What Car Should I Buy With 76k

What mileage is preferable when buying a used car?

10–20k miles a year is normal for a car. If yours has lots more than that or lots less than that you are more likely to encounter problems.Milage is a really poor indication of a car’s condition. A 5 year old car with 25k miles on the clock is very likely to be a shopping car, lots of short journeys and lots of start-stop city driving which put huge amounts of wear and tear on a car. Whereas the same 5 year old car with 100k miles on the clock is very likely to have been driven at constant speed for long distances, putting very little wear on the car. Out of the 2 I’d buy the 100k one every day.

Which would you buy, an 09 Nissan Murano with 114,000 or an 06 Lexus RX 330 with 142,000? The Lexus is a grand cheaper.

Well the thing is Nissan is hardly to no longer a Japanese company. They are I think mostly owned by Renault now and as a result their reliability has suffered in my view. The Lexus has way more luxury than the Nissan. It also has that famous Toyota/Lexus reliability. It is also still a Japanese car.In my opinion I would save $1000, stay with a Japanese car and get that Lexus. It goes without saying when buying any car though to get a professional to look over it. Remember you never know how any car has been treated in it’s past life and it is best to get this check done.I say though you should be going for that Lexus. Remember Toyotas/Lexus cars are known for doing huge miles/kms.

Should i buy of Mitsubishi 3000gt (of any year)?

Im going to buy a new car and ive always had my eye set on a 3000gt (SL over Vr4 since itd cost me less). Any advice? How difficult is it to maintain this kind of car? its either this or a nice firebird (1982 - 1991).

How to tell how many miles a car engine has?

I want to buy a 99 eclipse and usually those car have replaced engines with the good engines but less miles. The car i found the person is tell me the car has about 145k miles on it but the engine was replaced and has 76 miles. He said the previous owner said it was replaced and has 76k miles on it. The new owner who is selling it says he only drives it once and a while and got it two months ago and is selling it cause he loves to drive his other car he has and doesn't have time for it. He said the previous owner before him didn't give him receipts saying the engine was replaced. How can i find out if it was and the miles on it? The odometer says 145k miles but i don't know if i plug it in the computer it will show the engines miles. I have the vin number so I don't know how that can help me other then try car-fax but i hate to have to pay for it. Is there a free way to get the car-fax my self online?

So please answer engine miles question and free car-fax online questions. Thanks

Should I buy a Mitsubishi 3000gt? Are Parts expensive? Good for a first car? 1994-99, Maybe VR4 if not then SL?

Jesus Christ, you kids are hopeless.

Hope you like taking the bus to school every 2 weeks while your dad rips out half the engine to get to whatever went wrong.

Kid, get a 4 Cylinder. I'm sorry but a Twin turbocharged, all wheel drive car is the last thing you need. It's too much car for you.

You don't wanna empty your bank account because you have to fill it up with premium, and you don't want a project sitting on jackstands while you're bumming rides off your parents and flagging down the school bus. It's not the most unreliable car, but with it being treated like I know you will, it will damn sure seem like it.

And don't like to yourself saying that you're gonna be a careful driver, because we both know that you're full of ****.

Buying a dodge charger with high mileage?

Im looking at a red 2006 dodge charger with 244,000 miles. The asking price is 5,000 and it has a 3.5 liter engine. I dont know much about cars but I know that it has VERY high mileage, do you think this is a bad deal?

2007 Chevy Cobalt LS -- Good first car?

I'm looking to buy my first car right now and found this one on the used car lots I've been looking through.

2007 Chevy Cobalt LS w/ manual everything (trans, windows/locks,etc)
32k miles
$7500
Drive train warranty until 5 years/100k miles (expires Oct. 2012)

Everything is good according to CarFax. It had one owner (local) and it seems to have been well maintained (oil/lube every 3000 miles/3months, tires replaced 09/09 at 27k miles, shock absorbers replaced 04/10 at 30k miles). I would rate it as very good condition -- the only problem I can find is the bumper was a bit scratched. No biggy.

I'm not picky at all about things like lots of plastic or looks. I'm mostly concerned about fuel economy and reliability.

Would the Cobalt make a good first car based on the criteria?

Im buying a bmw 745i with over 200,000 miles on it..am i in trouble..whatz d maintainance like for this car?

Sounds expensive just to do a oil change
