What Do I Do If Subway Ask Me To Change The Dates On The Food Rather Than Change It Completley

Sandwiches of Subway Haram?

is eating of sandwiches of subway haram? my imam eat there but he not let us eat there. he say haram for us but he make halal for him. can he make halal for me? it is of the tastyness sandwich.

Are subway sandwich makers supposed to change their gloves for each new sandwich?

Yes...

Subway customers, does it bother you when SW employees don't wash their hands before putting on plastic gloves

This has become the norm. I used to ask them to wash their
hands first, but quite truthfully it's not worth the trouble anymore.
The employees will roll their eyes or get defensive, and so on.
It seems to me that if you are handling gloves with dirty hands,
it's still unsantitary. I would like to know what you think about it.
Thanks.

Eating at subway and the gloves they use.?

I've worked at Subway when I was 16 - and I am now a vegan, if that makes any difference.

Anyway, it's not a big deal to ask someone to change gloves. People asked me to change gloves (especially people whose religion was against eating meat), plus I changed gloves habitually at least every 30 minutes to 1 hour - but I can tell you right now that my coworkers weren't as clean as I was.

But be realistic - in general, the same knife is used to cut everything, whether it's a veggie sandwich or a meat sandwich. The sandwiches slide down the same board that the "sandwich artist" cuts on, whether it's a meat or a veggie sandwich. Usually they put a little wax paper sheet down when they slice meat or cheese for a salad, but not always.

PLUS, all the workers wear the same pair of gloves through the entire assembly process - so they handle the bloody, gross roast beef, and then reach into the veggie trays, so all the roast beef bloody/sliminess gets into the veggies. The roast beef always, 100% of the time, came packed with at least an ounce or two of blood in it. Plus the juice and yuck from all the meats gets transfered into veggie trays just by proxy because the same gloves are used.

So if you were to be absolutely obnoxiously meticulous, you'd ask them to A) use a wax paper under your sandwich, b) wash the knife, c) use new gloves, d) ask them to cut you fresh veggies because they had already touched them previously with a glove that touched meat (which is the same as them touching your sandwich with a glove that touched meat, right?)

Anyway -

I don't eat at Subway. EVER. I'll spare the grossness but I had a lot of gross experiences concerning the quality of the food, the storage methods, the food preparation methods. I worked in a really nice Subway too, in a Chicago suburb, I can't imagine what other Subways are like.

Why do Subway (sandwich chain) employees wear plastic gloves?

It is a pain to constantly change gloves.  HOWEVER.... Subway does actually have rules regarding glove usage.  For example, the person wearing their gloves when they are finished making a sandwich and then handling money... that is a huge NO.  Gloves are not supposed to be worn at the register at all.  There are charts that Subway has available to note when one needs to change gloves or wash hands.  I do get the worker POV that it's a pain to change gloves when, say, going from meats to veggies, and I even admit to not always being scrupulous about changing gloves every single time.  The problem here is one that I will continually harp on, which is bad training and poor supervision from monthly reviews.  All Subways are supposed to be periodically evaluated by a reviewer from corporate, and either the workers do a good job of not showing the bad when the reviewer is around, or the reviewer is an inept reviewer. If the problem really gets persistent, keep the receipt and do the survey at the bottom.  Those surveys get forwarded up the chain of command to District Managers, and depending on who owns that particular franchise determine how fast action happens.  I've seen changes happen and people ultimately get fired thanks to those surveys!

I have an interview for subway tomorrow ........?

I know that they will ask something like what makes you suited to work for us?
Its good to talk about our basic knowledge of cleanliness e.g. keeping your hands clean, finger nails trimmed and clean.

If you have an a job before talk about your strengths as you have gained valuable knowledge of customer service and you feel like your customer service is of a high standard.

Try not to over-do the weakness part of the interview as many of interviews I have done do not directly ask you for your weakness be honest but do not put yourself down e.g. if you feel your maths isn't up to power tell them your maths skills aren't as good as you would like but tell them how your working on improving them by taking extra maths classes or tutoring.

Good Luck!! (:

Are all Subway stores vegetarian UNfriendly, or just the one in my town?

Ideally, ALL cross contamination should be avoid for sanitation purposes. We are not required use tongs for everything because it is assumed that whatever we touch in the bins will be going straight onto the persons sandwich and we won't touch what is left behind. Knives and cutting boards are to be sanitized and gloves should be changed upon request.

If these conditions are not being met at your Subway, than I would suggest calling the corporate hot line and recommending the staff be retrained in food safety (1 800 888 4848). However, if your diet calls for stricter measures, than I'd honestly just avoid any restaurant that isn't strictly vegetarian.

I'm glad to see that you actually think about these things, a lot of vegetarians or people that have mild allergies just don't.
