What Do I Have To Do In Order To Get Into Uconn

UConn Acceptance of AP credits?

I know that UConn obviously accepts credits for mainly 4's and 5's on high school AP exams. But, what if I take two years of AP English Lit and Language or AP Euro and American History and score 4s or 5s on both? Will it take both of those credits equally or only accept one of those classes? I know it varies for every school, but specifically for UConn, does it accept multiple AP credits for the same subject?

What do you consider best for business: Fordham, Syracuse, or UConn?

I'm still deciding but I don't know with to attend:

Uconn School or Business
Syracuse University Whitman School of Business
Fordham University Gabelli School of Business

(Still waiting for Wake Forest, Baruch and Lehigh but as of now consider only these three..(.you can give me a list of the order of all these colleges from 1-6...it would be really helpful)

Uconn application question?

In order to get accepted into the school of nursing you have to fulfill both UConn requirements and those of the school of nursing. There are 2 different apps. You can apply specifically to the school of nursing, and you can also apply to just the University of Connecticut. Here is the contact information for the Nursing school specifically. Contact them specifically to clear up any questions you have about applying to the nursing school, the program etc. Also, Uconn suggests applying online asap.

Submit the Fafsa as soon as possible, because the later you submit it and the way the economy is right now, it may be harder to obtain aid. Also, you can call each schools financial aid department if you have any further questions.

My college, UCONN, won't let me retake or transfer the last course I need to graduate. It is a required course for my degree. What should I do?

So, in order to graduate you need to take course X.You did take course X, but apparently not with a satisfactory grade to count in your major.According to you, the school does not allow you to retake it (to improve the grade) or take it somewhere else and transfer it.This makes no sense, since schools do want students to graduate. Either you are not telling us the full story, or you misunderstood what the school wants. I suggest you go to the registrars office and ask them what you can do to graduate. I don’t think anyone here knows the details of your story to be able to help you.Possibility: Go to see the prof. who teaches course X and ask them if you can do some sort of a side project to improve your grade to a passing grade.

What is it like to attend the University of Connecticut?

I attended UConn from 2002-2008 as a grad student. It was the best time of my life. I interacted with some of the most interesting people by living on campus and had a really great time working as well as studying. Yes, Basketball is a religion and being a proud husky will creep into your DNA whether you like it or not but that said, its not going to make you a social outcast if you decide to not go to a couple of games. The student center has a range of activities lined up for both undergraduates and graduate students and the dept of residential life is super good about having events in the dorms. I felt that the best way to enjoy your time in college is to get involved in any activity that interests you. My personal favorites were language clubs (German, French etc.), WHUS radio station (it has some really awesome people and great programming), Asian american cultural center (the director is a wonderful person and a good friend) and being a Community Assistant (helping out other residents in the dorms). All in all, I owe a lot to UConn including meeting my closest friends and future wife all in a campus where apparently "Nothing happens for miles!"

With a SAT score of 1850 is it possible to get admission to a good college for engineering?

Thanks for your question. It depends on what your definition of good engineering college. If you wanted to go to a MIT, I would say no. If you wanted to go to a UCONN, I would say yes. UCONN has a good engineering program and one that is often overlooked.I would retake your SAT if it were possible. Also, you need to see how your SAT Subject Test scores are and what your extracurriculars are. Good luck!

Which college is better for me? (PLEASE HELP)?

My top two choices right now for colleges are Endicott College in Massachusetts and University of Connecticut in Connecticut. I'm really torn between the two. I plan on going to school for English and Secondary Education. I love Endicotts campus and as soon as I went on it, it felt very homey. From friends, I hear they have big team spirit which I love, however it isn't that well known and their education program is just average. Also, it is surrounded by beaches and Cape Cod and Boston aren't too far away. But, if I go here, I would have a Masters degree in Massachusetts so in order to teach in CT, I'd have to do a whole separate test later on called the Praxis. With UCONN, I don't love the area outside of the campus because there really isn't much to do. However, the campus is beautiful and big, they are well-known, and I wouldn't have to take any additional courses or tests in order to get my Masters and it would be cheaper because I live in state. However, I didn't get as much of a homey vibe from UCONN as I did Endicott. Please Help!!!

What college basketball teams should be added to the big east now that SU and UCONN are leaving? I suggest Catholic colleges like St Joes and Fordham

First of all, SU and Pitt are leaving, not UConn (at least not yet).Conference realignment is done more through the lens of football, the sport that generates the big money for schools, so St. Joe's and Fordham wouldn't work because the Big East needs to add schools with football teams in order to be able to maintain relevance in the college football world (a move they've accomplished by bringing in schools like SMU, Boise St, Navy, etc and destroy any geographic notion of what the word "east" means). That being said, I tend to think that this doesn't create a stable situation for the Big East Conference and the Catholic schools (and these are schools that also lack football teams) should just leave the sinking ship that is the Big East and form their own conference which would give them the stability that everyone in college athletics is looking for. If they do that, however, I don't think they should bring in in St.Joe's or Fordham. I think they should look to take Xavier away from the Atlantic 10 and Old Dominion, George Mason, and VCU from the CAA. This would give them a twelve-team conference which would be both pretty safe throughout the ongoing process of conference realignment and a very good basketball league made up of a mix of major programs from an elite power conference (like Providence, Vilanova, and Georgetown), traditional mid-major powers (Xavier and ODU) and up-and-coming mid-major powers (VCU and George Mason).
