What can I use as a downstem and bowl?
I am making a bong out of a glass bottle, and I need to know what to use for a downstem and bowl. Most people use pens and highlighters and that type of thing but what they don't know is they are breathing in toxins from the plastic, which is worse than smoking anything in general. So all I need to know is what I can use for a downstem and bowl, that is not made out of plastic.
What should i do i have a bong and the hole where the bowl goes is kinda broken and i was thinking of using a?
lol, I assume by "bowl" you mean cone piece? sorry, Im australian, different terminology. But if it is, you shouldnt use a rubber seal, it will melt and ****, then you got those sick fumes you know. try something like, blu-tack.... or some sort of non toxic reusable adhesive putty. it's the best for a quick fix til you can get a new stem or whatever. or just go home made for the time being, gatorade bottle, hose and a lighter lol. happy smoking!

Can i use a metal bowl with a glass bong?
You can. IF. If the stem under your metal bowl fits in the female stem in your bong without a "squeeze fit" it should work fine. Just put a rubber o-ring or a grommet on the metal piece and be gentle on the glass.
How to make a bong slide?
a pen cap wouldn't work it would melt...you going to have to make it out of aluminum foil...its hard to explain the best way to make it over the net but try this...use the pen and wrap the foil around the pen...then pull the pen out so you should have what looks like a straw made out of aluminum foil...but you have to keep on end of the aluminum foil straw loose...with the loose wrap the aluminum foil around your finger to make the header piece (where you pack it at) but you gotta make sure that the hole in the bottom isn't too big so your ganja does just slide threw...its hard to explain i've done it before and it won't work for permanent just as a replacement until you get a new one...just try it a few times until you get it right...the big thing with bongs is to make sure that its sealed where the header going into the bong to make it air tight
Can my elephant pipe be used as a bong?
I have an elephant pipe with the trunk as the piece to smoke from and it's back is where the bowl is and blah blah (anyone that smokes should know what an elephant pipe looks like) and i currently have a cold with sinus and a bit of a throat infection and I'm bored out of my mind and I just want to smoke and I was reading that a bong can be used while sick. In your opinion(s) or knowledge could I use it as a bong by just putting water in the belly?
Why do you need to remove the bowl/stem from a bong when using it?
It cuts the flow of smoke into the bong so that one can inhale whatever smoke has already collected.If you don’t take out the bowl or remove your finger from the carb (same idea) then smoke will continue to collect into the bong ’til you disconnect your lips and exhale, leaving a cloud of smoke left within the pipe, which will develop a gross taste within a couple of seconds, though you or the next in rotation can inhale whatever’s leftover if they please. Most stoners would just blow the leftover smoke out so that they may inhale a fresh hit.
