What Colleges Are Good To Attend If You Want To Get Into Medical College

What college is best for medical school?

I am debating whether to go to University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, or University of Indiana. However, I heard that it is really competitive and the chances of me getting into medical school is slim. (this true?) My dad wants me to go to Loyola University because they give out easier grades but I don't see myself going there... What to do? Which option is better for me in terms of my future?

What grades do i need to be entered in medical college?

Hey

1. You’ll probably be expected to get AAABB in your five A-levels or possibly AABBC – because your doing five

-My friend got AAAB from oxford but he was doing four so if your doing five they might expect something less

2. Extracurricular, an instrument, a club ( eg football or athletics or chess), work experience/ volunteering

3. BMAT or UKCAT- the test needs to be taken to get an interview kings college and ucl automatically accept candidates for an interview with 19/30 for the BMAT, seems low but it is a hard test

4. EXCELLENT personal statement, unis also tend to decide weather you get an interview based on this, bmat and GCSE score

Outstanding performance in all of these areas and you should be alright
good luck with your A- levels

Can students from private medical colleges prosper? Does an MBBS doctor from a private medical college have no future in life?

Never ever..if u have entered a private medical college then I guarantee you that you have been hit down.Myself studying in a private medical college..1st year…and my experience is worst. I have friends in government medical colleges also…tthey have a huge prosperouscand happy life.In a private medical college u are judged by your attitude, attendance rather than your knowledge and skills and especially your talent.Lots of work books records they simply give which is useless just to show other departments that they are superior in taking care of students(I.e, superior in killing and torturing them).Departments fight as who are superior in killing studentsAnd lecturers are so…fooolish that they think intellectuals in their subjects which of course I guarantee you that they are not.NO PATIENTS INPUT. .They write their own patients address so has to have MCI RECOGNITION.My friends in government colleges have luxurious life they bunk colleges just to read syllabus (not for other things..I guarantee you).lecturers their dont pressurise them in any manner. The reason why they pressurise students in private medical colleges is that lecturers earn prizes after academic year. FOR THEIR SELFISHNESS WE HAVE TO PAY.TOTALLY REGRETTING NOW THAT WWHY I JOINED A PVT. MEDICAL COLLEGE

Do homeschooled kids get into good colleges?

Yes, even ivy league universities like Harvard and Yale accept homeschoolers. Mostly you would have the same admissions requirements as public schoolers: tests, applications, essays, interviews, ets.

The only thing different would be how you submit your work in homeschool. That's why it pays to keep good records. Most will accept transcripts prepared by parents, or portfolios of work.

I have known quite a few homeschooled kids who went to college, my daughter included. Most of them around here start out early in dual enrollment classes part-time. My daughter did that from age 15, by the time she was 17 she took her SAT and had about 50 college credits under her belt, so colleges were contacting her. She ended up going to university as a transfer student with a full scholarship.

Can I join a government medical college this year and give AIIMS entrance again next year?

Yes, you may take exam again.Yes, it is not allowed. The catch is, no one checks your past history, once you reach counseling venue with appropriate documents. There's no point wasting one more year for college stamp. Branch is more important than college.Join AIIMS after your PG as senior resident/consultant/observer etc for work experience.

How hard (or easy) is it to get into a medical college in india?

It all depends on your preparation. If your preparation is like you want to top the exam, not simply crack it, getting into any medical college will seem easy. If you prepare like the others in your class, without any timeline, any hopes of clearing it, without putting in the hard work required, then you too will be like your classmates after the results, thinking how you couldn’t do it, and then you, just like your classmates, will proceed to do B.Sc.Summary: Study like your life depends on it, you will come you with flying colours, don’t do that, you will only have regret.I lived this story myself. I studied my 11 and 12 in KV, so you know the standard of students there. However, there were 2–3 students who were studious, but not in the competitive way. They always used to belittle me because of my low school marks(coaching doesn’t give you time enough for topping school), and they knew the fact that I was preparing for Medical Entrances. Among those students, was a girl, who I hated, since she used to embarrass me in front of everyone whenever exam results came. After the results came out(entrance), I cracked it, and as far as I know, she is doing B.Sc. in Psychology, whereas am going to pursue MBBS soon. She was also in Aakash, and didn’t even qualify the exam, but got 93% in boards. I got 82%, but will get into MBBS.Revenge is best served cold.

What should I do if I don't get admission in medical college?

Something else. The majority of students who hope to get into medical school don’t make it. You should declare a major and finish, at least, a bachelor’s degree. You could try grad school and another attempt, but if you didn’t make it the first time (I don’t know the actual statistics) you should be considering the possibility that your future lies slsewhere.Take an honest look at yourself, and try to understand why you didn’t make it. If reasonable, correct what you possibly can, and if you are able, try again. However, have a “Plan B”. You should have some idea what you would want to do otherwise, and if otherwise turns out to be the more likely possibility, decide when you want to persue “otherwise”.

Is Texas Tech University a decent college if you want to go to a good (top 50) Medical School afterwards?

Yes to both questions.

Don't fall victim to ranking a medical school. There's not a dime's bit of difference between the education received at the Medical College of Georgia and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. There can't be. All medical schools are accredited by the same authority and all medical student have to pass the same medical licensing exams. If 90% of students from one school passed these exams and only 80% of students from the other school passed, there would be intense focus by the LCME to identify and rectify the problem. Fortunately, the pass rates from all US schools are within a few percentage points of each other and have been, consistently.

Texas Tech has its own medical school, so you're sitting right where you want to be. The best chance of being accepted into a medical school is to do your undergrad at the same university with a medical school. Of course, the downside to that is if you earn a reputation that is less than stellar or you have marginal grades.

There are 2,618 universities and colleges in the US. Logically, there will be variances in the grading criteria, so it is reasonable to think that a 4.0 GPA from one school might carry more weight than a 4.0 from another. But it doesn't work that way. There would be too many variables. Certainly, the overall GPA is considered, but it's the corollary between the GPA in the prereqs and the score on the MCAT that are the scholastic determinants. So, if an "easy" school awarded a 4.0 GPA in the prereqs and the student scored poorly on the MCAT...Yo siento, no entrada.
