel 4, I pray that it never reaches regular T.V. Paris has already had her fair share of heart ache, let alone all the Jackson children, it is NOT their fault. Have a HEART!!!!! So that you can sleep at night with out a guilty conscious!!!!!!!

What are your thoughts on the HBO documentaries Sexo Urbano?

I like them as well. I liked the one in brazil the most...
