What Damage Am I Doing To My Body

How long does anorexia take to damage your body?

I suspect that you are hoping to get the answer that it takes ages before damage is done and that it will be a long time before doctors know anything. Doesn't work like that I am afraid, damage can be done very quickly especially if you weight drops rapidly or if you purge of take laxatives or diuretics. Anorexia is a life threatening illness - 30% of all sufferers die from it. If you are suffering with this illness you really DO need to be honest with your doctor and ask him for help. Don't lie and pretend that you are fine, the only person you are ultimately hurting here is you. if you can be honest and up front, your doc will be able to help you sooner rather than later. It will become very obvious to people that you are anorexic sooner than you think and the earlier you get treatment the easier it is to get out of the anorexic cycle. I lived with chronic anorexia for 14 years - I have been in recovery for 2 years now. I went undiagnosed for a long time and this meant the illness really got a good grip on me.

How much damage does cocaine do to your body and brain?

I tried coke twice and i am worried about the damage it does to your health. Does it make you stupid every time you try it? What are the risks of trying it? Does it do permanent damage?

What damage am I doing to my body if I drink two glasses of whiskey (60ml) a week (on the weekend)? I am 28, in good physical shape, and lift 3 days a week.

Alcohol affects different people differently. Get a liver function test and a Kidney function test done at least once a year. If the numbers are normal, then you’re good.Generally giving a full week’s gap between drinking 2x60ml drink is a good time for your body to recover from the effects. You might want to consider a few additional things:Never drink on an empty stomach.Do not binge drink (drinking a lot just because you drink only one day in a week). If you can, drink after your meal. Initially this is a bit difficult as we are conditioned to drink first and then eat. The trouble with drinking before meals is that it is accompanied by a lot of junk, unhealthy finger foods (read: excess calories). If you drink after your meal, then the drink will work as a digestive and you will not feel the urge to binge drink.Drink slower - If you do point no. 3, then this will come naturally.Last but not the least, continue your weight lifting routine. Exercising and adopting a healthy lifestyle and diet is of paramount importance.

What damage does a small electrical shock do to your body?

I was placing a new lampshade on to an antique lamp in my room, and the ring of the shade was too big and fell below the area under where the bulb rests, and when I pulled it up to take it off, it interfered with something on the shade and all these sparks flew up and a shock with through me. Immediately a small mark that sort of looks like a scab appeared on my finger, and I felt the shock. My finger was burning for a while but I put aloe on it and am fine now. I still feel weird, like my entire body is sort of shaking a little. I'm currently undergoing chemo & rad for Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and have also been dealing with a virus this week that has made me throw up constantly, so I think maybe my body is reacting more intensely to it than it normally would. I'm 17 and don't have a heart condition or anything like that.

I'm not afraid I'm going to drop dead or have any serious long-term effects, and I'm not even feeling terrible enough to tell my parents and definitely am not willing to go to the hospital for this, but I'm wondering when the weird feeling in my hand and this shaky feeling should subside. Is there anything I can do to speed up the recovery process?

And yes, I know I was being an imbecile for not unplugging the lamp first, so please don't tell me how stupid I was. I've just switched out heaps of lampshades before without ever having anything like this happen before, and I didn't think to unplug it this time.

What damage can I do to my body if I am dehydrated for a long period of time?

As it turns out, if you are not hydrated enough, your body will absorb water from all the sources it possibly can, including the colon. So, if you don’t drink enough water, it’s perfectly normal to be constipated. However, if you drink about 7 glasses of water every day and you still have constipation, you should consult a specialist.Don’t forget about your liver. The liver is one of the vital organ in the body that is responsible for breaking down substances and expelling toxins from the body. Without a well-functioning liver, your body will be unable to cleanse itself and absorb nutrients, so it is important to keep your liver healthy. If you want to keep your liver healthy, here are the best liver cleansing foods to include into your diet.

Can you damage you're body from drinking straight tabasco?

I have sort of an addiction to tabasco sauce, I put in on everything. Sometimes I crave it when I'm not hungry so I pour it in water or drink a dash from the cap. Is this unhealthy?

Will drinking Bear Mace cause permanent damage to my body? or will I require medical treatment if I do so?

I'm looking to do some tests with Bear Mace, which has a rather high proportion of pepper, or capsicum, approximately the same level as Law Enforcement Grade pepper spray.

I'm curious if drinking the spray, that is, to spray a large concentration of it into a small shot glass, would cause permanent damage or require medical treatment.

I am fully aware of the pain and suffering involved with works about Pepper Spray, I am just curious if there will be PERMANENT damage or something that requires medical treatment other than over the counter medication.
