What Degree Of The Heat Should I Use To Dry My Synthetic Wigs With A Air Dryer

Can you dry a wig in a dryer?

Well you can try it if you are ABSOLUTELY SURE that it will have no heat: because when it comes to hair pieces and heat it all depends on the fibre used for the wig
if its synthetic hair
DO NOT APPLY HEAT! it will melt down into a solid mound
if it is Human hair or the specially treated synthetic hair that has just recently been invented for using heat; then you can put some light-moderate heat to it if the dryer makes a little heat
the absolute BEST way to test it is to test a strand of hair on the wig with heat to see if it starts to shrink and melt away.

But if you are sure that there will be no heat used I would go ahead and put it in and KEEP YOUR HAND ON THE FRONT OF THE MACHINE TO MONITOR FOR HEAT!!!!

keep opening the machine and checking for damage...this is something that's never really done with hairpieces so you have to test it out as you are doing it

about tangles: yes it probably will get tangles but if you have a good spray on detangler I would advise giving a LIGHT pre spritz before hand or afterhand if you dont want the residue in the machine and like I said before MONITER what you are doing!
the second you see something wrong take it out IMMEDIATELY

What happens if I put my shoes in the dryer?

As the other responses mention, not all shoes can be put in the dryer. However, many sneakers or tennis shoes can. To dry shoes in the dryer, it’s recommended to remove the insoles first if possible to avoid damaging them and find a way to keep them from tumbling or banging around in the dryer.I suggest installing a dryer rack inside of your dryer. Not only will it keep your shoes in place, but can also be used for other delicate items that shouldn’t be tumbled. You’ll have to find the one to fit your model to make sure it will stay put. I found mine on PCApplianceRepair.com.After installing, all you have to do is set your dryer to either the lowest heat setting or no heat and check on your shoes periodically. I’d recommend taking them out just before they’re completely dry and letting them air dry the rest of the way to avoid any potential damage to the soles/material or shrinking.

What is the best way to care for a wig?

You can wash a synthetic wig, but use only shampoo for wigs.  Human shampoo is too harsh and will ruin the fibers.  Don't wash it more than once a week, or you risk loosening the fibers in the hair wefts, which will cause shedding.  Fill a bowl or sink with cool water, add a capful of wig shampoo, and let it soak for about 15 minutes.  Then swish it gently around and remove from the water.  Wrap the wet wig in a towel and GENTLY squeeze the excess water out, then put it on a wig head to dry.  NEVER comb or brush the wig while it is still wet, you will have lots of breakage if you do!  Wait until it is completely air-dried to comb and style.  Some people swear by soaking their synthetic wigs in fabric softener, claiming that it smooths and helps to untangle the hair, but I have tried this and not found it to make any difference whatsoever, except giving the wig a very strong detergent odor!  Tangling usually occurs because the wig does not fit the head properly, causing wefts to get misaligned and thus causing the fibers to get all matted together eventually.  The best thing you can do to lengthen the life of any wig is to make sure it perfectly and comfortably fits your head..you would be amazed at how this keeps the hair fibers looking smooth and like real hair.  Most wigs these days that are not custom-made are manufactured for a one-size-fits-all target of consumers.  They generally are made much bigger than any female should really need.  It is very hard to alter the fit of a wig yourself though, as it requires (usually) cutting into and resewing sections of the hair wefts.  You are much better off taking it to a professional with real tailoring knowledge and/or wig experience.Hope this helps!
