What Could Be Living In My Attic

What would you hate to find living in your attic??

Sanjaya. Then I could never get away from his 'singing'. Ugh!

What do you think is living on top of my attic?

We had rats in our attic that would slip in and out between the spaces in the roof tiles. We never knew what they were doing up there, but it sounded like they were bowling. Are you sure the noises are coming from the top of your roof and not an attic space? Unless you have cathedral ceilings, you are likely to have some attic space. If so, you can put on a dust mask and check the attic for animal droppings. That may help identify the animals, and may point the way to eliminating the intruders.

I think there is someone living in my attic.?

I moved into a new apartment about 6 months ago. I would like to point out that in my individual apartment I do not have an attic access, but at the top of the stairway there is what is obviously an access to an attic/roof area that one could reach with a small ladder if there wasn't one already built into the hatch. And I'm assuming because it's right below the roof the floor in this attic area would be walkable so they can do work on the inside of the roof if needed.

Since I've moved in I've heard loud stomping and grinding noises from above me. And they only come at nighttime 10:45pm-4:00am. I'm on the top floor and the only thing above me should be the some empty space and the roof of the building.

I told my friend about my concerns but she said "it's just the building shifting because it's new." This calmed me down until I realized that I sometimes crash in my friend apartment (he lives in the same building on the floor below mine) and I never hear any noises. And that if the building is shifting it should be making noise throughout the day, but I've never heard anything from the roof during the day, only later at night.

But still I convinced myself I was just being crazy. Then not 10 minutes ago I heard as clear as day the sound of sever stomps coming from overtop me, these were obviously stomps and they sounded like they got closer and closer then further and further, as if someone was running from one side to the other and this has rekindled my fear.

What do I do?

What type of animal is living in my attic?

I currently live with my parents in the attic of their house. Recently I have noticed something running around at night in my ceiling. The other night I hit my ceiling where I could hear the animal and it made a sort of buzzing/vibrating noise back at me (not quite a growl, but almost like insect wings buzzing). Whatever it is it's big. Then as of the past few days I can not only hear them in my ceiling but they are in the room now and I can hear them rustling around on the floor next to me and making that same buzzing type noise. I am scared to death of rodents and am afraid to look in it's direction when I hear it moving around the room by me and usually throw something in the general direction of it to get it to stop for awhile. My room is currently a mess with a lot of stacks of papers and other junk I need to go through and get rid of, but now I'm afraid to even start cleaning up and organizing anything because I don't want to confront whatever these mystery creature(s) are (I imagine something horrible). I was thinking mice at first, then raccoon in the ceiling because of the size, but the noise it makes now has me stumped. It sounds like wings buzzing, but I doubt bats because whatever it is stays on the floor and doesn't fly. Does anyone know what it could be? Do rats or mice make any kind of noise like that?

Can skunks live in the attic?

We live in a condo (3rd floor) which is the top floor. We moved in like in august, and we have an attic that we dont use let alone see what's inside. Recently weve been waking up to the smell of skunk(and it's only in the condo), and it's been happening like every other day. Sometimes won't happen weeks at a time. So I wanna know can skunks live in the attic? How did they get in there?

I think there is an owl living in my attic??? What are the chances?!?!?

On two occasions, one being yesterday. I've heard a loud noise coming from the back of my home, and when I look outside there was an owl sitting on my back fence. When this happened the second time, I started to wonder where is the owl coming from and what exactly is that noise. My house is only 4.5 years old, and when i went into the backyard there were no openings. The noise I've heard both times sounds like crashing metal. I think he is in the attic during the day and comes out at night. Ive only seen him and heard the noise when the sun is just setting. I live alone with a child, so NO im not going to check the attic. Owls are known for being violent. If the owl is up there, what kind of damage can they cause and what is he doing? what are the chances of eggs? If i were to go into the attic while the owl is there and turn on the lights, what will be his reaction?

I have a scary midget living in my attic and I don't know him what do I do?

He's very scary and small so he can easily allude me when i set a trap he outsmarts me and still eats the cheese, I don't know how he got in my attic or where he came from, what should I do?

Is it ok to let raccoons live in my attic?

To start with, raccoons CANNOT BE DOMESTICATED, kits, the young raccoon, may seem friendly and cuddly but they get older and become wild again. They harbor many diseases including rabies and their fleas can also carry diseases such as plague. They are extremely messy eaters in a closed system, they need water to dip their food in which is not to clean it (a common misconception) they are not dipping their food because they have poor saliva glands, they are actually dipping their sensitive front paws to soften the protective thin horny layer which becomes pliable increasing sensitivity. The short of it is they are fun to watch in the wild, they are great to trap for their fur and they may even bring some pleasure if kept in outside pens BUT THEY CAN NEVER BE PETS.

Is it possible that someone can be living in the vents/attic of my house?

I sound crazy but this is all I can think of. Here's why I think this: A few months ago, I went upstairs to look for my dog to give her a bath. I went into my parents' bedroom and heard snoring. The lights were on (because I was in there previously playing with my dog and didn't turn them off). No one was in the room, no one was in their closets, no one was in their bathroom. Everyone was downstairs. I ran down and told my family about what I experienced and they just shrugged it off. My mom also reported hair all in her bathroom tub, even though she cleaned it earlier in the day and no one was home at all during the day. Just now/a few minutes ago, I looked up onto my ceiling and saw a light coming from inside one of the vents. I know. I sound REALLY crazy when I even think to myself "Maybe there's someone living in these vents..." but how is that even possible?
