Will AT&T work in Australia on optus net work?

No,
At &T is a big American network, phones for America will NOT operate in Australia as America operates on a completely different mobile bandwidth.
When searching ebay for phones to buy stick to listings for Australia only, that way you'll be guaranteed they'll work here.

Which is the best Australian mobile network and why?

Telstra has the best coverage and best data speed. Shame about the pricing. That's been getting better, as has the previously ordinary customer service. I have Optus on my phone and am constantly amazed at where coverage is lost in Australia's largest city. Telstra on my iPad has great coverage, even in the bush.

What's the best mobile network in NSW, Australia?

The best mobile network currently would depend on where you live and plan to travel. Telstra and Optus may have a wide network especially in the rural areas. However they’re value is utter trash. If you predominantly live in urban areas. Like Sydney,NewCastle and Wollongong. Go with KoganMobile. They have the best mobile deal in Australia right now. 5$ a month for 14GB of data and unlimited call and text which is pretty insane. However that’s only for the month of April and May. After that you have the OPTION of continueing to pay 43$ a month (which is still cheaper than most plans) or wattle down to a normal 1gb/5gb plan which is 14.79 and 24.65 respectively. However if you travel alot in areas that do not fall within the colours of this area and you use internet alot while travelling it would probably be better to go with Telstra or Optus . However if you just use it for text and calling, Kogan could still be a good deal.

I am in Australia. how can i get (optus Or Vodafone )mobile in cap(plan)?

The answer is the same as your other question.

You can't get a phone on cap because you don't meet the requirements for it (proof of stable financial situation, residency requirements etc etc). A plan is essentially a form of credit and if they are not satisfied they do have the right to refuse to grant a plan.

You could get a prepaid mobile and use a prepay cap, which has the advantage of giving you much the same functionality as the plan but without the contract, so if you no longer want the prepay cap you will not get stung for an early exit fee as you would on a contract.

You will need a form of identification (preferably photographic ID such as a passport/driver's license) to purchase a prepaid mobile, that's a requirement laid down by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

Which is the best mobile network and tariff for me?

Unlike the UK there is no additional charging for International and National texts so that doesn't make a difference.

Depending on how long you are staying, pre-paid is best for short-term. If you need to mainly phone other Telstra customers then best to sign-up with Telstra. For a pre-pay number you'll need to take several types of ID ie passport.

Vodafone talk caps of $49 for $250 calls seem to the best generic plans.

Im in Australia how do I call another mobile in Thailand ??

If your friend is on an Australian number in Thailand and on international roaming and you are phoning from Aussie....call the number as normal...

If they are on a Thai phone number will be 001 66, drop the zero from the Thai phone number and dial the number as given...66 is Thailands country code

ie if the Thai number they have given you is 081XXXXXX, would be 001 66 81 XXXXXXX

What is the best mobile phone provider in Australia?

The widely acknowledged leader for mobile reception in Australia is Telstra, however if you want to pay less than premium rates for this privileve, then consider the wholly owned subsidiary of Telstra named Boost. For $40 per month you get unlimited calls and sms plus a decent amount of data and also calls to a number of international countries.I'm no more than a happy customer. Now if you are actually going to be mostly in large metro areas, then any of the three major providers is likely to be acceptable (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone). Everyone else is simply a reseller for one of those three (eg virgin mobile).Hope that helps.Ps Prepaid Phones & Plans - Boost Mobile for the details.

What's the best mobile network in Sydney?

There is no ‘best’ mobile network in Sydney. The network coverage and speeds of the 3 major phone networks are all about the same.OpenSignal produced some ‘crowdsourced’ statistics which answer this very question last year although that’s not the only data point I’ve seen which supports the progress both Optus and Vodafone have made on network coverage in the last few years.Vodafone’s coverage is borne out in the statistics which show Vodafone’s market share is actually higher in Sydney than Telstra which might be a surprise.
