What are some good Coursera courses for industrial engineering?

There might not be any. Or even if there are, they might not be well maintained. What I mean by that, is Coursera’s educational model based on the quantity of the users. So, basically, if there is demand, there is a Course. In most of the courses, you would have to have peers to maintain the chat room, otherwise known as the forum. There must be classmates to review your work since some of the Coursera courses are project-based and peer review is the engine that runs the examination. From my personal experience on Coursera, I have never encountered course in industrial engineering. I have seen a course on project management and something related to management of the teams on construction sites. But not exactly on the engineering. The two most popular, hot topics on the web are Money and Technology. So you would find a lot of courses related to Finance, Accounting, Cryptocurrency, Financial Management, Investment and a lot of courses on Programming, Algorithms, Web Development, Data Science. There are courses on the niche topics so to say. I’ve seen a course on math and banking. They’ve been deprecated, no students to interact with and the material is way old.My personal advice would be get enrolled in the top notch, bleeding edge courses on the platform. You would have a great time learning there and the knowledge you get would be useful in industrial engineering anyway. Because now, industrial engineer not only deals with optimization but with code, money, the psychology of the people and everything.Anatoly.P.S. 1.There are 3 courses (each course being 5weeks long)on understanding materials at a molecular level from MIT at EdX. Good place to start if you are interested in pursuing a career related to materials.2. Another course which complements the above course would be that on Finite Element Analysis which is available on Coursera although from a different university. This course is 15 weeks long. In addition to FEA concepts, you would also require basics of either python or MATLAB to complete this course, so you would be learning a new language(if not learnt before).3. There is a course on Product Design by TuDelft on EdX.This course is 7 weeks long where you would acquainted with the process of design as adopted by the university and has assignments that require you to use these methods to arrive at the solution.4. If you have inclinations towards industrial engineering, there are specialisation courses on project management on Coursera.5. This is ignored a lot. But there are Advanced Training Centres (initiative of Ministry of Skill and Labour Development,Government of India) which provide courses related to diverse mechanical subjects like Heat Mass transfer, automobile( servicing all electronic, electrical components of both diesel and petrol engines), Metrology, CNC, Took Design, softwares like Catia, ProE, Solidworks, MasterCam, industrial hydraulics and pneumatics, their plc programming and industrial application and many courses based on the curriculum. These are 1-2 weeks courses. If you are interested in adding certifications for your resume, go for the first four.( with brand name and other things). Go with option 5 if you want some practical hands on experience with machine components the level of which is usually not provided in colleges. Also is a great place for networking
