Other ionic and polar molecules are not allowed, for selective purposes. Osmosis and Diffusion happens with these. The proteins act as transport channel of specific kind of molecules. This is for facilitated diffusion and active diffusion(with the help of atp).

Feel the exact same way about the poor education from law school. I can tell you about the position that I am most familiar with -- Compliance Officer in an insurance company. Each state issues regulations for selling insurance policies. These regulations are updated frequently, some states put in updates monthly or bi-monthly. The marketing dept in the insurance co is always looking to put out new products. The compliance officer must take the potential new product and make sure that it meets the requirements in the states the product is going to be sold in. In addition most compliance officers will make recommendations as to what changes must be made for the product to be legal in a certain state. For current products, the compliance officer continually checks to see if the new regs effect current policies. Finally each state performs an audit on the insurance company -- again some are frequent. The compliance officer heads up the response to the state. That response is done by obtaining the proper info from the IT dept, and presenting the info in the format the state wants. States have been known to sue insurance companies over selling policies years ago that did not comply with regs. Then the compliance officer is part of the defense legal team. Actually a compliance officer is a really good job. If you work for a company you probably will not have the horrid hours that those in the firms do. The reason some compliance jobs must be filled by an attorney is that the work is making sure the company compies with laws. Go for it.

Capacity is usually how much something can contain within it, but I think in this case it refers to the level of expertise.Example: If you are networking, it will be pretty common for someone to ask, “In what capacity do you do this?” What they are looking for is your level of employment, function within your discipline, or what your position is. I personally think it sounds pretentious, but none the less, it is very common networking speak.I hope that was the right context. I'm just assuming based on the excerpt, but it really doesn't give enough information to know for certain.

This is a reference check -- you are being asked if you know this person, did they work for you, how do you view their work as an employee (did they goof off, not show up to work, steal from you, etc etc etc) -- that is what this means.
