What school supplies do you need for grade 9 IB?
-Get regular 1~1.5 inch binders for every class OR get 2 big ones. -Pencil, pens, paper, book bag for first day of school. (They will most likely tell you what you need on the first day of school) -Depends on what school you go to for the dictionaries. Try getting one with both English AND French. If not, get the english. And I don't know if they sell these in Canada, but Merriam Webster = best dictionary. -No it's not too hard. It's harder than honors classes, but it's easier than AP classes (in my opinion) Advice - Study study study. Set aside at least 20 mins to study for EACH class, keep up with your homework, stay organized, and develop good time management skills. If you get a low grade on a test, don't sweat it. All grades at the end of the semester will most likely average out in your favor :)

How much Percent Do You Need To Pass a Grade 9 course?
Some people on yahoo are saying it's 65% and above to pass a course. But I thought my Teacher said 50%. I live in Ontario. I need to know. I recall my teacher saying if your just on the 50% mark you pass. But If I am mistaken and it is 65%. I only have 58%.
What type of calculator do I need for 9th grade math?
Get a T1-30. You probably won't use all the functions on it in 9th grade but it will last through your entire high school career (unless you take Calculus). It's around $15 at Walmart or similar stores. If you plan on taking Calculus or any other course that involves graphing, get a TI-83 or TI-84. You won't need the graphing function or a lot of the functions on it now, but it will last you through the end of college. It's around $100 at Walmart, though different brands (such as Casio) are closer to $50 with the same capabilities. So which you get depends on how much you want to spend, and if you want to get a new one in a few years or not. You take anything from Algebra I to Trigonometry in 9th grade so I can't really answer your question. I'm assuming you are going to take Algebra I or Geometry. Neither is very difficult imo.
Is grade 9 Hard??? Exams?
Ninth grade is different. My experience is that many of my students have been spoon feed through 8th grade. That doesn't happen in high school. HS teachers expect you to think! You need to do all of your homework and hand it in on time. Exams are not bad as long as you keep up with all of your work. I would think by now you would have had to do essay. When answering an essay question, be sure that you answer the question. English teachers do not tolerate b*** s***. As far as writing an essay, it takes practice and a lot of it. Your teacher will help you master this. Cheating--When you cheat, you are cheating yourself. If you have trouble with math and suddenly you get a excellent grade, the teacher knows what you have done. We are not stupid. Sometimes teachers overlook cheating just to get you out of class. In my school, if you are caught cheating, you get a zero for the assignment, test, or quiz. If you are caught a second time, and it doesn't matter what class the cheating takes place, you fail that course for the year. Remember, you are now at the point where everything counts toward graduation, especially state mandated requirements. Good Luck!

I am really freaked out and excited for high school but i keep worrying about what I am bringing on the first day so i would be very helpful if someone gave me some tips for the first day of high school.
How is Grade 9 like? Is it hard? Fun?
Well, I'm heading into High School (Grade 9). I live in Ontario, Canada and would like to know is there some sort of strategy or any tips and tricks to succeed in Grade 9. I want to get really good grades in High School and need to know what Grade 9 is like and how and what you need to do to get close to perfect grades in it. I usually get good grades as my overall average of Grade 8 was 80% exactly but I hardly tried or studied for tests. In Grade 9, I don't mind studying for hours at home so I think I can do a lot better. Anyways, any information would be appreciated. Thanks for your response!
