Bayes Theorem Statistics Q?

Ms. Bayes has a dog named Dorrie. If Ms. Bayes feeds Dorrie before going
to bed, Dorrie wakes Ms. Bayes before 5 a.m. only 10% of the the time. If Ms.
Bayes forgets to feed Dorrie before going to be bed, Dorrie wakes Ms. Bayes
before 5 a.m. 80% of the time. Ms. Bayes forgets to feed Dorrie one day in twenty.
If you hear Ms. Bayes complaining that Dorrie woke her before 5 a.m., what is
the probability that she forgot to feed Dorrie the previous evening?

Express your answer rounded to 3 places of decimal.

So I did let a=fed, let t=not fed.

P(A|T)=P(T|A)P(A)/P(T|A)P(A)+P(T/A')P(...

So I did=0.10*0.05/0.10*0.05+0.8*0.95
=0.00653
Does this make sense?

What is the best job for a masters in statistics?

It depends on what you want to become.A job which is best for you might not be the one for me despite both of us having a Master’s in Statistics. Don’t look upon the job as something which gives you more money. Have a more holistic approach. Apart from philosophy,The job you can get after master’s in statistics are “Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Analyst, Statistician”Almost all of them are similar to each other. Data Scientist is more of a management related and highly respected Job. It pays well too.The real job of a Statistician is generally used in market research domain, government domain, Bio-statistics, Artificial Intelligence.Other domains are Financial analysts, Risk analysts. All the above mentioned domains except for Bio Statistics can be handled by anyone who doesn’t have a statistics degree also. But if you are into research, PhD that should be a great opportunity.

What can I do with a master’s degree in statistics?

Quite a bit. Historically, the master’s degree has been the entry level statistics degree. Even as recently as ten years ago, bachelor’s programs in statistics were pretty rare, and traditional employers are still reacting to their introduction. So outside of young companies, it’s still a good way to get your foot in the door. There’s also some value in having a couple extra years of schooling. A bachelor’s is still only four years, and that’s a short enough time period that it makes it difficult to get into a lot of the core material in technical fields due to the heavy prerequisite structure. In statistics in particular, if I were to hire someone who was fresh out of a bachelor’s program, I’d have to plan on getting them educated to the master’s level, so I’d prefer to hire the master’s graduate anyway.

How many people have a masters degree? where can i get statistics?

I don't know about the world but in the US the percentage of folks with a degree higher than a bachelor's is about 10.5%

About 7.5% stopped with a master's degree and a little less than 3% completed a first professional or an academic doctorate.

Since there are about 307 million people in the US, if about 7.5% have a master's degree then about 23 million people in the US have a master's degree.

Add: They do indeed have master's degrees in other countries. They're actually a little more common in some European and East Asian countries than in the US.

Add again: The US data is misleading if you're attempting to gauge market value of the degree. About half of the master's in the US go to public school teachers who use the degree as a wage increaser. Their degree is most often in Education and not an industry marketable field. Removing them from the equation reduces the percentages by almost 1/2.

Taking calculus and statistics at same time?

calc three is easy, it is just an extension of what you already know from calculus one applied to multiple dimensions, you should be fine.

After a plain B.Com, can I pursue a master’s in statistics?

From the eligibility perspective, most universities across India allow students to enrol for M.Sc. in either of 2 situations -They have cleared B.Sc. in StatisticsThey have Mathematics / Statistics as a honours subject during their bachelor degree programmeN.B. - Most universities and institutes also impose a minimum graduation score of 60%.So, theoretically, yes, you can opt for an M.Sc. in Statistics after you complete B.Com.But the important question is to ask “Why?”. If you have a natural flair for mathematics, and number crunching, and somehow you were forced into picking up commerce as a graduation course, opting for M.Sc. in Stats would be a great idea to learn what you actually love to do.However, if you are just mulling the option thinking about job prospects, then you should take some time talking to professionals, lecturers/ professors, and take a proper suggestion. There are various legal, and accounting related job opportunities for commerce graduates. All of these offer good career growth, and handsome financial compensation .In case you have further queries, do let me know. I would try my best to explain these in detail.

Statistician career outlook?

Hello, I was wondering if there will many be many openings for statisticians in the future. Google seems to suggest a positive outlook, but I was hoping for feedback from real folks. And would a Master's in statistics be good enough for entry-level positions in statistics?

What is the reputation of an MS Applied Statistics degree from Bowling Green State University (in Ohio)?

Also, how does it compare against the MS Stat program at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and the program in California State University at East Bay?
Specifically, how do they compare in terms of job prospects? My background is an MA in pure Math from Central Michigan University(this is a small regional school, maybe Tier 3 or Tier 4). I'm trying to switch into Statistics from just pure Math.
