What Are Your Top 5 Ethnic Cuisines

What are your favourite ethnic cuisines?

Indian. Cuisine. Always.Because of the SpiceIt’s the combination of spices that makes Indian cuisine special rather than just the heat of dried red chilli. Spice not spicy. A teaspoon of curry powder just isn't good enough. That's why I avoid made in Japan/China curries. They won't know that the marinade for Tandoori chicken comprises lemon, yoghurt and garlic with turmeric, cumin, coriander, cloves and cardamom? Come to think of it, this isn't surprising. India is king of spices. Abundant and varied to cater for those who love it hot too.Because it's HealthySome people practice healthy eating because of religious reasons while some really just want to eat healthy. With the traditional cooking methods and very healthy ingredients (fresh not processed) to make Indian dishes, Indian cuisine is one of the healthiest on the planet. Most curries contain turmeric, cumin, allspice, cardamon, ginger, garlic and capsicum - spices with strong anti-bacterial properties.Because of the FlavoursThe intoxicating spices and complex flavours make Indian curries one of the best foods to eat. The flavours rarely overlap. If it does, it is unlikely they appear in the same dish. Which is why each dish has its own distinct flavours and tastes. It's the clever pairing of ingredients that bring their own unique flavour to the dish, rather than simply blending in.

What's your most and least favorite ethnic cuisine?

Most fav -- Mexican (because I can have a chicken or steak burrito without the jack or chedder cheese both of which I don't like at all melted) & Italian (pizza and spaghetti with marinara sauce were always staples in my Italian family and I love them just not as much as a burrito -- period)(Mozzerrella is the only cheese I love melted)
Least fav -- Chinese and Japanese (because the healthy options of their beef and brocolli and chicken and brocolli taste nasty steamed and without the sauces they put on their regular beef and brocolli and chicken and brocolli)(I also can't stand lo mein, chow mein, chop suey, and fried rice from Chinese take-out places.)

Note: Chinese originated the noodles Italians adopted and turned into delicious spaghetti and linguine.

What's your favorite ethnic cuisine?

Italian, while it's good here in the US, nothing compares to how good it is in Italy.

If you had to rank your top 5 ethnic cuisines from around the world, what would be your list?

JapaneseSouth AfricanSurinameseSpanishIndianIt’s obvious that I really like curries, as 4 of the above include curry recipes.I know it isn’t in the question but I am sure no-one will mind if extend to 10, I like international cuisine so much that I don’t feel that a top 5 does my enthusiasm justice:6. Italian7. Greek8. Moroccan9. Chinese10. Malawian

What type of ethnic cuisine has the most gluten-free options?

If you avoid the wheat-based breads, Indian food is mostly gluten-free. So, too is Thai food. Much of Polynesian and African cuisine -- with starches coming from root vegetables -- is gluten free. Corn/maize-based Latin American cookery is also likely free of gluten.Basically, look to see how much wheat a cuisine consumes. If it's very little, then it's going to be friendly toward those avoiding gluten.

What ethnic cuisine has the most restaurants in the US compared to the ethnic population?

I will go with "Mexican"  since there are huge numbers of  Taco Bells, Del Tacos, El Polo Loco, etc. as chain restaurants, and huge numbers of non-chain Mexican restaurants also.38,747 according to this article...http://abcnews.go.com/ABC_Univis...Methodology Note: Data was obtained from the 2011 US Economic Census of the US Census Bureau. How would you rank the top ten world cuisines?

There is no correct answer, for everyone’s subjective impressions differs. De gustibus non est disputandum, as they say, or chacun a son gout. Since I can tolerate a fair bit of voltage, I would rank mine:Thai/Cambodian/VietnameseMexicanSpanishFrenchItalianChineseAmericanArgentineIndianHungarian
