What are some words of wisdom for teachers?

Teaching is like fishing - you will never catch all the fish. If you are really sad or angry about the fish you don’t catch, teaching will ruin you. And when you are ruined, you will ruin your students.More than anything else, you need to learn to work as hard as you reasonably can, and then, when you have done that:let them goIt’s hard to do. If you love your students, you’ll hurt when they fail, you’ll hurt when they drop out, you’ll hurt when they tell you to shove various sharp objects into your various orifices.Yeah, that’ll happen. But if you let that hurt rule your life, it will ruin you, and then you’re no good to your remaining students.let them go

What are the best words of wisdom to live by?

Why anybody needs confidence is essentially because the necessary clarity is missing. Where there is no clarity, one seeks confidence.Instead of trying to figure out life, you have to increase the profoundness of your experience. Career, money, etc are just accessories. You are so lost in accessories that you have forgotten what's the real thing."Being lonely" and "Being alone" is different. "lonely" means that you are longing to be with somebody but that somebody is missing. "Alone" means you have found your company very wonderful. There is only one enemy in your life. It's you. If you fix this one person, everything is going to be fine.If you have INTENSITY and BALANCE, you can create a better world. You are unique...not perfect and being unique is better than being perfect. If you make someone a reason for your happiness...you also make the person a reason for your unhappiness. If you are intelligent you will do what you love but if you are genius you will do exactly what is needed. These are some words of wisdom by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev which I have lately started to followed. We are indeed lucky to have a person with such kind of wisdom in our time. What are some "words of wisdom" that are important to you?

The most profound words of wisdom to me are these, Belief precedes all physical experience. Not many understand the depth of that small sentence. It speaks volumes to the human experience. The other statement is this, The future is the motivation for all action in the present, and the future is the source of all healing. Do not underestimate what an imagined future can bring into your life.

What words of wisdom would you as a mother impart to your teenage or twenty something son about women, and how to treat them?

This is what my son and I have talked about:First and foremost: respect. Treat them as you would want to be treated.Only date good girls. Definition of a “good girl”: does not talk about her friends behind their back, does not make nasty remarks about other people. For instance, you’re at a party and she has something snarky to say about various guests based on their appearance alone. Respects her parents, does not steal, cheat, lie. She’s there for her family and friends. She does not tell secrets.Do not date a girl who consistently expects gifts.First date: yawn on purpose. If she does not yawn in response…she may have a lack of empathy. Go on, try it, just picture someone yawning, or just read this and see if you yawn.Is she neat, or is she a slob? Date the neat person, eschew the slob. Messy room…messy thinking.Watch how she treats children, animals and the elderly. Kindness must be her motto. Is she independent? Does she take care of herself, or is she constantly asking for help to pay rent, or her cell phone bill?Does she take pride in her appearance? These are just some of them, most actually, but I think you get the gist.

What are some words of wisdom you want to share with Quora?

In 8th grade, I had a very, very hard time struggling with one idea, perhaps the idea that got me onto Quora:"Is there any meaning to my existence?"I searched and searched for answers. I looked it up, asked people, tried to think on it, but I just couldn't find it. I couldn't find a meaning for my life. I couldn't find a meaning for my existence. All I could think about was how none of this mattered. That one day I'll die and be forgotten and nobody will remember or care how or why I died, what happened when I was alive, or who I was.I couldn't find an answer for my question. I stopped having motivation to do anything for a couple days, because I just could find any reason to. "When I die what I do won't matter, so why bother now?"But then after the days ended I started doing everything I usually do again. I did my homework and studied and everything that I needed. I wondered why."Why am I doing this when there is no point?"And with that question I found my answer I had been looking for. There is always a point. There is always a reason to live.Your life is there for you to sculpt, and it's up to you what you want to make out of it.Because I was right. In the long run, there is no point. One day your name will be spoken for the last time, and all those who remember you will leave this earth the same as you did.But the long run doesn't matter. Nothing is permanent anyways.Because in the short time we have, we have the chance to live.To smile. To experience.Worrying over how none of it matters is only going to suck the life out of you.So just let it be. There's nothing you can do to change it, and that's okay. Some things aren't meant to be changed.
