What Courses Are Needed To Study In Germany

How to study in Germany?

im only a junior in high school but it's my dream to study abroad in Germany. I know things can change from this time on but i have my mind set on it. I want to study in Berlin and go to a free or very inexpensive university that teaches in English (I'm from California). I'm not sure if I'm even qualified to study abroad in German when I first graduate high school. Do I have to study in America for a specific amount of time first? I'm not sure how to figure any of this out, it's all rather confusing. Any help or tips are much appreciated thank you!

P.S. I am teaching myself German and if you can name some universities that would be great (:

What is a German language course and masters study in Germany? I heard about doing 6-9 months language course in Germany, followed by pursuing a masters course in the English language.

First of all tell me where are you from? There are no free German courses in Germany for normal immigrants even with student visa.Ideally do a German course from your home country. You need a B2 level or more for pursuing a Masters in GermanFew universities offer some international Masters in EnglishFor English programs you should have very high scores in IELTS examYou should ideally have some work experienceYou should have more than 60% in your Bachelors degreeYou bachelors degree should be translated into German in many cases through the consular translation services BECAUSE most German university administration is in German. In case you are following a course in English. A2 level in German will be enough. You can acquire that with 6 to 12 months of effort in a good language school

What is the cost to study in Germany for indians?

This is based on my experience and for Munich. In my opinion, it should not vary much for other places like Darmstadt, Bonn, Paderborn etc.The tuition fee is almost nil for Masters program. So it comes down 3 major components:1. Fixed Monthly Expenses1.1 House Rent: It varies with cities. For example, In Munich (300 - 500 or more per month). Also, if you are lucky you can get dorms where you have to pay just 260 euros per month.1.2 Health Insurance: Around 80 Euros/month2. Personal Monthly Expenses It includes your groceries and other personal expenses. (200-300 Euros/month)3. Half Yearly/ Yearly expense: 3. 1 University per semester contribution for student social activities + basic ticket: 114.50 euro per semester (Fees and Financial Aid)3.2 Semester ticket in addition to basic ticket to get full access to trams and trains round the clock: 157,60 Euros per semester (TU München: Semester Ticket)3.3 Travelling back to India (once) : 600-800 Euros Sum total: Least: (300 + 200 + 80) * 12 + (114.50 + 157.60) * 2 + 600 = 8104.2 . Around 675 Euros/month.As you asked, strictly quoting for Indians :)Enjoy!

DSH or TestDAF for studying in Germany?

I am looking to study in Germany with my dual citizenship. This year will be my 4th year of German but my only concern is with the DSH or TestDAF. I don't know where or when to take either and for DSH, do I apply to the university first and take it when I get there or do I take it when I'm there and then apply for university after. Any other general advice is also greatly appreciated.

Questions about studying in Germany?

1 ) To be accepted at any German university to study there you need to hold the German Abitur or an international degree which is recognized as similar in most cases you will have to pass some additional tests.

2) No, unless you are some sort of language genius learning German for one year is by far not enough to be able to follow courses at university which are held in German.

3) That depends on the subject you studied first of all and a bit on your nationality since German and other EU citizens will get hired before non EU citizens in mst cases.
