What Can I Do If He Wont Eat

My nine month-old baby won't eat his food, what should I do?

My nine- month-old baby won't eat his food, what should I do? He has been breastfed since birth. Some supplements like baby cereal, fruit and pumpkin have been added to his meal since his seventh month. Now he seems to have lost his interest in these foods, he eats very little of them. …DO NOT PANIC. Your baby WILL NOT STARVE HIMSELF.Consult your doctor or the well-baby clinic, asking how to encourage your baby to accept the supplemental foods that it is normal for him to accept. You should understand that your baby LIKES to be breastfed and prefers the mothers’ milk. He does not want to change his diet, and this is a normal behavior.Ask the medical professional if it would be helpful to nurse the baby less than baby would like, so that his hunger will encourage him to take other foods. Also, you might ask if the introduction of supplemental foods was too rapid or too early, and if so, whether it would be helpful to start over and do this more slowly.

What do I do if my Iguana won't eat?

Iguanas need plenty of variety in their diet to get proper nutrition for health and overall growth. They need greens, vegtables and some fruits provided in a blanaced diet. Also do NOT feed your iguana frozen vegtables as they do not contain the proper nutritinal value your pet needs. Lettuce is a definate NO as it has no nutritional value whatsoever.

My iguana won't eat what he needs too?

ok elvis the iguana won't eat what he should. i know what he needs to eat but i can't get him to eat it. i know the leafy greens(no iceburg) orange veggie fruits only as treats. no animal protien. i have the t rex bulds in there too. but all elvis will eat is rasberrys and thing mixed up in jello. if it's pureed up in the jello he goes nuts i put the vitamins in there too. i keep getting mixed responses if the jello is harming him if he gets all the veggies in too. if not what can i do to get him to eat the veggies straight. i don't mind the money or time i got it. but how do i get him to eat it? he will eat rasberrys out of my hand and i tricked him into parsley once but he spit it out. i just don't know how to get him to eat it. i thought the jello was ok, couse he is still getting the nutrents of the veggies. i just don't know HOW! i know WHat but i need to know HOW. I'm babysitting a dog that won't eat?

I'm babysitting a dog for a friend and he won't eat. He is very clingy to me and he obviously misses his owner. How do I get him to eat? I don't want him to get sick or anything. He's gonna be with me for a month...how long do you think before he becomes more comfortable here with me? He seems sad and bored.

My toy poodle won't eat dog food, what can I do?

I hate to put it this way, but your dog is spoiled. Remove the things listed from his diet and make the only food option available to him dog food. It sounds kind of mean to put it this way, but once he is hungry enough and realizes that he is no longer getting any of his favorites, he will eat the dog food. You essentially need to re-train your dog to eat dog food again.

My dog is 16 years old and he won't eat, not even his soft food, and he's starving himself to death slowly. What can I do to help him?

I agree with the other comments; take him to the vet ASAP. If a dog isn’t eating, which all dogs love to do, there is something wrong somewhere. If any of my pets have any unusual symptoms, throwing up, not wanting to eat etc., I give them an overnight length of time to see if it is something minor that resolves itself, and if not, I get him/her to the vet immediately.Right before Christmas 2016, my 10 year old golden retriever came in from an outside visit to the back yard, curled up by the back door and looked “different”. I thought I should get some response from her so I offered her a cookie. She just put her head down and lay there, refusing the cookie. Well I considered my overnight rule (especially as she really dislikes going to the vet), but within a short period of time, my “Mom” instinct kicked in. It was 9:00 p.m. on a Saturday evening - my usual vet clinic had closed at 3:00 p.m. and wouldn’t open until Monday. There is, thank goodness, a different clinic that stays open until midnight, 7 days a week at the south end of town. I phoned them and they said to bring her in right away. I got my winter coat on and went to warm the car up and my battery was dead. Just what I needed.I quickly got on my computer and found a pet taxi service (oh what luck!!!), and she came and picked us up, got us to the clinic and stayed with us for the better part of 2 hours and drove us home again. Angels were watching over me that night. As it turned out, my dog, Gingersnap, had pancreatitis, we don’t know how it happened, but it did. And it’s not just something that makes dogs sick, it’s quite painful as well. Winding this story down a bit more quickly, they did tests, bloodwork, gave me a sack full of pills and liquid medicines, but had I stuck with the “Mom rule”, she may have had to be hospitalized, or I may not have had a dog to spend Christmas with. She is now alive and happy, thanks to the tender mercies of the dog taxi lady and the fortune of having a vet clinic open at those hours. (There is an emergency clinic in town, but it’s extremely expensive.)So again, I recommend seeing a vet ASAP, as it could be one of many things wrong with your dog, and you sure don’t want your dog suffering with something that could be resolved quickly. Please take your dog to the vet.

My dog won't eat her food, but she'll beg for ours. Why? She'll whine and go crazy for human food, but when it comes to dog food, she avoids eating it. It's as if she knows her food doesn't taste as good as ours.

If she doesn't eat her own food and she's not starving to death, I'll have to draw the conclusion that her strategy is working and that you are being manipulated into feeding her your food.......? ;-) Let me tell you a true story.I'd had a very shy dog here for two weeks to work with her. The day after she was back with her owners they called me. I wondered slightly worried if everything was ok...?"Yes, yes, she's fine. She's really doing much better. But I have to ask: since she's come back she doesn't beg at the table any more! We've been trying to fix that for two years and never managed; how could you make her stop begging at the table in just two weeks??""I didn't feed her from the table.""Oh..... Ok... We'll try that."True story. :-) In my experience fussy eaters who turn their noses up at all types of dog food have become this way for two reasons:They are given plenty of other foods and treats instead. They are not given enough exercise to work up a proper appetite. So the solution is, as is usually the case :-), with the owner. You need to stop giving her lots of other unhealthy food and stick to your guns with tasty, good quality dog food as her only option, and you need to make sure that she gets plenty of exercise and activity so that she is hungry when she comes back and you present her with the food. I also recommend feeding her before you eat, so that she has the stomach full when you're eating.Good luck!
