What Brand Of Fuel Pump Would Be The Best For A 2001 Gmc Sonoma

What is the normal fuel pressure for a 2003 gmc sonoma 4.3 L?

My engine cranks but doesn't start in my pickup. I hooked it up to a fuel pressure gage and it was at 60 psi for the first few seconds of turning the switch on and settled at 50 afterwards. I didn't try to crank the engine with it still hooked up though. Does anyone know if that is good pressure or if the fuel pump needs replacing?

Gmc sonoma has gas in oil HELP!!?

You have an injector(s) leaking down into the cylinders, causing the rings not to seat well or causing premature wear on that cylinder. It sounds like the injector in cylinder 4 needs cleaned or replaced!
Once you fix it, you won't have gas washing the oil out of the cylinder, compression should go up!

Firing order for GMC 95 Sonoma 2.5l?

I own a shop, and first of all don't you mean a 2.2L (134 cubic inch) engine? The only other engine they had was a 4.3 V-6. The firing order should be 1-3-4-2, and the cylinders are numbered (from front to back) 1-2-3-4.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Where is fuse location for windshield washer pump gmc 2001 sonoma?

MR is correct. The washer pump fuse is labeled FRT WPR 25A fuse located in the I/P fuse block which is located on the left hand side of the dash when you open the door

Easy way to check those is to disconnect it at the washer motor & stick a test light in both sides of the connector & have someone turn on the washer pump.

Can the fuel/oil pressure switch cause the fuel pump to not come on?

I own a shop, and have done extensive fuel systems work. Most GM vehicles are wired through the oil pressure sending unit (located by the oil filter, or top back of engine) and is done so as a safety feature. When involved in an accident, the engine stops running. As it stops running, it also looses oil pressure, and since the fuel pump is wired through this switch, no oil pressure equals no fuel pump. When you turn your ignition switch to the on position, you hear the fuel pump come on momentarily for 3-4 seconds. This primes the fuel pump pressure that may have leaked off, but does not run the pump. The system has a momentary relay (latch) that pulls in when energised to supply the pump with power, but once the latch heats up, the circuit opens, and if no oil pressure is there, the engine doesn't run. One can test this circuit simply by purchasing a spray can of carburetor/choke cleaner, spray 3-4 seconds into intake of engine (with throttle held wide open). Remove spray, and start the engine. If it runs for a few seconds and stalls, repeat the procedure. This test primes the fuel system, checks the fire from the ignition, and isolates the problem to the fuel delivery system. All GM systems has a fuel pump test wire (usually around the brake booster or left fender) that is red. Connect a 12 (+) wire momentarily to this wire, and the pump should run as long as you keep this wire hooked up. Many fuel delivery problems can be resolved due to grounding issues such as; no ground strap from engine to fire wall, or no ground at tank to frame. Even the ground at the battery (-) terminal has a wire that bolts to the body, and/or the frame that can cause all kinds of problems. Finally the fuel pressure regulator can have a vacuum hose that is sucking air around the hose, cracked, fell off, collapsing, or clogged keeping the fuel pressure from building up enough to run the engine. As always; One must have a clean fuel filter, no leaks in the line, and the return line to the tank must be free, and without clogs.

I need a fuel pump wiring diagram for a 2001 GMC Jimmy?

it's only 2 wires a red an black.

95 gmc sonoma 2.2 is overcharging, i think it is burning up my fan switch on the heater?

S10's, S15's, Sonomas, jimmy's, and all GM's with this style of heater switch are notorious for burning the high speed contacts on this switch. It burns up so often that even NAPA stocks this switch. GM really let us down on this one, sorry no fix, I kept these in stock in my garage as there were 5 of these vehicles in my immediate family they all did it. thank god they are all gone now.

Why am i unable to fill my 2001 gmc jimmy with fuel?

Could be the tank vent is not working properly, or it could be the filler neck and the nozzle don't like each other. Try tipping the nozzle down, raising the handle towards the side of your jimmy. depending on where I fill my company van, some will shut off 3 gallons sooner than other places.

Good luck.

How do you fix a fuel gauge that's not working?

The guage itself, or the wiring, or the sender unit is defective.Check the fuse in the circuit first. Check the wiring from the guage to the tank, and the earth . Remove the guage, and check how it responds to voltage.Remove the sender from the tank, and check the resistance is actually variable.Replace as needed. BE VERY CAUTIOUS with the fuel tank and any petrol vapour. One spark in an empty, vapour filled tank and you get a one way ticket to join the Choir Invisible.

2001 GMC Jimmy 4.3 vortec idle issues?

I recently bought a GMC from my sister the fuel pump went out of it 3 years ago and it sat for that duration. I just replace the fuel pump and in the process I had to replace fuel line yes I broke while was replacing the pump after I replaced the pump It took awhile for it to start my bro inlaw sprayed some ether into the throttle body it fired up but ran really rough. I figured was because it sat so long I drove it only 175 miles starting on a full tank and its now below a quarter There is a check engine light on so I ran the code it was multiple cylinder misfire, bank 1 to lean, bank 2 to lean I replaced the plugs and wires yesterday it still operates the same rough idle, cuts out when you push the gas and horrible gas mileage if any experienced mechanics could offer me any tips ideas? I would greatly appreciate it. Oh and my sister said it operated perfectly fine before the fuel pump went out. Thankyou
