What Car Should I Buy Money Not An Issue.

If money is not an issue, which would you buy Tesla or BMW i3?

Short Answer: Tesla.First of all, may I point out the fact that you did not mention which Tesla you are comparing with the i3, so I will use the Model 3, (Tesla’s base model) to compare. This is the i3,It packs a small electric motor called eDrive that produces 168 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque. The engine also revs to 11,400 rpm. The i3 also sports a range of 115 miles, provided by a 33 kWh battery. Now here is the Model 3.It has options for single motor and dual motor models that range from 258 HP (Base Model) to 450 HP for the long-range AWD performance model. The Model 3 also sports a range of 220 miles for the base model and 310 miles for the long-range model.Which one would you chose?

If money was not the issue, would you rather buy an SUV for 12 to 18 lakh Rupees for or two cars in the price range of 6 to 9 lakh rupees? Why?

Cars in my country have one of the most expensive prices in the world Gopalkrishna Vishwanath, let alone to afford a SUV is above the standard possibilities of a typical Turkish middle class family. Even for upper middle class families like mine, it’s a waste of money. There are immense taxes on luxury goods and imported cars are belonging to this group. It goes like:Until 1.4 motor: 60 % luxury tax + 18 % VAT1.4 - 1.8 motor: 80 % luxury tax + 18 % VAT1.8 - 2.0 motor: 120 % luxury tax + 18 % VATAbove 2.0 motor: 160 % luxury tax + 18 % VAT+yearly insurance around 3 % of the total valueThis means a basic version of a Volvo XC 90starts by 80 lakhs in Indian currency and goes up to 1.2 crore.Forget about this one.Even a very cheap, small model of a mid class brand or model like the Renault Symbolcosts around 14 lakhs in Indian currency. But still the streets in Turkey are filled with all of luxury cars, especially SUV’s. I really don’t know where this folks gets this money, lol. When I was young and earning really well I had also the habit to drive the latest and most expensive models, but later realised, that this is one of the most stupid idea to waste valuable resources.First of all, a vehicle is something, which is losing its value in a record time. It’s not an asset. More big, more expenses, more expensive, higher cost of maintenance, extreme fuel costs and insurance.Let’s say you still want to go this way. What I should do with that in a metropol with very good infrastructure, no mountainous region and no enough spaces to park ? What is the meaning of it?This is a typical third world habit of, larger the car, bigger the ego style.Instead, I’m still driving my Skoda Fabia with just 3.8 liters diesel on 100 km/h fuel usage, not a single technical problem till now, fits in every park space and enormous agile in the city traffic.I could not get divorced with my baby.No thank you for SUV, unless I’m getting in future a farmer or a mountain freak :)..And if I have to decide between two normal cars or a SUV, I would decide for two cars, one for me and one for my future wife when I marry. But even this is waste of money..Spend it into your business and help some charities instead to poison the environment.

If money was not an issue, which car would you buy? Lamborghini? Ferrari, Mercedes or Bugatti?

Daily: Audi A8.SUV: Volvo XC90 Inscription.Truck: RAM 2500.GT cruiser: Bentley Continental GT — or maybe a Lexus LC500Sports car: McLaren 720S.Honestly, the RAM and the Lexus are probably the only ones here it makes any sense to actually own without an infinite money pile!

If money is not an issue which Jeep would you own, and what upgrades would you perform?

from a UK perspective, Land Rover defender 110 County Station Wagon. id uprate pretty much EVERYTHING. mainly because, if money is no object, i CAN. id rip out the (probable) diesel and fit something i like, possibly a Ford or Jaguar sourced V8, with some nice mods, uprated gearbox to handle the power ( i HATE autos), locking diffs, suspension lift/upgrades, bigger/better wheels, bull bar, winch, rock sliders, (incorporating side steps), polybushed, snorkel, roll cage (either internal or external), underbody protection (sump/diff guards etc), lights (plenty of lights!), upgraded electrics to cope, and probably a few other things ive not thought of right now. just because i CAN (and i know Land Rovers quite well!) all very nice but with prices how they are, id not want to damage it!so for something to bash around serous off roading, where it probably WOULD get some damage, because theyre cheap, a Ford Ranger with some similar mods (diff locks, sump guards etc, suspension/wheels/roll cage etc)Jeep as a brand, never took off here, the early cherokee 4.0’s were FAR too thirsty for most, with our fuel prices, and they seemed pretty gutless performers for such a big engine. the only one you really see is the little renegade (i think its called) which is a Fiat 500 with a Jeep shaped body on it and even THOSE dont sell in great numbers!

I want to buy a car, but I have no money. What can I do?

