What Could Be Wrong With My Two Year Old Male Cat

Ideal weight for my two year old cat?

It's impossible to say. It depends entirely on your cats structure, etc. Best is to ask the vet.

I am really glad, though, that you are interested in keeping the cat at weight. It will add considerably to the cat's long-term health. Obesity in cats is a huge problem and can result in life threatening diseases and disorders.

I personally suggest a canned diet of a quality food and no open feeding. Cats don't drink much water, and canned food helps to keep kitty properly hydrated which is an issue in cats. The old adage about dry food keeping the teeth clean is just that. All cats need to have dental cleanings regularly. This prevents bacterial damage to the cat's organs and also keeps the teeth and gums healthy.

There are many good cat foods out there, and here are a few:

Wellness (the chicken and rice is excellent. you can find it by putting in your zip code here:
http://www.oldmotherhubbard.com/wellness...

there is a little spot on the right, in yellow, about 1/2 page down to locate a seller near you. Get the large cans v. the regular small cat cans as this is cheaper. A pet store can order it for you this way if they sell the brand.

Felidae
Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul
Innova

A few to avoid: ANYTHING sold in the grocery. It is all junk and by-products and is loaded with carbs. Cats are 100% carnivores, so meat / fish proteins should be the basis of their diet... not by-products.

Good luck!

I have a 13 year old male cat who has never been a loveable cat but now I cannot do anything without the cat wanting to be cuddled or lay on my lap all the time. Why is he doing this?

I’m in a similar situation.I have a female who we rescued about 10 plus years ago but acted as if we had kidnapped her.My son is a cat magnet. 99.99% of all cats he’s ever met love him. Not her. She’d hiss at him every time she looked at him.She hated all our other cats. She was always hissing and swatting at them. We called her the evil queen. She’d hiss at me and my wife whenever we went to give her some attention. This went on for several years. Nowadays she loves my son, and likes to spend short periods of time in my lap.I’ll never know the reason for this change in her personality but I believe she’s calmed down due to age even though she still loks and acts like a young cat.

Can you neuter a 5 year old male cat?

He is marking his territory - that is what unneutered cats do. The only way to make him stop is to get him neutered. Even then, it's going to take a good two weeks or more for all the male hormones to work out of his system. You'll need to thoroughly clean the areas he's sprayed with an enzymatic cleaner (like Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution) so that the smell is totally gone. Most males that have been neutered do stop spraying, but there are always a few who continue even after. Let's hope yours stops.

Cats can be neutered at any age from 8 weeks and up - there is no such thing as "too old" to be neutered, especially since it's such a very simple procedure, and then aren't under the anesthesia long at all.

How do I stop my 3 year old male cat from tormenting my two other 13 year old female cats?

I have had a similar problem and seen something similar with a friend’s cats. I take it, as these are pets, that each has been neutered. Usually, that removes any hormonal issues. I doubt the gender of the cats plays much of part in this, some cats are just very assertive over others. But it is a problem that must be addressed. Dominant cats can literally terrorize other more placid cats, to death. I have seen it and it is very sad.Speak to your Vet about it. Sometimes a little pharmacological help goes a long way. If that doesn’t work, give the cat causing the problems away. It is best that he be placed in a setting where he will be an only cat.It is the only way.

My almost 2 year old male cat is losing fur around his ears and by his eyes. what could be causing this?

I am currently fostering a cat where I am dealing with the same.

Losing fur around the ears and eyes can be as a result of a few different things.

1. Allergy
2. Ear mites
3. Mange
4. Ringworm

1. Allergy - This is very common in cats. Cat can lose fur around the ears and eyes as a result of scratching due to allergy. Allergy in cats can cause bald patches and skin wounds. This could be a food allergy or environmental allergy. Allergy in cats can also be as a result of reaction to flea bites - examine your cat for fleas to rule out flea allergy as the cause of your cats reaction.

2.) Ear mites - Ear mites are uncomfortable for your cat and are very common in outdoor cats. If you examine your cats ears and see what looks like coffee grinds, this is indication of ear mites. Ear mites will also cause balding around the ears especially, and the fur on the corners of the eyes.

3.) Mange - Mange is very rare in cats. When someone suspects that their cat has mange 1 in 10 cases are actual mange cases but in most situations mange can be ruled out. Mange will cause bald patches, and skin wounds on cat. It most often starts in the head, and then spreads. It is contagious to humans.

4.) Ringworm - Ringworm is also contagious to humans. It is not an actual worm but bacteria on the cats skin causing round bald patches (in the shape of a ring). Multiple round patches can form together to make it seem as though it is not a round path of fur missing.

