What Degree Should I Get If I Want To Work At Pixar Or On Movie Editing

What software is typically used to make CGI movies?

I have been working in the industry close to a year, as of 2017 the primary layout used (most commonly) is as follows,Blender— for rough modeling and sculpting, export as an object (.obj) where it is then sent toMaya—Refining and displacement. then the same .obj is transferred toMudbox—For super realistic textures and bump maps. After effects—Composite the finished .obj into the video file. *NOTE: THIS STEP IS DONE BEFORE COLOR CORECTION. ESPECIALLY WITH .R3D FILES FROM RED.* Color correction and keying is done here as well.Adobe Audition—Syncing audio with video and mastering in a 7.1 channel system .WAV editor.Premier Pro—Physical clip editing and splicing, audio synchronization and refining.Adobe media encoder—Encoding the finished product. H.264 at default compression and highest color bitrate setting for Windows systems and standard DVD. H.265 (HEVC) set at default compression and super high bitrate for Blu-Ray and 4K HDR or up to 8K video encoding. This is the general layout of some major film companies. ON A BUDGET> You CAN achieve cinematic quality CGI using the latest update of Blender. But to do it you need a computer that’s pretty much unaffordable to most. (mine has 14TB Memory, 128GB RAM, 750 Cores of processor and 40 GPU processors custom build that ran about $20K, even this can barely handle it when it can handle 8K RED files effortlessly) So… Now that the layout of pro studios is available publically, if you have a computer that can handle the files, has the memory, and RAM and power, have access to RED, ARRI Alexa, or otherwise professional cameras, you can make Hollywood quality films. Assuming you can afford it. (To this day, film companies prefer RED or ARRI Alexa) MOST independent companies use this same setup but film in either 4K or 1080p on BlackMagic. I hope this brief description helps! Happy Filming!

How can I work for Marvel Studios? I want to create animations, and effects in the future. What do I need to do to pursue my dream?

Go to an art school. Study illustration and animation if you want to draw for animation or comic books. Go to a film school (like USC: University of Southern California) if you want to work on films. Most people who go to a film school never make it. You’ll have a better chance at working for them as an artist.Make a portfolio of your work. These books will be helpful for learning Marvel-style drawing.Amazon.com: How To Draw the Marvel Wayhttps://www.amazon.com/How-Draw-...https://www.amazon.com/Breaking-...I haven’t actually seen the last book, but imagine it’s as good as the others. Here’s the Marvel website;Marvel.com: The Official SiteHere is Marvel’s career page;Marvel jobs at DISNEYEach job listing will tell you the requirements.Good Luck!!

What is the degree for 3D modeling?

If that is something that you really enjoy doing, then I would look into going to a school with a game design program. You will be exposed to all the different aspects involved in making the game, especially 3D modeling. There is a job in the industry called Asset Production, which means you design various objects that go into the games. You may even get into a program like this and find something you enjoy a lot more. I for instance got my degree in Film. When I first went away to school, I was all about working with the camera. Then once I went through the program, I found out I enjoyed Editing and Special Effects even more! I still do some camera work, but the Editing and SFX are my main focus.
My advice is to research some different schools and go for it. If it's something you love doing then that's where you need to go! I have put a couple links to get you started:

Is colette from the diseny pixar 2007 movie ratatouille chinese/japanese?

No she's not, she's european.
You can tell she's not asian because she has very european features. Also she has brown hair and blue eyes, which is very uncommon for asians.

How long did it take to film the movie "Cars"?

Wild guess: over a year!

How much Hard Drive space do most Movie Digital Copies take?

The Digital Copies are low-res versions of the standard DVD or BluRay, mainly designed for portable devices (iPod/iPhone, PSP, etc). Depending on the studio that released the movie, there might be a single Digital Copy or up to three. The files range anywhere in size from 400-600MB for the extremely low-res Windows Media Portable version up to 1-1.5GB for the higher res files for iPods and the like.

So no, it's not going to take all 14 gigs, nor will it be anywhere close to 40. There are very few BR discs out that come anywhere close to 40gig, even at 1920x1080 resolution.

If you don't intend on using it on a portable device or watching it on your computer (which I'll assume you don't plan to do since you own the BR and can watch it on your HD set), there is really no need to use the Digital Copy.

Is a degree in Animation really useless?

I really like animation and art in general, so I was wondering if pursing a degree in animation is really as useless as people make it out to be. I mean even if you can't get into Disney or Pixar, you can still work in graphics in movies, video games, or commercials right? Can't you also get other jobs that may not be fully on animation but relative enough to get the job? like graphic design or video editor? (sorry if I'm way off) Or will you really be "flipping burgers?" Should I purse a different degree?
