What Color Should I Paint My Walls

What color should i paint my walls?

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "maison blanche" (# 7526) might be a good choice.

You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

What color should I paint my bedroom walls?

The decorations in my room are black white and rose gold. I want to change the colors of my wall and idk what colors to choose. My dressers and desks are mirrored. My bedding is rose gold white and gray. My headboard is black. And I have no idea what to paint my walls I want it to be modern and pleasant to the eyes.

What color should I paint My Pirate Room walls?

I just bought a house, and I want my bedroom to be the CAPTAINS QUARTERS, like on a pirate ship. I have everything organized except for what the walls should look like.

Ive been researching on the internet, and everyone basically says something like blues and yellow work, cause of the ocean, but I hate that Idea, and I wanted to go more green I think (and more personal). Someone suggested like fake wood panels or something.

But if you look at like captain hook or the black pearls captains quarters they aren't anything like what everyone's suggesting. I was thinking something elegant or Victorian.
What do you think?

What color should I paint my walls? My couch is a modern 70's looking velvet green couch.?

I received your email and I would LOVE to help.

First off, it doesn't sound ugly to me at all! 60's and 70's furniture is so in and has become popular in modern design. And I love that you are embracing this color rather than getting rid of it.

Without seeing the shade of green you are dealing with the absolute best thing you could do (and I actually love this option!) is to paint your walls gray. It may sound boring but gray walls are very modern and a great neutral, it will really help to update your couch and keep you away from a dated looking space. It would set off the color of your couch and you could pair in with an accent color in your pillows and accessories. Possible accents could be a plum, blue or yellow. Definitely add white accents to complete this modern look.
My favorite grays right now are:
Pussywillow (SW 7643) ((What my bedroom is!))
Collonade Gray (SW 7641)
Gris (SW7659)
Knitting Needles (SW 7672)

Accent references:
Bee's Wax (SW7682)
Aqua-Sphere (SW 7613)

Email me a picture of the couch and give me more of a description of the style you are going for and I can give you a more tailored evaluation.

What color should I paint the walls of my living room to make them look good with a big sage green sofa?

The color that you paint the walls of your living room to make them look good with a big sage green sofa can depend on whether you want the sage green sofa to stand out from its background or to blend with it.If you want the sofa to look like it blends into the background of the room, paint the walls a color similar to that of the sofa or at least the color which is similar in brightness and lightness to the sofa color. Blending the sofa into the background of the room can make the room appear larger. If you if you want the sofa to stand out from its background, select a color which is much lighter or much darker than the sofa color, or the color which is opposite sage green on the color wheel, which might be a color in the red orange to red violet range.

What color should I paint my walls if I have a warm gray couch? It has small undertone of brown. I'm a fan of gray walls, but not sure what shade of gray to go with.

Neither knowing your sofa nor your room it is impossible to say exactly what color you should paint. Staying with the gray, as that is your preference, you can go for a neutral ‘greige’ (A gray with a beige undertone which works with browns too). Or a pale ‘purple’ taupe (warm ‘grayish’ tone.) You will be fine and your interior beautiful as long as you keep your color tones compatible and fairly light. If you can afford it, buy a high quality paint. A ‘full spectrum’ paint contains a large number of pigments. You will have a gray/greige that is ‘alive’ and reflective. (The cheapest consist of black and white (maybe a third pigment) which look ‘dull’.)The best plan is to take a swatch of your sofa fabric to a paint store and test it against chips of paintcolors. Generally it is best if walls are a lighter shade of gray, esp if you prefer a ‘mono-chromatic’ design and your room not very large. Paint a fairly large (min. 2′x2′) wall area. If you have only one window wall make sure you test the color there too (as it will appear darker and grayer there.)Use accent colors for throw pillows and accessories. Introduce patterns to break the ‘monotony’ of gray paint and solid fabric.Alternatively cover one wall in a patterned gray accent wallpaper. It is attractive and adds interest. You can pick the lightest color (or tint it even lighter if necessary) in a two toned wallpaper pattern (like below) to paint the remaining three walls. Choose the wallpaper first and then match the paint to it. Easier than the other way around. Any paint color can be tinted and/or toned, a wallpaper cannot. A good paint store will ‘computer-match’ and do the final adjusting by ‘eye’. That can be harder than it sounds esp. when colors are light and contain many pigments.

What color should I paint my walls if I have a red and brown quilt?

I like Thea Kvant’s suggestion of cappuccino. Another pretty, complimentary color would be a sage green. Below is a variety of sage green colors. As you can see, it can be warmed up with yellow or cooled down with grey. Depending on how light or dark you want the room or how big the room is will greatly affect your choice. All of the sage greens are beautiful and would compliment your quilt. Take the quilt to the paint store and see what hue looks the best. I know at my local home improvement center they have several different lights that simulate daylight, incandescent light, fluorescent light all of which greatly affect color. So you may want to take advantage of this if your paint seller offers it.

What color should I paint my hotel?

Assuming that you are going to paint every year interior and exterior, my opinion is for interiror regular latex based paint, and for exterior cheap acrylic paint. Why cheap? Because you can afford to retouch the walls all year round, and keep your hotel nice and clean. If you would use expensive paint, you may think twice before retouching.
