What Brand Of Tea Can I Use For A Tea Rinse

Is it safe/effective to rinse your nose with chamomile tea? ?

I wouldn't use Chamomile Tea for the simple fact that there could be little chunks of the herb in there, and that's not water soluble, so it could get stuck in there and cause problems. Salt on the other hand is water soluble, so it will be absorbed into neighboring liquids if a chunk doesn't mix right and your body will take care of it quickly.

If you really wanted to try Chamomile, I would find out why it was suggested first of all... but if you're going to try, I'd use a liquid oil extract of it so you don't have to worry about anything getting stuck. Good luck!

Is it safe to use chamomile tea as a douche?

Douching with anything is unsafe.

Douching is very bad for vaginal health because it effects vaginal pH which in turn effects vaginal flora, it flushes away discharge causing drying and damage to vaginal walls, and it can force harmful bacteria further-up into the vagina - douching thus risks infection, higher risk of STD's and PID.

Please don't use douching, use a real treatment for yeast - either store-bought yeast infection treatments or there are home methods such as plain pro-biotic yoghurt (freeze in ice cube trays and insert into the vagina for ease and to avoid mess), garlic (single clove peeled and inserted), tea tree oil diluted in water to wash over vulva - to name a few methods.

Can I use tea tree oil in my laundry, and is there a recommended way?

Tea tree oil is an excellent, natural alternative to bleach when used in the clothes washer as an anti-bacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungal. Just add a few drops to the water during the wash cycle, and swirl around before adding clothing, bedding, towels etc.

Tea tree oil fights MRSA (Staphlococcus Aureus) aka the hospital super-bug, which is resistant to most antibiotics. It can be added to bathwater to boost the immune system, used in mouthwash and also for household cleaning. It has many useful applications. Unless used neat on the skin or taken internally, it is safe and gentle. Check out the following link, looking under the
Anti-fungal section for use in clothes washing:-

Why do we have to throw away the first brew of Chinese tea?

It depends on the tea and your preference.Green tea does not require the rinse. Green tea has a process of Rou Nian 揉捻 which pressed the leaves to break the cells in the leaves and let the juice attached on the surface of the leaves. So the first steep of green tea is usually the best, full of flavor. For black tea, rinse is optional depends on how you prepare the tea. I would do a very quick rinse but if you use a big teapot, you can probably skip it.For white tea, oolong, puerh tea, most people would do a rinse. Some people believe that tea get dust during the producing process so you need to wash it off in the first steep, but in my opinion, rinse is to warm up the leaves and ‘wake up’ them. After the rinse, the tea can give a better taste in the later steeps.

When I drink tea from tea leaves, do I need to wash the tea leaves first?

Chinese gongfu-style brewing often involves rinsing the tea leaves with a flash infusion. This video shows what I mean:In the video, you'll see that the lady pours boiling water over the leaves and uses it to wash the pitcher and the cups and then dumps them. The guy recording the video actually asks whether it can be drunk and she says in a mocking tone (rough translation) "if you want you can try it and see how it tastes!"The rationale is twofold. First, the rinse removes dust and possible surface dirt on the tea (maybe including chemicals), and second it 'awakens' the tea. Tea often takes time to unfold and one would rinse the leaves quickly to help it along. I often rinse and then let the rinsed tea leaves sit for awhile before brewing whereas she starts the actual brewing almost immediately after rinsing.
