What Can I Do For My Hair Its Damaged

Does hair dye damage the hair?

Yes. Haircolor damages hair. Depending on how exactly you define damage. Haircolor lifts the cuticle, altering the hair in a way that will never completely revert back to it’s natural virgin state. Hair that grows from the scalp will grow out normally with only the hair that has been dyed being effected. The benefits of this “damage” are that you have a beautiful new color and your hair may be a little fuller and voluminous. The detriments are that your hair may need to be trimmed a bit sooner. The damage resulting from haircolor is cumulative (as in the number of haircolors/processes performed and the age of the hair, heat styling, etc).A professional stylist can color your hair in a way that damage is beneficial and not heartbreaking.

Do highlights damage your hair???

When you get highlights, it is permanent, so when your hair grows, you will see your roots. If you want to cover your roots, then yes you will have to keep highlighting. If you don't like the highlight then you can just dye your hair back to match your natural color. On dark auburn hair, a honey or caramel highlight would look pretty and wouldn't look as harsh as bleach blonde would. Highlighting your hair is bleaching it, so yes that is damaging, but they have special color care shampoos now to help restore the processed hair. Good luck, and if you decide to do it, get it professionally done!

Does dying your hair damage it????

Yeah, it dries it out TEMPORARILY.

Get some nice conditioner to soak it in - I use Sunsilk Hydra something.
When you're in the shower for a few nights after you've died it, wash your hair first thing and leave the conditioner in while you're shaving and all that.
Then buy a shower cap, and before you go to sleep, dampen your hair, and put conditioner in it. Leave it in overnight with the shower cap. Don't do that if your hair is prone to be oily though.

Also, when you dye it, DON'T wash your hair for at least 24 hours beforehand. The natural oils in your hair prevent it from being damaged.

So, yeah, it's damaging, but mostly temporary, and NOT a lot.

Afters YEARS and YEARS of dying, it'll get kinda icky, but just ya know dull and whatever.

The best kind of dyes to use say AMMONIA FREE on them, so look for those. They look better, smell a thousand times better, and are better for your hair.

Do snap-on rollers damage your hair?

As far as I know, it doesn't look like it damages hair, because I have a set of my own and used it a couple times. But on some websites it says that snap-on rollers damage your hair. Is this so? Or does it damage your hair as a result of putting it in wrong? Thanks!

Does relaxers damage hair?

I most tell u that relaxer damages your hair. It's a chemical that doesn't enhance the growth but damages the hair cells. Once u relax ur hair it stresses out ur hair and makes it look longer but it really reduces the level at which it would grow. But if u think the length of ur hair is okay and u wouldn't mind if it doesn't grow so much again and also if u know u are sure that u would make enough effort to see that ur hair doesn't begin to break- cos relaxing hair makes it more vulnerable to breaking- then u can go ahead and relax it. But u have to be really sure. Be really really sure.
