What do I ask for at the nail salon?

Every time I go they never understand what I mean. I want a manicure, you know soak my fingers, clean up cuticles but I also want acrylic almond shaped nails with regular nail polish on top. What should I ask for?

Also, can they put regular polish on acrylics? I don't want the powder.

Hi, I worked as a beautician and although I would be familiar with the phrase "stiletto/almond" I found most customers would use "pointy" to describe the shape they wanted there nails. I'm sure the beautician will ask you weather you want them that way or not and will understand you either way. For gel or acrylic I would go with gel, although they don't last AS long they are much better for your nails, and still last 3-4 weeks depending on how skilled the person doing them is. The acrylic nails will last a little longer but will do much more damage to your nails, to keep your nails in better condition I would choose gel!

When going to a nail salon how do I ask for.....?

Just ask for a french manicure and nothing more, especially the tips. She should listen to you and if she reaches for the tips, stop her and explain it again. If she doesn't listen again, then just leave. You shouldn't have to stay if she's listening to you.

How do I ask what I want at a nail salon?

Basically I'd like sport cut (shorter) acrylics painted matte black, with black tips using regular polish.
I've only been to nail salon once so I'm not exactly sure how this works.
Do I need to bring my own polish in case they don't have matte? Should I show them a picture? Is it possible that I can just have the acrylics and polish applied without paying for the "manicure" or is that the same thing? Help I'm so lost XD

Depends what you want .. if your just getting your nails painted ask for a color and what designs they do. If your getting acrylics ask for a full set and for them to show you what type of acrylics they have . There's also gel nails, I don't recommend them they make fingernails look awful when they come off, yiu can also google images and ask if they can do that to your nails .

Can I bring a picture into a nail salon and ask them to do that design?

Yes.... French tips are so out for the summer everyone has already done that get clear and ask for a french but you want color like somthing neon (air brushed and don't get a design those just look weird)

Do you want white tips or clear?

I want clear (because you want to do air brushed)

Then they do your nails

you just want a color no design

It would look something like this but make sure you tell them that you want them short! deffinentaly not that long!

make sure that there salon does acrylic! call before you go! acrylic is way better and they last longer!
