What Causes Fat People To Smell

Why do fat people smell?

Bigger people tend to sweat more due to having extra skin which folds over the other skin and produces sweat in between the folds. When sweat gets trapped it only keeps getting hotter due to moisture and wetness. This brings on the smell. They also have a problem getting every part of their bodies washed well due to being overweight. Does this answer your question?

Why do really fat people smell?

Serious answer then:

First, it is not all really fat people. You run across quite a few who do not smell at all but do not notice. The smell you are talking about is exceedingly distinctive and that is why you recognize it and notice them.

It is due to a chemical imbalance in their bodies that is not in any way caused by weight. It causes excretion of a foul smelling chemical in their sweat, over which they have no control whatever. There is no cure, no medicine to limit it. It strikes people of all weights, but the imbalance also has other effects, one of which causes one to gain weight as life progresses, more so than other people do as they age from childhood. So you usually find people with the imbalance to be at least mildly obese. But not always. In the older days of the army, post-WWII and through the 70's, these people were often ridiculed as being filthy pigs ruining life for those around them and given "blanket parties" and forced showers with harsh lye soaps. All to utterly no point as it only helps for a short while to shower. An hour later, it's like nothing was done at all.

That's why you associate the smell with people who are obese. Usually they just give in. It's like changing baby diapers. Horrible beyond belief for the first few months, but after a year or two, some people actually forget to wash their hands afterwards. They do what they can because they smell it too, but there's not much. The obesity increases inexorably. The worse the imbalance, the greater the smell... and the obesity. They go hand in hand.

If interested, observe really obese people more carefully. There are PLENTY about. You will find that very few have this problem. Remember back, to school perhaps, over the years and think about non-hugely-obese people you've known who always seemed to have poor hygiene (smell, not grime!) and consider if they were all hugely obese.

Why do fat/obese people smell so bad?

In my school (I am in 8th grade middle school and 14 year old guy BTW), there's this fat kid who sits with me in match class. HE SMELLS HORRIBLE. God, he smells like vomit! Even in science class when he was sitting in a table with some other kids, one of those kids told me that he smelled SO bad. And then when he was moved to another table for another reason, everyone sitting at that table was so happy. And let me tell you this, it couldn't be hygiene because he smells bad EVERYDAY!

Can eating too much Protein cause you to smell?

Hi I started to exercise January of Last year and I ate chicken, whey protein and oat meal everyday for four months. I began to notice my friends and classmates saying that I smell bad around April. I did everything possible to have a good (God like) hygiene, and stopped eating protein all together. But even today I have a funky smell to me (like sweat even about an hour after taking a shower)

So can eating excess protein (Everyday) cause body odor?

Biologically, what makes some people smell more or worse than others? What foods influence odor and how much do they influence it?

Body odour of any kind is caused by the natural process of sweating. Sweat itself is actually odourless but can remain on the skin. Bacteria that live on the skin then ingest the sweat, which breaks it down and causes an odour. Areas of the body with more bacteria - such as the armpits or the groin - tend to produce a greater smell as a result. Feet can also smell more but this is because of the way most people bind their feet inside socks etc, which creates a nice warm environment for bacteria to flourish. Body odour can also be affected by your diet. Certain foods, such as some curries, contain smelly chemicals which are excreted through the skin. Therefore, the reason why some people may smell more than others will be related to two things - the amount of bacteria they have on their skin and their diet.Reducing body odour is often as simple as a slight change in diet and / or more frequent washing, both of the body and of clothes (where bacteria can live - putting the same clothes on again, even after a wash, will simply replace the bacteria removed via the process of having a shower or bath). For some people, with very severe sweating, medical treatment may be required, such as botox injections to close pores, removal of sweat glands or removal of the nerves that control sweat glands.

Why do poor people smell so bad?

because they are too lazy to wash their clothes and shower

Why do fat girls smell like fish?

Its not that they don't clean down there. When you are over weight the extra weight builds up and causes 'roles' (sorry I know that's rude but I couldn't find another way to say it). The skin that is in the creases is basically smothered and stays hot so it sweats. A skinny person may only need 1 bath a day where as an over weight person may need 2 or three because of the extra sweating they do in between there 'roles'.
