What Book Starts With

A book that starts and ends with the same line?

"Finnegans Wake" by James Joyce. It begins in the middle of a sentence, with the word "riverrun," and ends in the middle of the same sentence, with the words "along the".

Note that Joyce deliberately omitted the apostrophe from "Finnegans Wake," even though the old Irish-American song by that name does include an apostrophe.

Books that start at the ending?

What books start at the ending of the plot? What I mean is, which books have started with something along the lines of maybe a funeral of the main character who is alive later in the book or bob kills tim and the first scene is bob regretting, next is the action. Please do not mention Andrew Motion's book called The Invention of Dr Cake. Also I would be happy if it was a famous book. Thanks

The pages of a book starting with 1 and requires 3269 digits in all. How many pages does the book have?

This depends on the author. If a simple one, the total pages of the book maybe 3274 pages including cover pages, the publiser, photocopy information and so on. If the book have error during printing, the number of pages might increases as well. Not forget to mention about blank pages, the pages that written in roman symbols, the writer profile, content of book (title of each chapter) and glossary if the writer includes them too.So, my answer is simple. The probability of pages of book are:Book is written as “x”X is more and equals to 3269 pagesOrX is less than and equal to 3269 pages. (But this is kinda rare because error during page printing is rarely occurs. The range of pages of book will never reach infinity because the page of book is still countable. Hence, it is indescribable to tell the exact value of pages the book might have. The total of pages are more or equal to 3269 pages. This is just my opinion. This is only a probability. Ask the mathematician to get an appropriate answer.

What are some books to get started with economics?

Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt is a great place to start. I would follow with Steven Landsburg's The Armchair Economist and David Friedman's Hidden Order.Tyler Cowen and I have written a great (of course!) economics textbook, Modern Principles: Microeconomics. (I've linked to the second edition which you can get fairly cheaply). I would also strongly recommend our online course which is available without charge. The textbook will help with the online course but it is not a requirement. Check out the course here:Principles of Economics: Microeconomics

Whats it called when a book begins with the ending at the start?

Which book should I read to get started with competitive programming basics which has sufficient solved examples if I already know the basics of algorithms and data structures?

I have not heard of a book dedicated to competitive programming apart form Halim's book. So, most of the books will indeed introduce algorithms and give you a bunch of problems. Why don't you directly start practicing on topcoder or codechef? These websites have editorials for all (or most of) the problems. And its more fun than a book. You can also try codeforces. They don't have editorials (to my knowledge) but you can see other people's code and get a feel of what is being done. Also you can search problems by topic as the problems are tagged with relevant topics. Hope this helps!

I want to start reading books. Where should I start? I like fiction and autobiographies.

To be genuinely interested and read "greedily" like this is the last chance you would ever get is one of the most special feelings that you could experience. For that you need to narrow down your area of interest. Mine has always been fiction. Anything mysterious, that piques my interest made me addicted to reading.  Some of the best books to start with would be Harry Potter series - I am yet to meet a person hating this one. If you thought the movies are brilliant, the books are even better.Hardy Boys & Nancy Drew series - If you are still in your teens, this might interest you. The Godfather - This is a lot more serious genre, but age is not a barrier nor your experience. This book is a true championSidney sheldon collection - All thrillers, suitable for beginners (last two not an option if you are below 14) The song of ice and fire series - The books weave a true epic saga, with all the detailing and characterisation. It may be long, but given a little patience this is a truely rewarding read.Sherlock Holmes / Bourne series / James Bond series - All crime thrillers, and equally engaging in its own way. They are classics and has stood the test of time with each generation rediscovering its worth again and again. Jane Austen classics - If you are a woman, chances are that you will adore her books. Pride and prejudice, sense and sensibilities are few of my favourites which portrays the victorian times and the social framework then.      Swami and friends, Malgudi school days - R K Narayan is a genious and this is the book that proves it in all its simplicity. Clean language and an endearing lighthearted story, what more do u need?            Enjoy your reading :) Hope this was of help!

Writers: How do you feel about a book starting with dialogue?

I've heard some mixed things. Some people say that starting with dialogue is a definite no-no, but others say that it sometimes can work. What do *you* think? Why?

Thanks in advance for the answers! :)