It is most likely as a result of allergy, or ear mites.

My 2 year old male cat has lost a lot of weight, he is very lethargic....?

Id a cat of this age is underweight it may be a problem that is not related to worms. It could be anything from a minor complaint ie the food you are feeding your cat to something serious so l will not hazard a guess long distance.
The ONLY person who can give you a correct diagnosis is a vet.If you cat has had its F4 shots, cat flu and feline leuk you can eliminate that.
You do realize that an all wormer does not get rid of tape worm and this MAY be a problem although rare in cats.
If he is constantly hungry yet not keeping food down or even eating yet still skinny you may be looking at a pancreatic problem, sorry to scare you or it may simply a blockage in the bowel which is not uncommon in cats.
l breed siamese so am used to them eating too much and too fast and 'upchucking' common to siamese but that is not your problem.
Serious advice get your cat to the vet ASAP,this is NOT good and if the cat has been skinny for awhile there is something really wrong with the cat.
Good luck.Hope it is minor PS l do not think ticks have emerged yet and it is rare for a cta to get one but they can, check the whole coat to see.
Vets now days have payment plans so if money is an issue do not be concerned at least one vet will help you.

My 2 year old cat is gone for 2 days now?

My cat is gone for 2 days now, last time i saw it it was around the house at over 7:00-8:00 PM sitting outside and resting. It usualy never stays inside the house (dunno why) but it comes in the morning for food at over 7:00AM, but this time it never came, looked for it the whole day and i couldn't find it, it didn't came this morning either. I really don't wanna lose it, it was like a brother to me. I have so many photos of it, will it come back? My last cat (female) was gone for 3 days and it came back, what could a male cat do?

Sorry about my english.

Can I sue my friend if her two-year-old son kills my cat?

I really hope this is a hypothetical question but in case it isn’t:Was the child left alone with the cat with NO ONE watching? Because in that situation, had your cat scratched that kid’s eyes out, best believe YOU would have been the one sued and you would have been the one to lose tons of money, and if your cat had been a dog instead, the city you live in might even have it killed.Again, let’s come back to the NO ONE. If you yourself were also not there to protect the cat and just allowed your irresponsible piece of trash “friend” to let her toddler loose on a small animal without even checking for THE SAFETY OF HER OWN CHILD let alone your cat, yeah, I see negligence there. On her part: the kind of negligence that could bring Child Protective Services in to reassess how safe that child really is under the care of that mother. On your part: there will be the whole ‘you should have know better than to trust an actual grownup who is responsible for the life of another human being to give a shit about you or your cat because people suck’ thing. Everyone’s your “””””friend”””” until proven otherwise. To officially answer your question: yes you can sue. yes you can fuck up her life by getting CPS involved. But use your powers for good not evil.Again, if this is real life and this woman did not offer you any sort of sincere apology or compensation or anything to help alleviate the pain, SHE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. If she made it all about herself and her kid and made you out to be the villain for complaining about “just a cat” SHE IS NOT your friend.(Some people actually ARE like this. I tried to call in sick the day after my cat died because I was too drunk and upset to either drive to or be at work, and the psychopath who worked in HR at the time tried to be all “get over it, it’s just a cat, whats wrong with you?” and the assistant manager had to explain to her that some human beings are capable of forming loving emotional attachments to pets… Plus it’s probably illegal to force your employee who is only requesting a sick day to drive drunk . My point is, people like this really do exist. The laws that make the life of your pet worthless and “just property” were probably written by people like that.)Cut this woman off like the gangrened limb she is and hope her spawn doesn’t get the chance to kill or harm anything ever again.

My 7 year old male cat is walking slowly and hunched over.?

It's very possible your cat has a blocked urinary tract (he can't pee).
If this is the case, he won't live more than 24 hrs.
If he was mine, I'd be on my way to the nearest ER vet.

No matter what it is, cats are masters at hiding pain. Since yours is showing obvious signs of severe pain PLEASE don't wait till Tuesday, Dear!

Why does my 2 year old male cat insist on sleeping on my chest and putting both paws on my face?

My Siamese sleeps on m y side as I sleep on my side... Wait let me retype that. Lol  so confusing sorry. I sleep on my side due to health issues. So Eliana sleeps on my side that is open to her. If I roll she moves, waits til I settle and will climb back up on my side, wedging her way under my arm for some reason. Not sure Id want to sleep in anyones pit, but its her place. When Daddy stays over with her(my bf) he sleeps on his stomach and she snuggles up under his arm or between his legs. I don't know the why of it, it just makes her happy. She sleeps all night, only moving if we do, then getting back in position after we are done moving.
