i've heard mayonnaise and ham sandwiches are a delicacy in some households.

Do white people eat rice?

Weird question, but after a min of thinking about it I realized what you mean. I am from the mid west originally and I can tell you that we ate rice maybe once a month and it wasn't the short grain sticky rice, it was always long grain. Or when we would have fried rice from takeout. It wasn't until moving to the Caribbean that I started to eat rice more than potato's. So yes we eat rice, some more than others depending on what region your from.

What is that round white thing that Catholic Priests give to people?

My friend who is Catholic took me to her church and at the end of the service we lined up to get the little round white piece of bread given by the priest. When it was my turn I asked the priest if they had any salt to go along with it and he got mad and so did the other people behind me. Weird!!!

Do white people like soul food to?

Sure I am white and I love it.

It is food and if it is fresh and prepared properly anyone can eat any kind of food they want regardless of color.

For a school project it would be cool to do a history of who did what in terms of the dish. Some was brought over from African, other elements were given to us by Native Americans etc.

Why do white people like Mountain Dew so much?

Ha, this is very true.My white friends constantly tell me to pick them up some mountain Dew. I personally cant stand the stuff. On the flip side blacks drink pop/soda with flavors (i.e. orange, grape, strawberry)..

Why do some people eat raw eggs? Are they not scared of getting salmonella?

There are two risks from eggs here.  1. The outside of the egg, when laid, is usually contaminated with intestinal contents (because the oviduct is adjacent to the cloaca).  When the egg cools, the contracting contents of the shell shrink slightly, creating a slight vacuum under the shell, and bacterial cells can be drawn through the porous shell.  Washing removes a lot of this, but there is a slight risk of bacterial cells under the shell, at the edge of the albumen (white).  Most forms of cooking (boiling, frying, poaching) makes this safe because the white is usually cooked first, and the bugs are only likely to be Salmonella and Campylobacter, both fairly easily killed by heat in the region of 170'F. Raw eggs (as in eggnog, tube feeding formula, undercooked omelette, hollandaise, etc.) do present a slight risk.2. The other risk only came to light in the late 1980s.  By a process of "trans-ovarian transmission", Salmonella can be laid down at the edge of the yolk, while inside the hen, and before the white and shell are formed.  Mr. Schusky is correct that around 1-2 per 10,000 eggs have been found to contain Salmonella, so the risk here is quite small.       Raw eggs thus join raw veggies, sashimi and other raw fish, raw oysters, steak tartare, raw or undercooked poultry, raw bean sprouts, and raw milk, inasmuch as they all contain a measureable risk, small in many cases, larger in others (especially raw/undercooked  poultry, raw oysters, raw/undercooked ground beef or pork, and raw milk).        The question for society is: "if we are physically free to purchase and eat these items, are there also appropriate restraints against using, giving, selling, serving them to vulnerable people or people who may not be aware of those risks?  Some of the questions we see on Quora are from aware and informed people.  Many however, are from sadly uninformed people, still lost in myth and misunderstanding, and with little or no knowledge of the science behind safety and health.  I believe that raw milk should NOT be available, except to the farmer and his/her family if they so choose.  The risks due to Vibrio parahaemolytica in raw oysters increase each year, and the link between raw beef and E. coli remains strong.  As for the rest, Quora does a good job at raising awareness.
