What Corporations Hire A 16 Year Old In New Mexico

Who hires 14 year olds in New Jersey?

I'm 14 and I would really like to make some money. I babysit sometimes, but I would like to do something else as well. I know that most places only hire people who are 16 or older, but are there any places in New Jersey that hire 14 year olds? Thank you.

What jobs hire 15 year olds?

at 15 you can not be picky......................................
McDonald's is one of the employers that make an effort to work with minors and all of their special needs and request. most employers won't hire at 15 because of the limited availability but many restaurants go out of their way to work with those limits. when you go to apply check your attitude at the door and don't worry about what you won't do and focus on proving what you can do......................................

places you can work at 14 or older include:
office,
grocery store,
retail store,
restaurant(not just fast-food),
lodging facilities,
movie theater,
baseball park,
municipal parks,
amusement park, or
gasoline service station just to name a few……………….

different companies have different policies about hiring minors so just apply the worse thing that can happen is they say no. when you go dress neat, clean, and appropriately for the business, be polite and ask for an application and the appropriate time to bring it back. you will need references so talk to teachers, clergy, coaches, anyone you have done casual labor for, friends parents etcetera be sure to ask if you can use them as a reference and let them know to expect calls from employers

info about work permits, hours a minor can work, total number of hours each week etcetera got to:
http://www.youthrules.dol.gov
there are links for teens, parents, employers and educators for each state.

EDIT:
---simply,me---- great answer until you got to the age bit.
the age can be asked you just can't discriminate based on age for those over 40.
minors have to provide proof of age before they can work and must tell their age before being hired due to the legal limits of the hours of the day they may be scheduled. because of those limits minors can be denied employment due to AGE.

What clothing stores hire 16 year olds?

The reason most stores don't want to hire people under 18 is because they have strict laws they have to adhere to for minors. It gets to be a huge pain in the neck. However, since stores are beginning their hiring for holiday right now, your chances of getting a job at 16 is a little better.

It is all dependent on the specific stores in your town. I can't say that, for example, "ALL Gap stores refuse to hire under 18, or ALL American Eagle stores will hire under 18." It's really up to the store manager of that specific store. So, put in your application at places you would like to work, and see what happens.

As for your question about leaving after 4 months; is this your first job? Since you're young, it won't look as bad now, but as you get older it definitely will look bad. Especially if you have had multiple jobs that you've stayed at for a short time. It makes you look flaky. But, for now, with you being so young and it being your first job, I think you'll be fine.

Good luck!

Can a 14 year old work in New Mexico and if so what jobs?

In New Mexico you can work at age fourteen but you do have to get a Workers Permit before you can do so.

Can a 15 year old work at McDonalds? If so, what sort of jobs would they be expected to perform?

You will likely either take orders at the window, or be in charge of cleanup to start with. Most stores, don’t have set ‘positions’ as it were. You’ll be hired on as a “crew member”. Which basically means, you do whatever position needs done. The key thing for you is… take it seriously, and get to know you co-workers.I know it sounds odd, but the biggest mistake people make is they don’t take the job seriously. Too often people go in, do as little as possible, and then move on.Here’s the problem. All those other people there, are doing the same thing. You don’t know who your next boss will be. I’ve known people that got rejected from really nice jobs, because they worked at some crappy store, and treated their job like crap, and one of the people they worked with moved on to be a manager at a nice company. Then they go and apply for a job, and the guy interview you says “oh I know you. You worked at that McDonald’s 10 years ago, didn’t you?” and that was the end of the interview. But that manager remembered this guy was a loser at that store, and barely worked, showed up late, and left early.Don’t be that guy. That guy you work with, could be the best key for you to get a good job later. He may also be the brick that smashes a good job later. Be a good employee… work, and make friends with your co-workers.I actually had a lady I worked with years ago offer me a job as a manager, because she knew me from over 10 years before, when I worked at Wendy’s with her. I didn’t take the job, but that’s an example of how early teen jobs, can have a long term effect.Take it seriously. One thing, learn to talk AND work. The problem isn’t talking generally. The problem is, people stop working when they talk. Keep your hands moving. You’ll be fine. And one side note.If figured out that if I had saved all the money that I earned while I was in high school, and invested it… I would have over $300,000 dollars today. Actually that was some years ago I would have had $300K. It would be more than that today.Save your money wisely. Your buddies in school will try and convince you to blow your money on all kinds of crap, and the money will be spent and gone.Don’t follow your buddies. Save and invest for the future.

16 year old getting a job at a mechanic shop?

I want to get a job at an automotive shop so I can learn and actually have something useful than just flipping burgers at my mcdonalds job. except I don't know how to ask if they will hire me under the table. any good convincing things to say to get the owner to hire me?

Is there any way to get a hotel room under 18 (17 years old) in the US?

Every hotel may have in its own hotel policy a minimum age requirement, be it 18 or 21. However, there has been a trend with at least one lawyer having a 14 year old call the hotel; the 14 year old had his own credit card and state ID. With the hotels that refused to rent a room to him, the lawyer then took over and sued the hotel for age discrimination.Legally speaking, if someone was able to present all of the requirements that any other guest is required to present (we require only a government issued ID and a credit card), then if a hotel were to refuse, it could find itself under scrutiny.I do know that some states, such as Texas, that does have statutes on its books that allows each hotel to set a minimum age (even 25, if they’d like). Under this statute, it continues on to state that guests under 18 will have their parents held liable for any damages caused by a negligent child/Yes, I do know that minors cannot legally enter into contract; we are caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place on this one.I will give you the following reference to substantiate my assertions in this presentation: Jonathan Asselin-Normand .

How would you go about getting a coworker fired?

I ran a Quality department. The division was merged into another group, and moved 65 miles away. I was keep on for the 9 month transition. One of the new Senior Quality Engineers was talking from his cubicle to one of my previous customers.I could hear what was said, and I was shocked. He was ripping into them because he knew he was right (he wasn’t). In reality, I had a 3 year relationship with them, I knew that we supplied them with a key FDA approved component used in operating rooms. They were NEVER wrong. While I was technically “out of the picture” I started getting calls from the people I knew. I was able to smooth things over. The next time I heard him do it, I walked into the COO’s office (I was working directly for him) and said his new boss had to stop him from destroying this business relationship. The new boss was an idiot and wasn’t able to stop the employee he had hired. Third time, I brought in 2 others who also overheard what was going on and they also demanded the guy stop or be let go. We would not leave the COO’s office until it was resolved. The guy was out the door by 3PM. That’s how I got a rotten apple fired, but itwas too lateSide note——-The new QA Manager, was gone 3 months later.I left at the end of my obligation, then more people left and the division failed losing 80% of their business in 18 months because the CEO / owner of the company made a poorly conceived decision to move, merge with an unrelated group, and replace most of the staff.
