Broke a TY Beanie Babies tag. Now what?
I stupidly wanted to read the little poem on the tag of one that was probably over ten years old. The paper tag is fine, but the red plastic fastener that holds the tag to the Beanie broke (more like splintered) in several places when I put the protector back over the tag. The Beany is being stored with its tag. Would the fragility of the tag's fastener be the result of age, or less than ideal storage conditions on the part of the Beany's former owner? Should I just buy another of this Beany and be more careful from now on? Will the tag fasteners of newer Beanies I have become like this over time? If you really don't have the knowledge or experience to address at least one of these questions, don't answer.

I don't know. I have a Missy Mouse beanie baby, 1997 Ed that my cats just LOVE! They carry it around like how a cat would carry kittens around. I think it has something to do with how kittens flop in their mother's mouths when carried around and the beanie baby carries the similar effect.
