A yard of fabric is an awesome thing!Sometimes, while browsing the fabric stores, I will buy a yard of fabric even if I don't have a use for it in mind...especially if it is unusual or on sale.  I especially prefer cotton prints in one yard lengths as they are the most versatile. Here are some quick ideas for using a yard of fabric:Throw or decorative pillowTable runner, dresser scarf or cloth napkins and placematsQuick chair pad cover (this is a super easy, no sew project!)Small accessories such as cosmetic cases, wallets, card holders, luggage tags, lanyards, coin purses, tote bag(s), lipstick or lip balm holders, checkbook cover, pencil case, tissue holders, sunglasses or reading glass casesHoliday decorations such as tree ornaments, garland, wreath decorations, napkins and placemats (in holiday colors, of course)Children's accessories such as bonnets, diaper covers, sundresses or rompers Stuffed toys and animalsSmall garments such as short skirts, vests, tank tops and shirts A pouch for an aromatherapy pillow (great for fleece material), filled with rice and a combination of dried herbs like lavender buds that can be warmed in the microwaveAppliqués for decorations or quiltingHalloween costumes or cosplay garments (think: fancy fabrics like lace, satin, tulle, pleather, velvet and performance fabrics) Building your fabric stash for potential projects! These are just the ideas that are popping into my head, but you could probably find many more on sites like Pinterest or Instagram. So think outside the box and get sewing!

Do you really not understand the difference between fiber and fabric? I suggest you do a little tiny bit of education before you ask such an ignorant question. I’m tired of high school type questions being asked on Quora. Do a little research please and take responsibility for learning what it is you want to know. And then come back here and ask about what you don’t understand, and we will help you. But if you start off by asking what kind of fabric can be made from wool you are an imbecile.

What material/fabric should I use?

You could simply use sheer pantyhose, cut them up and make the face with that. it will be see through and skin colored. Otherwise you'll need a fabric called "illusion" a sheer knit used in making skating dresses, dance costumes and some evening gowns. It is flesh colored and see through. Some bathing suit linings are not see through, unfortunately. You can also look for a fabric called "power Net" and another called knit tulle. Both come in flesh colors, and are see through. All should be available at a fabric store like Joann's or Fabricland or other fashion fabric store.

A skirt, possibly Capri pants, Bermuda shorts, or a simple T-shirt top - depends on how wide the fabric is and how large you are. If you don't want to cut it, hem it and wrap it as a pareo (simple skirt or halter dress - makes a great cover up at the pool or beach). There are a few patterns in the catalogs at the fabric stores that talk about what you can make with one yard of fabric (shorts and sleeveless tops - usually) - but what you want to wear would influence which of those patterns you might choose to make. Some books on making simple clothing from simple fabric shapes might be available from your local library or cheaply off Amazon or eBay.What do you want to make? What kind of fabric do you have?
