dye your hair a light shade of blond. Each time you dye it, it will get lighter. People say that this doesn't work, but I've done it. It will take a while this way but it's allot safer than using bleach or peroxide

I have naturally dark brown almost black hair and I used a box dye l oral excellence number 7 . But it did not change much of my hair color just reddish brownish tone added to my dark brown hair and I wanted a light brown color. How can I achieve that ? I'm thinking of never using a box dye. Im buying a tube dye so What color level should I apply ? And should I use a 20 volume developer or more ?

Well without bleach , It will come out a just a murky brown. If you are bleaching I would recommend using a 40 or 50 developer (50 is professional grade) you will probably have to hit it twice through, but then when it’s time for the grey it should take very well and be that white to grey ombré which I’m assuming is what you are going for

If you feel too much red has come through the dark brown, Then i would say to go ahead and just straight Dark ash Brown this time. And if you are not looking to cover any grey roots, instead of using a permanent Color this time around, go ahead and use a semi or demi. Apply from root to end, leaving it to process for about 30–40 min. This should do the trick.Good luck

My hair is dark brown with red undertones. I want to dye my hair multiple rainbow colors. Professionally of course. I was thinking to get my hair lighten first then later go for the vivid colors. I have been a brunette my whole life. My thinking is that if I get it all done in one go that they lighten your hair to a brassy color. Which I do no want. What is a good shade of blonde to go for if you want to get vivid colors that will last the longest?
