What Could Be Causing Random Lag On Minecraft

Minecraft Just Started Lagging?

Click ''Run'' type Taskmgr'' - or if you are running vista search task manager- Click ''Applications, Right click on minecraft and select go to Proccess, then right click on Javaw & set Priority to ''High'' it must be that u updated, if you were once alpha, and then updated to beta, then this might have caused this lag Problem, Maybe the Update you Installed wasn't really quite what your computer wanted or was able to use, maybe the update was too much etc. just go back to your original Version & everything should be back to Normal.

I keep lagging out on a Minecraft server?

It depends whats happening. If it's literally happening on every single server you join, than it's your computer. If it's just one or two servers out of a lot, then it's probably an issue with the server (low bandwidth, for example) If you think it's your computer, try buying a new graphics card for better performance, try a different computer that you may have in your house, or maybe even buy a new one!

Hope this helped :D

Many things in Minecraft cause lag so here is a list of why the lag is happening. If you're on a large map, your MC might lag due to your computer trying to download all  the chunksHuge number of mobs (includes players)You pressed too many buttons in the options menuSome of the screens from super secret settings can cause insane lag (trust me, happened to me like, 20 times)Too many commands being used at once.A really huge structure Your computer sucks   Some solutions to these lag problems are:Have a smaller chunk loading range (works for me)Delete or kill some mobs (impossible if it's on a server :P)Don't rush when setting your settings. Take your time.Just immediately change the screen settingTry not to use too many commands at onceNo way to stop a huge structure. Just waitGet a new computer. NO one even uses windows NT 4.0!   (J.K. I'm pretty sure you at least have a windows Vista)

Does the plenty o biome's mod make minecraft lag?

yes, only when you're generating new chunks or have a terrible computer. for future reference any large mod that adds a tons of stuff or changes world generation or mob spawning will cause lag. also the more mods you have (even if they all just minor tweaks) the more it will lag.

There can be varying reasons, BUT(Reason 1) Your device may be too old to support the game, or if you have a cheaper device (Nothing wrong with that, we all need to budget somewhere) You may not have the specifications to run the game. To run the game on a mobile device or tablet you most likely want to have at least 2GB of ram for a smooth experience, but you can probably get away with something like 1.5GB of ram. Your processor on the device should also be newer than 2013, to run the game smoothly, Most newer devices CAN run pocket edition. You also need to have at least 350mb or so for the game, and maybe more. ( That can depend on how many worlds you have and how much you explore on them and what you do)The game used to be easier to run, but as there has been updates to the game it has gotten larger and harder to run.(Reason 2) Maybe your graphics settings are to high for your device, and your device is getting worked up, perhaps try to lower them and see if that makes a change to your playing experience.(Reason 3) - [Question first] where you able to play the game previously? and/or did it recently update?If you where able to play the game recently maybe your device had an update, in which sometimes can mess up things like this. You can also try to reinstall the game if you have no luck with the previous reasons. Also if it was recently updated maybe try going back to a previous version.(Reason 4) Sometimes Pirated versions of the game crash and do not work, If this is the reason why, I would suggest actually buying the game..And if your really passionate, eventually save up for a new device ;)Good Luck!

What is causing these huge lag spikes?

"lag" doesn't mean what you think it means (you're using it incorrectly)

But, anyway, the problem is likely to be that your VRMs are overheating on your motherboard, which causes throttling on the CPU.

Why didn't this happen before? Because you had air cooling, which moves air over the VRMs and helps keep them cool - the water cooling doesn't move any air over the board.

Asus M5A78L doesn't have a strong VRM system, and the 8350 draws a huge amount of power - overheating is almost inevitable. You can mitigate by adding heatsinks to the VRMs or adding an extra fan to blow over them.

These heatsinks would work;

Greetings, reader. I have an issue with my recently downloaded Minecraft game on my Windows 10 laptop. Once I initiated a new world, I’ve had about 0 FPS, and could hardly execute any action in the game, and had difficulty even turning moving and was extremely slow. You might require the information of my PC specifications, and I don’t understand many concepts of technology, but I will attempt my best to understand, so I have about 4.0 GB (which I assume is what many call “RAM?”) and I’ve allocated about 2.0 GB to my Minecraft game using the launcher. I went into the newest version in my launcher and put 2.0 GB in the JVM Argument section. I’ve also installed a modification for Minecraft called “Optifine,” and it gave me many more options to improve Minecraft’s performance, but it still lags like it did before, but gave me a few more “FPS”, but still not enough to be playable. I set the render distance to tiny and is the lowest it can go, and even with smooth FPS disabled, it still lags extremely. I did almost everything according to the internet to receive more FPS in the options, and video settings, etc. Please, reader, could you bare any advice/assistance in making this game playable? And I could appreciate any help you could give me, reader! Thank you! And I hope everything in this comment could give you the information you need to assist me! It’s shocking to me that many Minecraft YouTubers receive high FPS. I’ve read that some people receive about 300+ FPS! It’s truly astonishing to me! Anyways, thank you for any help you could give me, reader!-Trent (person asking this question)
