What Did I Do To My Neck Help

What can I do for my neck?

well, u can take a break from all of the stress in your muscles. U probably pulled a muscle as it is because of all of the pressure points that might be causing the hurting, seeing that oyu lift a lot of heavy things. Getting acupunture might help....but if u can't afford i would just massage my neck with some "tiger balm" everyday..3 times a day.morning, afternoon, and night! You can go to a drugstore or a regular store and ask for it. It always helps me. When you put the tiger balm on i would use a paper towel or latex or rubber gloves. That way it doesn't stain or burn your hands. don't worry. It won't cause more pain or stain clothes. But make sure it airs out after applying. It's only about $10.00 or less depending how big and what store. Good luck!

Do neck pillows help prevent neck pain?

Short Answer: YES, they do.If you use neck pillows that offer proper neck support you are anatomically doing the right thing for your neck. Your neck is a backwards C if you look at it on a sideways x-ray ( aka lateral cervical x-ray). A neck pillow with a neck roll can help you achieve that as you sleep. So what are some examples of pillows that can help you prevent neck pain?Arc4life traction neck pillow - works particularly well for patients who have herniated disc, bulging disc and spinal stenosis - great pillow because this pillow gives you support and gentle traction (stretching)TriCore Cervical Support Pillow - Works well for patients who are looking for a firm type of pillowAdjustable memory foam pillow - great for patients who are looking for a FOAM type of support that molds to your head and neck. HELP! My neck hurts like hell?

Dear Rubber Duck, sounds like a pulled muscle to me. I would not force movement, as this can cause more injury. Apply ice to your neck (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off). Don't put the ice bag directly on your skin, use a thin cloth or paper towels to buffer. Do this repeatedly for several hours. If you have muscle relaxers and aren't going out, take one. If not, take some extra strength pain reliever, such as Advil or Aleve. If you can buy some patches that you apply to the skin, such as Thera Care or Ben Gay, put one on before going to bed. Also Pain Away, a spray that warms the skin is good and will help you sleep in comfort. Tomorrow, if not better, repeat the ice treatments and alternate with a heating pad.

What should I do if I cracked my neck and now it hurts?

By "cracked" I suppose you heard something go click or clunk.  This in itself may be a spontaneous release.  Although any release can change muscle length and then trigger aches and pains. It all depends on the type of pain.  If it feels like muscle pain and soreness then likely you have a muscle strain.  For home treatment you can apply ice pack, keep the head stable and get some rest.  P.R.I.C.E - Protection,Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation is the basic first aid.  You can perform isometric muscle test, hold your head still with arm and move against it gently.  Where you have pain is likely the muscle which is injured. For professional help your best best is a massage therapist with training in therapeutic (aka deep tissue) massage.  Alternately if it feels like a bone is in the wrong place you might seek treatment from a chiropractor or osteopath. If you feel any tingling sensation or loss of feeling then you could have some type of nerve impingement in which case you should first visit a medical doctor like your primary care physician first to get a diagnosis, and then likely back to chiropractor for adjustments.  Alternately go to an osteopath or chiropractor first. If you are in Silicon Valley area you can book a massage with me. My neck is in pain and my head is crooked!! Please help!?

So yesterday I woke up with a really terrible neck pain the I have never had before. The left side of my neck, along with the crook of my neck, was aching very badly and it would hurt more if I leaned my head on that side. The most I could move it was about 25 degrees before I felt any pain.

I thought it was just a result of sleeping in a bad position, because I usually sleep on my side. I had some shopping I had to get done with my mother that day also so I just "manned up" and took two Aleve tablets (it was around noon) and went along with my day.

Throughout the day the pain was somewhat relieved, but didn't go away, and by the time I got home (around 4pm), I couldn't hold my head straight and I was leaning towards the right. Around 8pm I had an ice pack on the left side of my neck while leaning towards the right and I left it on for about 30 minutes. The ice pack did help numb the pain but 5 or so minutes after I started to hurt just as bad again. And because I was leaning on my right side, it was starting to ache too (just not as much.)

So around 11 I just called it quitsies, took a shower, took one more Aleve tablet, got an electric heating pad that you plug in and put it on my left side. I went to bed sleeping on my left side with the heating pad applied there all throughout the night.

I woke up around 7 am took of the pad, brushed my teeth and took a hot shower and that took about 20 minutes. By that time, both sides of my neck were still hurting (the left hurting more) and I looked in the mirror and my head was noticeably crooked! Its leaning towards the right and when I try to straighten it out by leaning it towards the left, it hurts.

I think this goes a little further than just sleeping wrong and I'm a little scared and still in pain. I don't know what to do as of now. Should I ask my mum to take me to a regular doctor or a chiropractor, or am I just being rash and should just wait a few more days to see what happens. Has this ever happened to you? What did you do?

I'm literally crying right now in pain and fear at 8 am while eating Cheerios and typing. I'm probably overreacting out of anxiety but yeah. I know this is long, so thanks for even reading this, and please please please help me. Thanks a lot.

Why doesn't my chest/neck absorb any self tanner????????????????????????...

The skin on your neck and decolletage (the name for your chest area) is very different from that on your legs and arms. Pores are much smaller and the skin is much more sensitive. That being said, it is way less likely that your self-tanner- whether it's expensive or not- will absorb into the skin in those areas; which is why companies create specific self-tanning products for the face. These lotions contain certain properties that allow them to penetrate this much different skin. I'd recommend that you find one of these face tanners, and apply it to your neck and chest. I'd bet it would work a lot better. Also, which is what I do much of the time, you can take your powder bronzer and a large face brush and apply it down your neck and onto your chest. Make sure it is even! This also helps to blend the look of make-up on a face for a more natural appearance.

Note: While it's frustrating and time consuming at times to go the self-tanning route, I'm very glad to see that you are doing this rather than laying in beds or out under the sun. UV rays are incredibly dangerous and it isn't worth it to compromise the quality of your skin, and your life even, for that summer glow when you can get it safely elsewhere. And this is coming from a 20 year-old California girl!!!! Good luck with my advice I hope it helps.

My neck popped, and now it hurts to look up and turn my head to the right. What can I do to help the pain?

Try soaking in a hot tub with your neck parallel to the bottom. Try to wiggle it gently side-to-side to see if it goes back into place. (I have to do this all the time because my neck is fused.)Ice may help your inflammation.Go to a recommended chiropractor, but make sure they will take x-rays at your first visit. If this type of intervention does not help you, insist on an MRI from an orthopedic doctor or neurosurgeon. INSIST—don’t stand on your head, but insist. You have to know what’s wrong, and x-rays are just preliminary. I had a myelogram because an MRI was insufficient to diagnose me. I hope you don’t have to get that test.My MRI was delayed for far too long and my cervical fusion results have been disappointing. Fusion was necessary, due to spinal cord compression.Don’t play around with a neck injury—it can ruin you.Good luck. Get film copies of all your tests, not just the reports. You can’t imagine the potential pain in the arse it is if you neglect this.
