What Can I Do For My Son Who Has Had Way To Much Alcohol

How can you tell if someone is an alcoholic?

I have a friend, my ex boyfriend to be precise, and we both work in a pub. We broke up because I feel lke he's drinking way too much, he drinks every night and often stay in his bar (where drinks are cheap for staff) till 9 or 10 am (after starting drinking at 6pm). He hardly eats, has lost a lot of weight, is gaunt etc. He also becomes very aggressive after drinking. I'm very worried about him. Is he an alcoholic? If he is, which I'm scared of, how can I help him? He won't listen to me when I say that I think he's had enough and there's no chance of me stopping him from staying for a drink. What can I do?

How much alcohol should get a 13 year old drunk?

I DONT want to get drunk. I've drank Seagrams beer etc before while at my dads. But I all ways seem to get drunk. I'm going to a party at my best friends house and do not want to get drunk, I just want to know how much would get me drunk I didn't really pay attention when I drank before. But if my mom finds out them I'll get in trouble. And please don't say oh you shouldn't be drinking and it could cause major health problems... I know I've been told.

How much alcohol does it take to make a 13 year old who has never drunk to get drunk?

Im not planning on drinking for awhile but a friend was wondering how much does it take for a 90 pound 13 year old to get drunk, and also never dranken before. Would a can of beer give you a good buzz under these conditions?

I am 23 year old, how much alcohol is good for me?

I know about Beer. I was discussing the same with my doctor. Me: How many beer is ok to drink per week?Doctor: It's ok to drink 1-2 beers while having dinner/lunch. It's recommended to drink it with while having food. - Take it as an appetizer before your meal.- Please don't drink empty stomach.- Make sure you are drinking good amount of water also incase you are,  water will dilute it.It's not recommended to drink Scotch/whiskey in your early 20's.Good Read: Three beers a day keep the doctor awayHope it helps!

How much alcohol would i have to drink to kill my unborn baby if only a week pregnant?

The thing is there is no set amount. She could have a few drinks and end up miscarrying or she could get smashed and nothing happen. The biggest worry should be what she is doing to this child. The first few weeks in pregnancy are the most cruital to fetal development. Anything that can interfere with that (such as alcohol) can cause serious birth defects that she wont know about until an ultrasound is done further along or possibly not until the baby is born. If she continues to drink she risks fetal alcohol syndrom. The sad part is you shouldnt have to watch her. I'm glad to see you at least have the childs best interests at heart. I had a friend who drank that that too and was pregnant. My friends and I all refused to go out with her or hang out with her if she was going to drink. She finally stopped however she lost the baby a few weeks later. Your friend needs to grow up and be responsible for this child. If she cant stop drinking for the health of the baby she needs rehab. Good luck

How much alcohol can a 12 year old consume before becoming sick or intoxicated?

it depends on several factors, the weight of the child, their resistance to alcohol, how much they have consumed before etc

for example, i am 200lb, have a high resistance and i drink far too much, it would take quite a lot to do me damage (on a short term basis, i am aware that over a long term i am doing huge amounts of damage to myself), someone who is 12 is probably far smaller than me (unless they are a really fat 12yr old lol) is far less used to alcohol (i hope) and will probably have far less resistance (because resistance is affected by many things, metabolism is one, and a child cannot metabolise drugs as efficiently as an adult, that's why doses of pain killers are given at far lower doses)

i would suggest that it would probably be a very small amount to get intoxicated from a 4% beer, maybe 1 can would be more than enough, a 10% shot might have little effect (25ml), but 3 would probably send the child to sleep, for serious short term damage (alcohol poisoning) 3 times that could be fatal (depending on the person of course, as mentioned before)

my advice is that if you are 12, don't drink anyway, but also at any age, if you do not know your own tolerance to alcohol, then drink in moderation and don't risk any nasty consequences

What to do if child drinks rubbing alcohol?

HELP? My 2 year old just drank a little bit of rubbing alcohol from out of the linen closet. He just learned how to open doors around the house. What do I do? What could happen? I don't think it was a lot.

I am the father of a 22 year-old alcoholic boy. How can I bring my son out from this?

Disclaimer : not every person who drinks is an alcoholic. The word alcoholic here is used for persons who are severely affected in their life due habitual drinking.Regarding alcoholism, there is a concept called ‘rock bottom’. As per this theory, true alcoholics do not make sincere effort to recover till they have reached absolute rock bottom conditions in their lives. I have seen this. Alcoholics need resources and ‘enablers’. They need resources such as money(primary) to buy alcohol but they also need a home, food and other creature comforts. They also need ‘enablers’ who because of emotions* such as anger, sympathy, pity, concern, shame, guilt, hatred keep providing them these resources. As long as enablers keep providing resources, the alcoholic will continue drinking till the very end. The families that learn and stop providing resources actually help an alcoholic recover sooner. This is a fact. How do emotion make a person become ‘Enabler’ and common people who exhibit theseShame(family): Let him drink at home otherwise neighbours or relatives will know. Some families keep providing money for same result.Sympathy(mother)- He can not help it. He had a hard life/never had a chance. Let him drink.Pity(friends)- He is suffering without alcohol. Let him have a little.Anger(father)- I do not talk to drunkards/ he is dead to me/ i wish he dies. This creates rebelliousness or takes the alcoholic out your power.Guilt(parents)- He did not have good company/we did not provide right resources/education etc. Shifting blame.Empathy(well meaning friends or neighbour)- Poor chap was doing so well, so what if he drinks? We all do.The strategy of letting an alcoholic hit rock bottom or actually make him hit rock bottom may sound cruel, malicious, dangerous but this is just bitter medicine. Every alcoholic WILL reach rock bottom, it is just a matter of time. Please be loving and caring but do not be enabler.
