What Could Be Wrong With My Jeep Wouldn

My car won't go over 10mph what's wrong?

Sounds like low fuel pressure,or a restricted fuel line.
Repair all cracked and leaking vacuum lines under the hood.
Could be a vacuum leak in the map sensor vacuum line.
Exhaust could be plugged
Consider a fuel filter change

Jeep Wrangler pulling power

You will have a lot of trailer sway unless you get a 4 door then it wouldn't be so bad.A properly equiped(3.73 gear and towing package) 07-08 4 door Wrangler has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs.If you have a 2 door Wrangler I wouldn't even try it,too much trailer sway.

I got an oil change and now my jeep wont start.?

I reacently took my 1998 jeep wrangler Sahara into the local pep boys for an oil change. after paying the technition asked me if i had any aftermarket security stytems on my jeep because it wont start. i do have an aftermarket alarm, but it has been installed for neerly 7 years with no problem. after i had gotten my jeep home i went to use it later that day and it still wouldent start. i had to call pep boys to find out that they had to push start it. i feel like their trying to rip me off, so i want to fix it myself. today i rented an acetron autoscanner to try to find out the problem. No codes have appeared. anyone know whats wrong with my jeep?

My 2007 jeep compass won't start?

If you hear it turning over then the starter and fuel pump should be fine. If you hear it sounding like its just not catching anything when you try to start then its the fuel pump or starter. If its not catching or turning, even for a second then it's the fuel pump for sure because without that it doesn't have any gasoline to ignite the engine. The radio and lights work because those are battery operated. Even if the car was 100% out of gas the lights and radio would work if the battery was ok. So that narrows it down to one of the two. You are saying you can hear it trying i start so my final guess is the fuel pump. About 20-30 dollars for that piece. And where are you living that you have snow already?!? Doesn't matter. First go check the fuse box and look for the fuse labeled "fuel pump". If its clear you will be able to see if the little arch under the plastic is diconnected or not. If so get the new fuse and replace it and its all good. If not you're in trouble and will have to get it towed. My advice is this. Check the fuses. If all is well keep trying and trying on the jump starting but after about one minute of trying keep a ten minute interval in between the next try so it doesn't heat up. Keep trying that. I'm not there and cannot see the car so I never know what the problem is. It could be something stupid like the oil is 10w-40 and too thick for your engine. It could be anything. Sorry I couldn't help much but try what I suggested first. Otherwise you'd better get it towed.

What is the best year/model of Jeep that a Jeep Wrangler fanatic would recommend?

The newest you can get. The JK is far and away the best. They hold value because of the popularity of the model; unless you are cruising malls all but the most recent have issues effecting reliability and off-road capacity negatively. The first gen YJ is pretty much garbage without huge amounts of work that a more recent model would probably beat off the line. The older CJ is much better to build as well.It is bad as a commuter, and off-road its cost to upgrade and acquire make a cherokee, etc. far more cost effective (that was until cherokee models got expensive). Against a first gen a Suzuki, ranger, or other generic SUV is a better off-roading option and more likely to get you to work too.The Peugeot transmission literally can blow parts all over the freeway, and the engine has low power/ etc. The diffs all are tiny too. So your looking at 10 grand in work and a bunch of smog law style issues to get it going. The second TJis far better; its low powered and cost about the same as the third. Most owners and dealers charge for the jeep brand nameā€¦The most recent generation JK suffered from CPU and transmission issues up until about 2006. After that they are all pretty stellar. The jeep holding value is what makes newer always better. Why pay 6k for a TJ when a JK is 10. You'd quickly eat the difference in repairs, etc. on a now 20+ year old vehicle. So if you want a jeep for a jeep: newer is better money. They depreciate on the top faster than the bottom so find a break even example and buy it.But as an off-roader, the trade is that for that 10k I can maybe find a toast YJ or CJ and give it 8k worth of mods. That was what made cherokee models attractive till the prices got so high they are just as expensive. In the offroad world a cheap miata with 9k worth of off-road upgrades will beat a 3k cherokee with 4k in upgrades and a stock 10k JK.We don't use kits, etc. and its welding that wins.

Whats wrong with my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Electrical System?

Figure this one out and I dub you sir Master Jeep Tech of the universe because its stooped "gold certified Jeep Techs"...

*Headlights OFF turn signals WORK but speed/tach dumps out on instrument cluster with "no bu5" on Odometer after long time driving. Engine light on.
*Headlights ON turn signals DON'T WORK. Speed/Tach dumps out on instrument cluster immediately, "no bu5". Right side door panel lights and middle gear shifter lights DON'T light up. Rear defroster automatically turns on without even hitting the switch.

*Other odd things was it burnt out my radio and before it totally sh*t the bed only way I could get the turn signals to work with headlights on was to run my floor heater for a few minutes. Once it became hot the turn signals would come alive. Once I turned the heater off after awhile driving in cold the turn signals would start to stop working with "no bu5". Power outlet and cigeratte lighter are also unpowered.

Codes:
P0171 Fuel Trim One Condition
P0174 Fuel Trim Two Condition
P0122 (Throttle Position) Sensor
P0740 Torque converter clutch no RPM drop at lock-up
P1195 Heated oxygen sensor-Bank 1 sensor (H02S11)
P1698 Fault-no CCD message from TCM

Culprit that I suspect was a sirius radio that had too much voltage ran from the power outlet and possibly shorted things out. When things first started going wrong the turn signals wouldn't work unless I had the sirius radio hooked up then things spiraled down hill from there to the current state.

Any ideas besides buy a new jeep will be greatly appreciated. I've thrown enough money at mechanics that seem to think they know more then the other guy....

How much would it cost to cut off my catalytic conv. on a 2005 Jeep WK? I might put on some red hots glass packs, could I do it with no cat?

Tampering with emission equipment is a Federal offense. Go to an aftermarket muffler shop to get the best advice.

A V6 Infinity Q35 Jeep one side 3 cylinder plugs is not firing. What could possibly be the problem?

Let me get this straight, you have three cylinders misfiring, all on the same bank of a V6 engine, correct? First you must determine what could possibly have an influence on those three and those three only. First thing that comes to mind is the camshaft. It's turning. We know that because the other cylinders use the same belt to turn their camshaft, but what about if the camshaft pulley turned fine, but the shaft itself were broken in a place that would allow the pully to work, but ny open any valves. Highly unlikely, but I've seen stranger things. There is a camshaft position sensor, but probably not a problem. It could be an oxygen sensor for that bank reading so far off that the computer is adding too much or too little for them to fire. But I'm not buying it. The computer would use a substitute value before that could happen. Ignition systems aren't usually split in such a way, but it is a Nissan so I wouldn't rule it out without checking. In my opinion the I must be a broken wire or two that carries the signal for fuel injection or ignition to that half of the engine. Either that or a blown head gasket on that side.
