What Can I Do To Stop Itching On My Legs After Shaving I

How to stop irritated itching legs after shaving?

Every time my girlfriend shaves, her legs always get itching. I thought she might of developed contact dermatitis to the brand of razor she was using so I had her switch out but even with a new brand of razor she is still experiencing painful itching legs. It usually last for about 15 minutes and it pisses me off knowing she is very uncomfortable and I can't do anything about it. Its so bad she would drag her legs onto the carpet or use up half a body of lotion trying to sooth it or just continuously smack her legs.

What can she do? Shaving creams don't worth, lathering, softening up the hair, applying a thick cream, etc none of it works.

Legs itch after shaving?

i have never had a problem with this. i just switched to a new razor, and shaved my legs using shaving cream. everything was fine, but today i was in a rush so i didn't feel the need to use shaving cream. immediately, my legs began to itch badly. i dried my legs and there were bumps on my thighs. why is that so? with my old razor, i didn't have to use shaving cream.

Itching after shaving my legs?

Ok so I recently started shaving my legs every time I showered, I used to do it only once every 2 weeks(yes I know its odd but I'm married and he nor I really don't give a s***.) I use a Gillette Fusion razor and the Gillette shaving cream, I put lotion on my legs right after I shave. But recently my legs have been getting extremely itchy. At first I thought it was my new lotion so I went without putting it on for a day then put it on the next and my legs were fine. I haven't been shaving as much though because of the uncomfortable itch. The weird thing is the itch isn't that bad until I go to bed, then it gets alot worse. It only happens right after I shave. Have I been shaving to much, could I be allergic to the shaving cream or maybe a reaction between the cream and the lotion (I use Olay Quench Shimmer), or is there something else I can do to prevent this? I was just starting to love the way my legs looked and felt, I want to keep it up. Please help.

Why are my legs itching like crazy after shaving?

Okay, of course my legs would sometimes itch when I shave, but lately they ALWAYS itch, after every shave.

It started about two weeks ago, I shaved and it burned afterwards, and I didn't think much of it. So I bought a new razor because mine was dull.
Then I shaved for the first time with the new razor, and it itched. So then I thought maybe it wouldn't the second or third time, but it did.

It's only right after my shower, it'll itch/burn for maybe 20 minutes. But it's so painful and I can't help but itch it.
Using lotion right after shaving just makes it burn more.
I even tried shaving with shaving cream and just with water. It still burned.
I'm so sick of shaving and then having the itching pain, I absolutely have started to hate shaving.

So why is it itching so bad, and how can I maybe stop it?

I need a way to stop my legs from itching?

I had a similar problem when I came back from school camp... I had waxed my legs a week earlier, but I think the itching was related to the 80% DEET insect repellent that I used! Out of curiosity, do you have little red, inflamed hair follicles? I did... Anyway I didn't sleep for about 3 nights because the itching was so bad (and i had just gotten home from camp so I was exhausted enough as it was!) so I can empathise with you there. My short term fix was sitting with my legs in a COLD BATH whenever they got really itchy, just to numb the itch. I tried things like pine tarsle, but was unsuccessful. Phernergan is an anti itch tablet you can try, and I think it's over the counter. I ended up going to the doctor (who said it was a skin contact reaction, probably related to the insect repellent...) but what she did is prescribed me some mild steroids which are SERIOUS itch-killers. This made things a bit better...

So my suggestions to you are:
*Cold baths to numb the itch
*Phenergan
*Pine tarsle
*Doctor - I know this sounds silly but they can probably give you something to help.

As for the reaction itself, that will probably only go away with time. Hope I've helped, I know how much this sucks!!

How to fix itchy legs after shaving?

I shave my legs every day or couple of days with a disposable razor. I use a moisturising shower gel, and afterwards usually moisturise with Johnsons Holiday Skin gradual tanning moisturiser. I keep getting really itchy legs straight after shaving which usually lasts at least a day. Sometimes I'll also get a rash. I never used to get this, its only been recently but I haven't changed any products that I'm using.

What could I do or use to stop this from happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How can I stop itching after shaving my private erea?

Hello dear,Very valid question, you can follow some steps to prevent itching after shave:Prepare your skin :If you have long hairs- trim them with a trimmer first(very important)Wash with non drying and safe soap/body wash. Use warm water . This will help the hair to become soft and skin to open up the pores.Apply a moisturizing lubricant on the skin : Like coconut oil, shaving soap or gel and work that into your skin “DO NOT APPLY SHAVING FOAM as it dries your skin“Shave gently with the grain, here you can use Gillette Venus, or DE safety razor , make sure to use proper angle and do not apply much pressure, the preparation in step 1 and 2 should make the hair soft enough to shave off easily.Once done shaving, wash it with cold water to close the pores.Apply after shave balm “DO NOT APPLY ALCOHOL BASED AFTERSHAVES” which are used after shaving facial hair. These 5 steps should help you to prevent any itching or irritation. If you are using an oil to shave, make sure to do a patch test before using it to avoid any allergic reactions.A dermatologist can also help you on this.Note: These steps are tried and tested by me and different people may have different skin types, conditions etc. so please visit your dermatologist or medical help for knowing more. Thanks,Joy ( Joy Shaving from Youtube)

Legs itch like crazy after shaving?

Whenever I shave, about an hour later my legs itch so much that I end up scratching them till they bleed. I've tried using different razors, shaving gels etc but nothing seems to make any difference, what can I do?! And please don't stay stop shaving because stubbly legs are horrible.
Also, would epilating be a good alternative?

Two days after shaving my legs there are red itching bumps. What is it and how do I avoid that?

Thank You for the A2AThis could be due to many reasons. It could be your first time shaving so your skin isn't used to it yet. It could even be if you have sensitive skin. But mainly, I think it's because your skin is just irritated and hence the red bumps. If you notice that in shaving hair never comes off with the root, it just gets cut and starts growing again in a day or two and sometimes when hair is growing you will feel itchy on your leg/arm wherever you shave. It should go away in some time though. Next time when you shave, take an oil of your choice and apply it on your skin that you're going to shave and then shave it after 10 minutes. This should help you in avoiding these bumps next time. After shaving, it's a good idea to apply astringent. You can use Rose water  as that is a natural astringent. Make sure to moisturise your skin at night to keep it hydrated and nourished. If you want you can read more about rose water here: http://www.janeandsamara.com/?p=354 Hope this helps, Jane
