Well, Deoxys is somewhat unique in that it used to be a Mythical, but became a semi-Legendary in ORAS where it was available in-game. So they could do anything really. I predict that it will end up being either an EX raid (doesn’t seem like an ordinary raid boss) or a Special Research reward. The forms might be implemented at random in the first case or change every day in the second (again at random), just as Deoxys forms have been dealt with in other spinoffs.The biggest problem though, are its stats.Let’s not mince words here. In Pokémon Go, Deoxys is terrible. In every form. The main problem is that in every form, Deoxys has base 50 hp, making it the lowest-hp of any Mythical/Legendary, tied with Diancie (who at least has good defenses).Its Normal form and Attack form have paper-thin defenses that are simply not suited for the long, drawn-out battles that characterize PoGo’s battle system. A defending Blissey will KO either one in no time at all, easy.Now, I can hear people protesting, what about its Defense form? Due to its low HP and Atk stats, Defense will end up suffering from what I call “Registeel syndrome”. The stats formula simply doesn’t encourage Pokémon with balanced physical/special stats, and the game itself is biased against defensive Pokémon. Deoxys Defense will be worse than Registeel, the worst Legendary we’ve had to date.Finally, its Speed form, which is more balanced in Atk/Def, is ironically the best form. But it too suffers from Registeel syndrome. It’s Speed will give it a minor buff—unfortunately high Speed doesn’t count for much. And it’s HP is as low as ever.I genuinely hope Deoxys either comes with or is preceded by an extensive battle system rework. Otherwise, it’s just another collectible for people to catch and leave in the trash heap.
