How many athletes do you know that work out only 3 days a week?

Everybody I know (including some professional athletes) takes no more than one rest day a week, and varies their workouts so they don't beat up any one body part too much.

u shud never do your lower body with your top body together..it will never work..day 1 do chest and triceps..day 2 do biceps and back..day 3 do shoulders and shurgs and you have to KILL your shoulders to get them big literally like do them until u feel pain in them that u cant rotate your arm..and day 4 do quads,hamstrings,calfs..this way your get the perfect amount of time to let your other muscles heal and grow bigger and better and remember to eat ALOT after your workout and eat things with lots or protein or you wont see much gain..

How many days a week should I work out?

Actually, three days a week is the minimum - for OPTIMAL results, you need to work out more than that. I don't want to say you have to work out EVERY day, but I would aim for at least FIVE days a week. Also, for exercise to work, it needs to be done consistently, meaning don't skip weeks! Don't exercise on one week and be sedentary on the next! I think that working out many days a week is even more important for beginners like you, because if you're just starting out you really need to force your body to get used to being active.

Just don't be too hard on yourself at first. Start with the simple, easy exercises, like walking and bike riding. Gradually work your way up. If a particular workout starts feeling too easy, up the intensity! Be sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, especially if you decide to work out outside when it's hot.

As long as your exercise is consistent, you should see results quickly. I used to be overweight myself, but now my BMI is at a healthy 22 (last time I checked, anyway), and I think exercising consistently was what helped me go down to a healthy weight. Sometimes you hear people say that they can't lose weight even though they exercise, and I think one reason why this happens sometimes is because although they exercise, they don't exercise consistently enough. The more frequently you do it, the better. I think my weight decreased the most when I worked out every day.

Of course, diet is also important. Be sure you eat healthy. Stay away from trans fat and saturated fat, and aim for foods high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Don't eat too much late at night because that's when your metabolism is slow.

Working out twice a day?

Ok your young but i was in the army corp so could you handle it i will give you a guaranteed routine to make you cry but give you results.

10 cross sit ups, 10 push ups, 10 chin bars, 20 squat thrusts, 15 star jumps, do this 3times daily for 1 week

week 2 double the amount

week 3 triple the amount

week 4 100 sit ups, 40 clap press ups, 40 chin bars, 50 star jumps, 100 suicides, continue this routine and watch your back work

within 3 months you will be like an ox

k well i work out about 5 to 6 days a week and give myslef a couple days to rest
i usually feel sore on the body part i worked on but by when half the day is over i feel a sudden burst of energy

Should I work out EVERY day?

You will be fine with a workout every other day. The key is to workout about three times a week. Your body needs time to recover from your workouts. Plus when you are working out you release toxins into your blood stream. If you drink lots of water during and after a workout and leave a day in between it will be more effective than every day.