I am not sure what to make of it, you want a car or need a car. Want is something which is transient and you would keeping wanting something or the other which you cannot afford.Do remember a car is a depreciating asset and will lower in value over time while you would end up paying interest because you borrowed the money in the first place.Let me give you a quick calculation from a personal experience-I bought a new car in 2012 for 8.5 LakhsI sold it in 2016 for 4.5 lakhsI drove the car for 65,000 kms in the 4 years.Spent 50k on maintenance and insurance (It was a Toyota not very expensive to maintain)The car gave me an average mileage of 17 kmpl on diesel (let’s assume a price of 50 Rs per litre)Now comes the math-Cost per km - (4,00,000+50,000, + 65,000*(50/17))/65,000Final cost per km. - Rs. 9.8 (and this cost would have been more if I hadn’t driven more than 15,000 kms every year which is a good amount of driving who visits highways occasionally)Now Ola/Uber charges you Rs. 6 per km. Rethink if you really need to spend so much, unless you yourself want to drive for Ola or Uber. Then the math would change

If money was not an issue, what would you be doing with your life?

Welcome to Western GhatsWestern Ghats16000 km of untouched thick forest and a home to over 1000 species of plants and animals, I would have settled down in the woods. There are remote villages approximately 15 km away from the Cherapunji of South India (Agumbe) with no internet or telephone access and rains heavily in most months of the year.Agumbe — Cherrapunji of South IndiaBeing close to my hometown (Approximately 150 km from Udupi), this place is more like a home to me.I would go ahead to buy 100 acres of land in a remote hamlet, surrounded with paddy fields around the complex. The complex would be a home to various forms of arts, which is a taboo to students and parents staying in cities and aspiring for IITs.The Institution would be a learning center forMusicArtDanceI would build a world class educational institution which does offer education to students who are really dedicated to their passion.Art is losing steam in India with many students (willingly and unwillingly opting for courses which they don’t like). The institution would be a state-of-the-art school for arts, something on the lines of IITs.Now you might think why such a institution in a remote village. There are two reasons for the sameArt thrives well in the lap of nature. Unpolluted air and nature’s beauty helps in developing good form of art which would be an asset to the future generation.Western Ghats is a home to a vast diversity. Access to basic amenities is a major issue for the local people. This institution would make it a compulsion for every student to develop an innovative idea to solve human problems with limited resources. With an easy connect to the people with real life problems, it is expected this institution drives innovation. The institution would have 25 acres dedicated to arts while 50 acres would be dedicated to innovation centers in various fields like biotechnology, mechatronics, Artificial Intelligence, etc…Every student who graduates from this University would have a comprehensive degree in two fields, making them more competent in the competitive world. Students would be taught how to draw funds for innovative products, develop them, understand real-life issues, cope up with their passion, etc… which is missing in many Universities across India. This is my dream and I would definitely fulfill this if money is not an issue —- “Educating lives the way it has to be done”. No entrance exams, simply nothing. Just making life more valuable and simple.

If money is not an issue, should I lease a Mercedes C300 or BMW 3.28i Coupe?

My car lease is expired and I am shopping for a new one. Money aside, which is a better car? The 2008 Mercedes C300 or the 2008 BMW 3.28i coupe? They are different makes and models but I need help deciding and would like educated opinions on these cars.

Finances are irrelevant because the cars will cost me about the same. I would like honest, intelligent ideas on which car is better regarding their drive & look.

About me, I am a 27 yr professional living in San Diego. I own an internet marketing agency. I am looking for a car that projects the image of a successful entrepreneur.

What car would you buy if money was not a problem?

It depends which country I was in.In the UK, if I was sensible, I would generally get a Range Rover. 7 Seats, sports car handling, supercar power, masses of space, super strong light noncorroding aluminum body, and world class all terrain ability for that bad weather, ice, snow, floods, grouse moors, forests etc.In the US, if I was sensible, I might bow to social pressure and misunderstanding about what a Range Rover is and buy a Tesla P85DSince I'm not sensible at all, I'd probably actually buy something like this - I can see myself turning up outside the George V in Paris (or the Sacré-Cœur) after driving down from England after work and getting the valet to park that ;)I think that we are at the end of the era of internal combustion (and a good thing too - burning "irreplaceable hydrocarbons") - but this is a celebration and a homage to those mad, mad years.Actually - realistically it would be this . . .It might also be fun to own a Lamborghini - like this. The 7 litre V12 is bestAlfa Romeo MontrealLancia StratosJensen FF 4x4 (with HellCat engine prefered)After writing this a felt a sharp pang of remorse - if I had to have one car and JUST one car and use it for everything how could it be anything else - how could I have been so heartless to forget . . .The one and only . . . MiniMake mine a hydrolastic one in a Mk1 shell - with a fireblade engine . . .
