What Court Documents Do I Need To Join Navy

If you have children, and you want to join the Navy, do you have to be married?

My Fiance wants to join the navy, but we have a 9 month old, and another baby on the way. I believe someone once told me, if a man wants to join the military, and has 2 children, he must be married.... is this true? I cant seem to get a good answer looking it up myself.

Want to join US navy!!?

ok dude wight away i can tell you that none of the other people that responded before were ever in the military. definitely don't join the army, i was in the navy for four years and then the army for six so i have a good idea of what to tell you. first of all, yes you will get payed when you're in boot camp. also before you go to boot camp get a few papers together i would say your marriage documents. since you don't yet have those take your child's birth certificate and social security card. as far as the benefits go you'll get medical and dental for you and your kid. you can't get them for your girlfriend until you get married and if you get an overseas assignment you'll be able to take your baby and have to find an alternative means to get her to where you are because she isn't yet your wife. that's across the board in every branch so don't let any recruiters out there lie to you. another option you have if you want to think about it a little bit more is join the reserves. then you get a certain amount of money each year to pay for college and you'll still get to to go to boot camp and school for whatever job you pick. so that can give you a little bit of a feel about what you're getting into. like that if you think it just isn't for you then you only have to deal with it for one weekend a month until your contract ends. if you decide you do like it then you can transfer from the reserves to active duty. you'll get payed for being in the reserves, it isn't very much though and then you also have the option of getting you and your kid healthcare and dental. again as far as your girlfriend goes, still can't get either one for her unless you're married. if you have any more questions just e-mail me and i'll gladly give you the answers you're looking for. oh yeah another thing is if you have any college credits already take those to the recruiter with you and you'll help you get promoted faster. the california highway patrol also looks upon being in the reserves very highly. it actually helps you advance faster in the highway patrol if you're in the reserves while you work for the highway patrol. if you want to check out the highway patrol for employment you might want to look into any volunteer opportunities they may have to help you with your credentials toward employment. alright brother take it easy and if you have any more questions just hit me back.

Can I join the navy if I'm divorced?

You have to give up full custody of your child to your husband, sister or parents. Coast Guard will probably not take you, so your best bet is Navy. ( I am prior service Navy, trying to re-enlist and also have a child and am not with the child's father, so I know the ropes on this one!!) You will also have to have a Family Care Plan in place in case of your death, deployment, etc.

You cannot regain full custody of the child back either until after your enlistment (you may want clarification on this from your recruiter as I keep hearing different things..).

It is a great thing to have a support net for yourself and child, but remember, you never know where the Navy will put you, and unless your family is willing to relocate with you, they obviously won't always be there.

Go talk to a recruiter tho, maybe even a few different ones if you feel like you aren't getting straight answers from the first one regarding guardianship of your child. That's definitely something you don't want to mess with! ;)

Good luck!

IF I JOIN THE NAVY CAN MY FAMILY COME W/ME WHEREVER THEY STATION ME AT?

no.

A: as a single parent, you cannot enlist. you would have to get married first before you could process. or produce court documents giving full custody over to the father.

B: not all duty stations are accompanied. A school is often unaccompanied as well. as for afterward: Japan ..anybody under E4 will NOT get command sponsorship. Diego Garcia is ALWAYS unaccompanied, as are Souda Bay, and a few other places.

If you have a DUI, can you still join the US Navy?

Disclaimer: I left recruiting duty just over ten years ago, so it's likely standards have changed. When I was a recruiter, if an applicant came to me with a DUI, it took a full year from the conviction before the process. On top of that, everything had to be paid off, the community service and alcohol abuse classes completed, and nothing else remaining open on your record. At that point a waiver could be started, which would be decided by higher ups in the recruiting command, after looking at other factors such as a personal statement, other police records, educational records, and test scores. There was also usually an interview with somebody from the recruiting command to determine the likelihood of it happening again. They would decide whether or not you'd be more of a potential asset or liability the Navy. Even if the waiver was accepted, you'd probably be disqualified from certain sensitive jobs that require high clearances, and going officer would definitely be out of the question.

Can i still join navy with public intoxication?

Age:20
I was in the process of enlisting in the navy. I disclosed prior possession charge of marijuana when i was 18. Passed asvab. Next step was MEPS. My recruiter was waiting on court documents from above charge. I went to a concert 1st of may and ended up getting arrested for public intoxication. I then called my recruiter the next after being released and told him. He then said call back after uve handled it. I hired my own attorney. What are my chances of getting into the navy now that i have this new charge. I havnt bin convicted yet. Have court coming up soon

Joining the Navy with a Dismissed Felony?

CWOF is treated as a GUILTY charge by the military. there is no such thing as dropped, sealed or expunged tothe Federal government.

your chances of getting in are slim as the Navy( in fact all the Branches) are granting fewer waivers for felonies right now.

If I'm from a foreign country, can I join the US Army?

As a former Navy Recruiter I can tell you that the US Army does ‘go low’ on some standards. However there are some standards that are universal for the US Armed Forces. You must be a Green Card holder in good standing to join the US Army. A student Visa or Visa of any kind is not good enough. There will be many people, especially in the media and maybe even politicians that will say there are illegal or undocumented immigrants serving in the US Military. However I challenge anyone to provide proof of it. Obviously people can fake documents but the numbers in that case will be few and far between. That would be illegal.Non-citizens may join legally but, they have to be Lawful Permanent Residents. There used to be a few exceptions to the rule. In South Korea and the Philippines there used to be programs for non-citizen/non-US LPRs to serve in the US Armed Forces. In the case of the ROK, South Koreans could serve in attached roles with the US Army and USAF. In the Philippines, Filipinos could join the US Military of any branch and go anywhere. Accession for them gained them LPR status automatically and a very easy pathway to citizenship. Those programs have been over for nearly 30 years now though.
